They are adorable. They look like they've hit a brick wall on their long journey to Mordor, don't they? lol

Well, they'll look better soon. I mean, one doesn't merely walk into Mordor, right?

Pinfeathers arrived! Hooray!
Here's to your family of birbs

They do grow quickly! Seems like only yesterday they were the size of dimes!
Edit: Day 21 - Three Weeks! https://www.deviantart.com/sanjouin...Weeks-817086271 And the two eldest babies are roughhousing while the youngest is probably either too tired or just not having any of their nonsense.

Adorbs. Well, he is still a good bit smaller than they. He's smart to stay out of the fray.

WOW! The little one has really grown! I only recognized him because he still doesn't have all his pinfeathers yet. You go, little birb. Get in there and play with the big kids. :3

I think the youngest will look like Banana, while the older green and yellow baby might look like Kiwi. Not sure what the blue and white baby's colour will be yet - violet or turquoise. Will hafta see in a few days.
Edit: Day 23 - More feathers, and Blue and White baby's blue feathers are growing in. Gonna look like Papa Birb or Blueberry :D

I thought he might. They are so pretty and it's exciting to see their feathers come in and know what colors they are going to be.

My son's budgies laid eggs! One in their coconut toy, one broken on the cage floor. He cleaned up the broken one but we need to move the other to a nest box, which we have one, I just hope Mama Skittle doesn't have a fit about moving her nursery.
So excited this morning!

Miss Lemon Skittle is not happy I had to move her egg into the nest box, but she knocked it out of her toy. I hope she doesn't abandon the effort. I took the toy away to make it very clear that there's only one dark cavity available for hiding eggs in now. She is, of course, yellow. Her mate, Little Boy Blue, is blue. He's tame enough to hold and likes to ride around in my boy's hair. Skittle is absolutely not into any of this touching the bird nonsense. Little was bought as a little guy, Skittle was fully grown when he got her six months later, so we could tell she was female to go with him.
I'll have to look into a picture hosting website. My BFF's parents breed budgies in So. Cal., outside, you know I was on the phone the first thing this morning! They want pictures too, of course.

My mama birb is a yellow-base too. We're hoping that Sunny D's boyfriend will be an actual boy so they can have lots of cute baby lutinos. Sunny D was an incredible stroke of luck!
So anyways, here's Day 25: https://www.deviantart.com/sanjouin...-Pile-817554208
In just a few days, the eldest will be four weeks old! Isn't that exciting?
Oh GREAT. Looks like we're getting another damn outage. PG&E, shame on you.

I don't know what happened to my post.
Are they piled on top of the baby? Poor little birby.
Are you still getting outages? I thought it was a one and done thing.

https://www.deviantart.com/sanjouin...-Blue-817674398 - Day 26, with more cuteness.
We got more birb pile, and the youngest is gettine more feathers. As for outages... PG&E is saying it's gonna take ten years. Ten years of intermittent outages at the slightest puff of wind. Ten flippin' years. I'll be pushing FIFTY by the time they cut this crap.

Look at those feathers! Catching right up. I can't believe out of eight babies you only got one yellow one. DNA is a mysterious critter, isn't it?
I think part of the problem is that no one is allowed to go in and thin the dried dead stuff out of the woods anymore. The slightest lightning strike and there you go. We have a similar situation a little north west of me at the Okefenokee swamp. It's a preserve cause it's part of the Everglades, so it has to be left alone. A couple of years ago, it got struck by lightning and a fire raged for months. We even got smoke from it all the way over here. There were days when we asthmatics were not supposed to leave the house.

It is quite mysterious. We might get another yellow though - who knows?
As for that brush thing... right now I'm beyond caring about it. I live in a rural area. We have a landline service that won't work and we keep getting the runaround when we try to fix the problem. Right now all we have is our smartphones, and since we get very poor cell reception, we rely on wifi just to be able to use our phones on our property unless we're standing on our heads. It's so frustrating. I hope this monopoly gets broken up soon, and that they will be allowed to clear the brush out. Dead brush causes wildfires. I don't give a crap about the spotted owl or the snail darter. Let us clear the brush. And maybe penalize the PG&E monopoly for turning off power at the slightest puff of wind.

I think PG&E is just trying to prevent more lawsuits. It's bankrupt and really can't afford another Paradise fire.
I'm not defending it. I'm so sorry this is happening to ya'll.

Thanks. Wish I could move out of California to somewhere better. Even Montana sounds terrific.

Might be offline for a couple days. If I'm not replying for awhile, that's why. Frikkin' PG&E. Wonder if they'll start turning off the power during the summer. Bet they'd love some lawsuits from people who's loved ones baked to death because no AC.
