I plan to purchase a new computer. How do I transfer information from my old computer to a new one?

What do you want to copy?

• The whole thing, including operating system and installed programs?
• Just certain files and folders?
• Some installed programs and files but not everything?

And will you still have the old computer around, with its own mouse and keyboard etc., when the new one arrives?
