Wow. It seems such a short time. Are they full grown now?

They're not fully grown yet, and won't be for maybe two or three more weeks. They are able to mostly feed themselves now though. Here's a collection of pictures of all five of them (Blueberry was kinda shy) https://www.deviantart.com/sanjouin...inger-812663276

And here's a shop I opened in Cafepress: https://www.cafepress.com/BabyBudgies

EDIT:

Awesome news! Mama and Papa Budgie have been starting a new clutch! Mama Budgie already laid an egg... might take a picture of it :D

Yup! Sorry I didn't post a pic earlier today. Had zonked out this morning and then took some nicer pictures - along with yesterday's pictures.

Anyway, here's Yesterday's pics: https://www.deviantart.com/sanjouin...Birbs-812857623 Kiwi was out of focus for some reason - possibly because he was moving a lot. I do like how the camera picked up the details of the white birdies' feathers though.

And here's Day 45: https://www.deviantart.com/sanjouin...Birbs-812858059 - Lots of pics from inside the cage, and I took them earlier in the day so the camera's flash was more effective. Used a towel as a backdrop. They all look so grown-up, don't they?

Here's a pic of two new eggs... Mama Budgie laid the second one today: https://www.deviantart.com/sanjouin...-Eggs-812859198

We might be giving away a couple of the babies - one for a pet and one for breeding. It'll be for the best since it would cut down on in-breeding.

They do look so big. It was just so fast.

I think giving some away is a good idea, not just for in breeding, but also because the way things are going you'll have a million birds by this time next year./

I know. And they'll have loving owners who will give them lots of love, attention, and millet.

That's true. Are you giving any of these away or wait until the next clutch hatches, cause I don't see your mama letting go of Sunny D. :3

She won't - Sunny D is her favourite! Anyway sorry for the delay in posting pretty piccies. Got some more from two days!

Three Eggs:

The miracle of life is amazing, isn't it? A month ago, those birdies' eyes were just starting to open, I think. I'm so glad I bought that nesting box and the wood shavings, because it sure started a great adventure. The babies we give away or trade with family friends will make them really happy, since they are hand-tamed. At least one seems to be trying to talk.

Just think, three new beautiful babies, three new personalities.

Which ones are you giving away, do you think?

Well there's been a change of plans and I don't know if we will be giving any away at the moment. The trade deal fell through with that one family friend - hubby didn't like the idea.

Oh well. Someone will want one of them. They are too beautiful for words.

@smorbie1 Aww thanks! One of our pastor's sons wants to have a couple of our babies, so yeah, we may be giving away one or two very soon.

Edit: Here are the belated pics:

New egg: https://www.deviantart.com/sanjouin...-Eggs-813455775

Day 48: https://www.deviantart.com/sanjouin...tures-813456659

Day 49: https://www.deviantart.com/sanjouin...Weeks-813456953

Sunny D is Seven Weeks Old! She's already a real bossy diva too! And we got a taker for two of our babies - one of our pastor's adult kids. I think his family will be very happy with hand-tame babies!

I'm glad, but sad, too. I feel like they're my babies as well. Which two will he be steal - I mean adopting?

I might be giving him Kiwi and Blueberry. Might keep Sno-Cone and Banana in my room or something, but I would like to see them breed with other birdies.

True, you don't want inbreeding. Blueberry and SnoCone are so unusually colored birdies. I'm glad you're going to keep one of them.

Blueberry looks like his father and Kiwi looks like his mother, while Banana has more yellow and Sno-Cone has more aqua feathers.

Love the budgies!

Actually, I enjoy these types of birds: small, colorful, chirpy. Wish I could add such birds, along with hamsters, guinea pigs, fancy rats, neon fish, koi to the menagerie... but our cat is a huntress, so huntress cat + defenseless birds, rodentine critters and fish = I go back to my first job I had as a grave digger at 7 when hunter Augustus Caesar would drop small dead animals on the porch of my grandparents' house in Springwood.
(He was a helluva barn cat. Got hit by a car once and walked crooked, walked straight after a second time. He lived to 19, a rarity for barn cats. He merely was a feral from strong stock that my aunt Mary rescued in the late 1970s.)

Gemini brought me a live bird during the selling process of our WA house before we left for NJ. The bird was a stunned chickadee with the look of "Get me out of this psychotic monster's mouth!"

Luckily, we separated them and dad released the chickadee back to the wild and praised Gemini, in spite of the fact she couldn't keep her catch. She was pretty mad about not keeping her catch.

@PANDAQUEEN Aww... well, we used to have indoor cats, but they all died from old age. My cat was a tortie that I named Shaznay after one of the All Saints. We also had a couple of ragdoll mix cats, and a torbie named Hermione.

@smorbie1 we have five eggs so far: https://www.deviantart.com/sanjouin...-Eggs-813680857

and here's day 50: https://www.deviantart.com/sanjouin...ve-It-813681460
and day 51: https://www.deviantart.com/sanjouin...eness-813681610

In one of the pics, Blueberry decided to take a nap while I was taking his picture, but he was awake to photobomb when I was taking Sno-Cone's pic.

They are! So our babies might get some little siblings pretty soon. We'll also have to move the parents inside because the weather is starting to get cold.

Yeah, it's getting cool in Armpit, too. I've had the windows open all week. Autumn in this part of the country is glorious. Our colors are nothing to brag about, but they are pretty to us, and the weather is without measure.

The leaves are turning in Asshole, but we are currently under quarantine due to a Korea-borne spotted lantern bug that damages trees.

Still, a new set of brothers and sisters. What are the chances of one color dominating this clutch?

They'll probably be a lot of yellows. Yellow base is dominant for budgies, but the mother is a latent white base, so who knows? Also, Mama Budgie laid ANOTHER EGG today - she now has six eggs!

Well, though three of the current babies have yellow on them, the only really yellow one is Sunny D, and she's gorgeous.

She is, and she knows it! Anyway though, any of the new babies could be all white, though with these two parents, they will always be female due to the -ino gene.
