that's interesting to me. I know Sunny D is female. Are any of the others?

I don't know if any of the others are female. Dunno how much it would cost to DNA sex them either. It would stress them out though, from what I read, unless we use maybe just a feather instead of drawing blood. And I don't know if it would be wise to puncture a growing feather either. It might be dangerous because these growing feathers - blood feathers - can bleed a lot and kill a bird very quickly depending on the size.

I don't know. I just know that when they get older, the boy and girl budgies will start behaving differently depending on gender.
Anyway, belated piccies:

lol. The first one looks like they've self segregated by color. So adorable. And you're going to have six more!

We might get six more, or some of the eggs might be infertile. It can be hard to tell. It's gonna be fun waiting for the babies though... sorta like with the Sims, right?

Cute! I wonder what they put in the seed mix - the budgies seem to love it!
BTW @smorbie1 I have some new pics - including a special one of the birthday-birdie!

So pretty! They look like happy little birbs, too. I can't believe SunnyD is eight weeks old! The tiny swirls of white she has are absolutely gorgeous. You are so blessed to have all those adorable babies.

SunnyD is so cute in her highlighter yellow feather!

Thank you! I sure am blessed - they are bringing a lot of joy to the house, and my mother is always talking baby-talk to the birdies XD

Thanks! I knew after reading about red-eyed budgies that Sunny D was going to either be Albino, Lutino, Creamino. Lace-Wing, or Fallow. Luckily, she's a lutino and my mum's favourite :D
Anyways... it's Kiwi's eight-week birthday today! Here's the birthday birb: https://www.deviantart.com/sanjouin...-Kiwi-814355579
And I got a couple of my birb pics (including one of Sunny D's birthday) included in some deviantart groups. Flock-Together has a lot of my birdie pics, and ornithologists has one as well. It's pretty awesome getting lots of views and positive interactions on deviantart... back when I started out under a different name, well... I got into lots of flame-wars. Was such a n00b. LOL.

Kiwi is pretty! And well, we might sell more of the babies, but I'd at least like to keep Sno-Cone because of his blue-green feathers. And who knows... Sno-Cone might actually be a she...

You're mom is keeping Sunny D, isn't she?
I would have a really hard time with selling them. But that's me. I'm glad you are able to. The people who buy them will get sweet and pretty hand-raised birds, and you will have the joy to playing with them when they're babies.

The babies are parent-raised but hand-tamed. I wanted them to be able to play well with other budgies, so I let the parents raise them. Besides, I'm still a little leery about hand-raising them since if the food is too hot it can burn them and if it's too cold they could get sour crop. But if Mama Budgie starts attacking her babies, we're hand-raising them. Also, we have six potential babies on the way so who knows... we might get some more pretty babies.
And yes, we are keeping Sunny D. I'm hoping we can find a lutino, albino, or creamino male for her. Then she'd have pretty babies!

Oh, she really would! I meant hand raising. I just never thought of the difference, but, of course, their mama raised them, too.

Either way, they are pretty tame and will let me do more with them than Henlee did. He was pretty tolerant, but later in life he got really easily spooked or just grumpy. Anyway, Banana's gonna be eight weeks old tomorrow!
Also, @Pandaqueen, I like your Sailor Galaxia avatar! It's so awesome that we now have an official English translation of Stars!

Happy birthday to Banana! Thanks in regards to the avatar. I am pre-ordering the second half. I have a binge watch to do.

But back to the birbs - the new birdies are gonna hatch soon! Mama Budgie has been sitting pretty for the past week or so and here's hoping all the eggs hatch!
Edit: One of the eggs is PEEPING! It's gonna hatch either today or tomorrow! Wonder what the baby will look like :D

Wish there was a button like that! Anyway, the first baby of Brood 2 hatched today about five hours ago!

It's hard to believe that in less than two months, a baby that tiny will be full size.

It looks like he's encouraging one of his siblings to hatch. Like he's saying "Come on. It's okay. It's nice out here". Pretty pink little baby.

We have two pretty pink babies now and I bet they'll be even prettier in a few weeks: https://www.deviantart.com/sanjouin...-Birb-814790438
And Banana's eight-week birthday was on the 27th: https://www.deviantart.com/sanjouin...B-Day-814790875 - He celebrated with his siblings of course, and as always, is looking VERY cute!
I'm going to go to a bird show this Sunday and here's hoping we can find a lutino male. Mum and I want to breed Sunny D and have lots of lutino babies.
