Issue & Symptoms

The list of worlds when clicking on the dropdown to Select a Town, at the New Game dialog window, is not scrollable. The number of worlds that do get displayed is dependent on your monitor size and thus, the screen resolution.

Causes

This is due to the simple fact that a vertical scrollbar is missing on the User Interface (UI).

Solutions

Patch 1.39 onwards introduced the scrollbar, so if you install more worlds than your screen resolution could handle, you need to be patched up to this version or later.

Before patch 1.39

fullscreen, 1920x1080; showing all 31 worlds installed
windowed, 1920x1080; only 28 of 31 worlds shown
The images below are illustrating a 1920x1080 screen resolution on fullscreen and windowed mode respectively. This set is showing the cut off of number of worlds as indicated by the image's caption. 31 worlds were installed.

These 2 images were taken in Jun of 2011 when answering the thread linked in #Related, which most likely meant that I was on patch 1.22 at that time.

After patch 1.39

windowed 1920x1080 scrollbar introduced
When you patched to 1.39 or later, a vertical scrollbar will appear if the list of worlds exceed the alloted screen real estate of that dropdown list.
