Baby Face Problem

Problem(s)

  • Infants/babies are born with an eye on their foreheads.
  • Toddlers/babies have hideous, horrible, ugly faces.

Solutions

Freaky Baby Skins

  • Prereleasebodyshopskin.jpg
Don't worry, this strange phenomenon is caused by using a custom skin that was made with an old version of Body Shop. Before the game was released, a preview version of Body Shop was available and it allowed you minimal skinning abilities.

Skintones made with that version were made in a slightly different way, so the correct texture for the baby's face went missing. The solution for this is either to delete the skintone (in Create-a-Family, Body Shop or from your My Documents folder), so that the baby adopts a Maxis skintone, or to wait until the baby grows up. The toddler will look perfectly normal (well, maybe... see below), so it's just a question of whether you can put up with the strangeness for a few Sim days!

You may want to contact the creator of the skintone and notify them (politely) of the issue. They may not be aware of the problem. You can link them to Game Help:Body Shop so they can learn how to fix their Body Shop if they're having an error that prevents them from using the Body Shop that comes with the game.

Ugly Toddlers

  • Uglybaby1.jpg
If your toddlers are ugly... well, that's actually pretty normal. If the parents have unique features and/or different facial structures from one another, toddlers can tend to turn out... very freaky and ugly. Their teeth may produde through their lower jaw, their eyes may look sunken, cheekbones may sag or stick into their eyes, and their foreheads may be bulbous, jagged, or otherwise strange. In short, they are horrible and a bit frightening to look at.
  • If you already have an ugly toddler born in your game, don't leave them for the social worker just yet... Wait until they grow into adults as their face will change. Often an ugly kid will grow into a gorgeous, or relatively normal-looking adult. You can try aging them up using the agesims cheat or the InSIMenator to take a look if you want to speed up the process.
  • If they're truly ugly as adults, but you just can't stand to kill them off, if you have Nightlife you can use the cosmetic surgery machine (it's a career reward) to fix their faces. This won't fix their genetics, though - just their appearance, so their kids will also tend toward being ugly. There's a cheat to unlock the career rewards.
  • You can also use SimPE's Sim Surgery function to fix the face of an ugly sim.
