MTS Bob Ross Paint-Along Night
Hello, MTSers! Grab your brushes, boot up MS Paint, and prepare to paint your best happy little trees for MTS
Movie Night Paint Night!
In a couple weekends we'll be hosting a Bob Ross paint-along and watching party in our Discord text chat server. We're hoping this will be a great chance for everyone to meet new people, get to know our chat system (if it's your first time), and also make some art.
Myself and some of the other staff members will be doing a live paint-along with several episodes of
Bob Ross: The Joy of Painting. Everyone is welcome to use whatever medium they want, be it real physical paint or something digital.
However, to make things more interesting, we are encouraging everyone to try painting
only on computer using a mouse, and using only the most basic painting program that exists for their respective operating systems. For me, this is MS Paint! We'd love for you to join our adventures in trying to make beautiful landscape paintings using only the most primitive, frustrating tools available. At the end we can all share our results, and see what sorts of beauty and hilarity ensue!
Don't feel like painting? You can also watch! I (and possibly some other staff members) will be livestreaming my painting process on Twitch, so you can sit back, relax, and enjoy me scrambling to paint the subtle majesties of nature using only a %$*&%! mouse. I'll post details in livechat on the day of the event.
Saturday, September 16th
First session (Two episodes, approximately 30 minutes each) - 5 PM UTC / 7 PM CEST / 1 PM EDT |

Second session (Two episodes, approximately 30 minutes each) - 11 PM UTC / 1 AM CEST (September 17th) / 7 PM EDT (September 16th) |

The chatting will take place in our Discord server, which you can join
here. On the day of the watch party we will create a "Paint Night" channel dedicated to this event, so make sure to choose it from the Text Channel options.
First thing's first: The show is legally available on youtube! Hooray! Check it out
here. I'll be posting the episode selections on the day of the event.
On the day of the streaming we will be offering for download digital "canvases" for some episodes which begin with basic paints applied to the canvas. This just gives you a good "starting place" for your art.
We will also be offering pre-selected palettes for each episode, for those who don't feel confident about picking colours on the fly.
To coordinate everyone, we will be doing a text countdown in chat to synchronise our start times.
To ensure that you have time to get the resources offered above and are prepared for the countdown,
please show up at least ten minutes early, to ensure we all start at the same time.
If you arrive after we've started, you'll have to figure out the sync for yourself.
The meadows are in bloom:
who has ever seen such insolence?
