I hope if there is / was anybody in the path of hurricane Sally, they were able to get away safely.* Sally has been really mean by only moving a couple miles per hour over the past 12 or so hours. Hurricanes are destructive by their very nature, but when they move that slow, that means lots of damage is done by wind, rain and storm surge. Phone calls to 911 for water rescues started at around 7:00 PM EST.

Laundry room is done.

Relatives are calling because they want things.* If they needed food or something; I'd be okay with that even though we only hear from this person when she wants something. She never calls just to say hi or whatever. I digress.* Calling about a sheet of commemorative stamps that she wants us to send is not a need and there is at least one post office in every town across the US. A person can even order stamps directly from the USPS website and have them shipped. Said person is internet savvy and is more than able to afford the $11.00 for a sheet of stamps. People are so rude....

The stink from the dead mouse is gone. The floor for the entryway is concrete.* Since concrete is porous, it absorbs liquid that smells good or bad.* It took many applications of bleach and water to get the smell out, but we're good now.* To help me figure out the exact location of where the floor needed to be treated, I ordered a black light that is used to find pet urine stains.* The one I was sent needs to go back as it has a bad connector, but it worked enough to get the job done. Amazon will be sending me a new one as it is a handy thing to keep around the house. One of my dirty dogs pee'd on one of my scatter rugs; I didn't know about it until I checked with the light.

The other things we were told to try to get the stink out was to use a power washer which we don't have and since the problem was inside, using a power washer wouldn't have worked.* The other idea was to keep putting baking soda down to absorb the smell. Yeah, no.* It was 46 degrees when I roll out of bed this morning. I can't leave a fan in the window for weeks at a time to suck funky smells out.*

Electrician remains MIA. I called and left a message yesterday, still nothing.* If I don't hear from him by the end of the week, I'll call in somebody else. As of this coming Friday, it will be a week since I've heard from him.*

While hoping for a return phone call from MIA electrician yesterday, I cleaned out all the closets downstairs. I didn't have much to get rid off, but they were in dire need to be organized. Having the vacuum cleaner in one closet while the attachments for said vacuum in another doesn't make any frickin' sense.* Keeping like things with like things means not wasting time looking for stuff.* I need to order more shelves to get things off of the floor, and the closets need to be painted. I have all winter to get that done.

In a unexpected twist, the electrician called last night and will be here this morning.

I didn't expect him to call, but that isn't the 'twisted' part.* We started looking for a new electrician yesterday.* We were going to give the one that was here last Friday up until 11:00 AM today. If he didn't call,* we were going to go with the new people we contacted. They were more than happy to come out his morning, give us a estimate and do the job.*

The twisted part of this story is; the people we called to replace the other guy is related to the guy that is showing up this morning.* DOH!* I don't pretend to understand how this situation came to be, and I admit that I'm curious if perhaps a phone call was made saying something along the lines of "Your customer is calling us to do a job. Why are you ignoring them?"* A curiosity that will never be answered unless it happens through conversation.

I'm not one of those people that expects a contractor of any kind to drop what they are doing just to call me back, but there is a line. If somebody can't find and or make the time to make a appointment, then clearly don't need my business.* There are other jobs around the house that are electricity related that need to be done.* We're getting things done as we're able to pay for them.* We could go to the bank and take out a loan; that's not happening.

The previous owner of this house had a thing for ceiling fans; he stuck them everywhere.* Not only do I hate ceiling fans as they are one more thing to clean, but we also have low ceilings.* If a person is taller than 6'2", they run the risk of being smacked in the head with ceiling fan blades.* Downstairs there is a fan in what the previous owner used as a bedroom. Because of the ceilings down there, I can't raise my arms over my head in the middle of the room without hitting the stupid fan; I'm 5'2".** Then there is the lighting situation in the kitchen that is a hot mess because of stupid things the previous owner did that also needs to be fixed.* Putting a ceiling fan with light fixtures in front of a fridge does nothing to provide light to a sink or counter top as a person is always standing in their own shadow unless the sink or counter is on the other side of the lights.*

The previous owner of this house was also a avid junk collector.* When we first moved in and started what are now flowerbeds, we dug up a entire weight set that had been buried with time to go along with booze bottles, kids toys, ect...* It was like doing a archeological dig only without the thrill of finding the remains of a T-Rex or some other creature from times past.

These are the kinds of things that realtors don't talk about in their listings and such. Even the person that sold us this house had issues.* Soon after we bought, the guy disappeared. We thought maybe he died, nope. He hightailed it out of state because he spent a few years engaging in tax fraud. He also failed to mention that a person died in the house which is illegal, at least in my state it is.

Fun times....

EDIT: Outdoor lighting is done.* Next project is already in the making. The ceiling fans are going and recessed lighting is going in the kitchen. Yaass!

The town of Asshole has a broken water main.

Everything that requires water is offline until further notice.

Not too thrilled.

Still working on my town project.

This October: I'm going to commit to buying a shave ice kit, seaweed and sea grapes, binders in bright colors, a very strong toothpaste, Disney films directed under Walt's supervision, 128 color pencils and matcha green tea powder.

It's my birthday month (October) and I hate hesitation Because it cost me in the past

TGIF...

It is going to be nice all weekend; there is no shortage of things that need to be done.

I need to finish painting the kitchen ceiling before new lights can go in. I also need to find a new range hood. Ours has been in the house since who knows when, it is the wrong color so it doesn't match anything and it's gross.* It needs to go! Most meals are cooked in the crockpot or Instant Pot anyway. I have zero use for a gross, bisque colored range hood.

I spent over a hour yesterday looking for a new light fixture for the livingroom when the ceiling fan comes out.* I had zero luck. Everything I looked at are nothing more than a dust magnets.* Recessed lighting is going in the livingroom. I need to call the electrician to make him aware of the change in plans. I tried calling him yesterday but his his message box was full. I can think of better things to do than waste time* cleaning light fixtures.* Recessed lights are simple to clean.* Take a duster to them on a extended pole, swirl it around and they're done.

A box of stuff needs to be dropped off for donation.

I've been slacking with making freezer meals.* Assuming Amazon actually sends my stuff, I can get those done tomorrow.* This virus thing has taught me many things, but keeping extra food in the house is a good idea. Not hoarder-type extra food, just the stuff we normally buy then we 'shop the house' when we need something rather than going to the store for it.* When something runs low, we stock up again.* Nothing gets thrown out or wasted.

I saw a video the other day about making bread in the crockpot. I want to give that a go to see what happens.

The Pit needs to be finished.* There wasn't time to work on it this week.

So far the ultrasonic mouse deterrent things have been working. I haven't seen any evidence of any new mice or heard them.* Usually when they come in, they like to romp around in the attic and chew stuff.* The entryway still smells like bleach, but it will get a good airing out over the next couple of days. I'll take the smell of bleach over what was there.

I started in on stopping smoking on Tuesday, and am doing pretty well so far.

But I am in complete despair right now because Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg died tonight.

2020 is undoubtedly going to go down as one the worst years in our country's history.

Yesterday was one of those semi 'bull in china shop' days mixed with getting things done.

The crockpot bread failed. I think I added too much flour as the dough was really dry and crumbly. I'll try it again at a later date. Until then, I drag out the bread machine.

I said recently that I needed to stop doing banking stuff early in the morning as it never ends well when I do.* Yesterday I did it again, only this time I had to call the bank to fix my screw up.* I was supposed to move money from checking to savings which I do every week. I ended up moving money from our checking account to our credit card which we don't owe anything on.* If the amount was $50.00 or something, that wouldn't have been a big deal as I could use it the next time I order pet food or whatever.* The amount was larger than that though and when I went to correct my mistake, the bank assumed I wanted a cash advance.* Ewww, no!

For those that don't know how credit card cash advances work; it is basically a loan against the line of credit on a credit card. So if somebody has a credit card limit of $500.00, a person could take a cash advance against that $500.00.* "Borrowing" money this way is not free unless a person pays off the balance within 30 days.* Not only does a person have to pay interest on the stuff they bought if they already had a balance to begin with, but then they also have to pay a separate interest rate ( this is a additional interest rate, both accrue at the same time) on the cash advance if that too isn't paid in full before 30 days.* The whole thing leads down a path of a ugly, financial mess if people are not careful. I digress.

I called the bank and explained the stupid thing I did. The problem was fixed; no harm done.* I am however done with doing banking stuff shortly after I get up. The stress of doing so isn't worth it. If there is something I have to do, I can do it the night before.

I figured out a good time to call the electrician so I can actually speak with him. We talked about the kitchen as well as my 'issue' with finding a fixture for the living room. He's onboard with nixing the fixture and putting in recessed lighting instead. He also agreed that recessed lighting is easier to maintain.* Once he is paid for the work he did to fix the outlet and for the outdoor stuff, we can get that project done.* While he's here for that, I'm going to ask him for a recommendation for general contractor for future projects.* I've had no luck finding somebody that will do 'small' projects. All of the contractors I've talked to won't talk to me unless I'm willing to plunk down 10- plus thousand dollars on any given project that needs doing.* While I do have projects like that which I want done, ( new roof for the second time and the kitchen needs to be updated) I want to get the small stuff done and out of the way first. Getting the small stuff done first is momentum to get the big stuff done.*

I also found out that I can order things from Costco without buying a membership.* I think I'm the last person on the planet to know this, but I'm happy about it regardless.* There was one thing I wanted for our 'food storage' that I either haven't been able to find locally or didn't trust Amazon enough not to do the right thing. Costco does have a spending limit to avoid shipping fees ($75.00) and they apply a 5% surcharge on non-member orders.** From where I'm sitting, neither are a big deal.* I'm not going to waste my time going on their site to buy a single thing of soy sauce or whatever and the 5% surcharge is way cheaper then what it would cost in gas to physically go to the store.* The nearest Costco to us is over a half hour away, one way.*

Then there was the 'debate' with my doctors office over a prescription refill that could have been completely avoided if they had told me they sent a new script to the pharmacy.* Instead, I had to be lectured about how they won't refill it because I supposedly used all the refills even though the last time I had said script filled was in May. Once I told them the date of when the last time the script was filled, they revealed to me that they had sent in a new script in August, then gave me attitude about why I didn't know this. I guess I need to work on my mind reading skills.

Maybe the staff at my doctors office spends their free time calling to see if their meds have refills sent in without their knowing about it, I don't.* The less time I can spend talking to the people at my local pharmacy, the happier I am because they don't listen and are annoying to speak with.*

While I have the kitchen to myself, I need to quit stalling, get off my butt, and put some freezer meals together.

It is turning into a list day.* A list for stuff in the deep freeze, a WIP grocery list, a list of things that I need to order ( already did this) and what is starting to feel like a never-ending "To- Do" list. Along with the stuff* I ordered, I took the plunge and ordered a food saver / sealer thing. I've been dodging this bandwagon for a long time since I didn't feel it was necessary. However, since the whole mouse ordeal and the fact that we're storing food downstairs, I need a better plan than just relying on zip lock bags.* The one thing I didn't order was either a food safe bucket or a tote to keep sealed dry goods in.* We can get one during the week.

Speaking of zip lock bags, I bagged up the things of oatmeal ( two 2 pound boxes) we bought a week or so ago and stuck those in freezer.* I always keep things like flour in the freezer as I don't it to become buggy, but as I'm finding out, other things such as oatmeal can have the same problem.* Sticking such items in the freezer for 72 hours kills any larvae if freezer storage is a problem.* I also learned that things like yeast can be kept in the freezer; I never knew that. If stored this way, the yeast needs to be room temp before using.

Since I'm talking about food, but not what I'm making for dinner...

I don't claim any of these recipes as my own, but if anybody is interested in putting freezer meals together, the following is the list I'll be working with this upcoming week.* https://happymoneysaver.com/wp-cont...EEZER-MEALS.pdf

They're simple, no fancy ingredients, minimal chopping when it is required, and they don't use things like Cream of Whatever soups, ect... as I can't eat them. Too many ingredients that trigger food allergies.

Pretty good weekend, good Monday. I picked up a bantam cochin roo on Saturday from a friend, who was giving him away since he beat on his frizzle brother. I was intending to rehome him next door, as they were looking for a roo, but their turkeys decided that it was a negatory, Ghost Rider - they tried to kill him so they gave him back to me. He's fine -no injuries but to his pride. XD Since our flocks intermingle a lot, he'll be brought over in the Spring for some caged lovin' with their hens (they have ducks, turkeys, chickens and a pig - best neighbors ever, too.)

Sunday, Mr. Rudi woke me up at 6 am. Little turd. My hens were giving him the stink eye, as they usually sleep in. He got himself a pecking from them and quieted down when I brought him into the house (he wears a diaper in the house) to have his morning cuddles, as he followed me around the entire day before after his ordeal with the turkeys. We went back out for some supervised outside time with his flock, and he did better, though screeched for me when I would go inside.

Today, we saw the kiddo off to school, had some breakfast and then he went back into the pen with the gals and they settled down. He didn't crow in the morning, the nutter. Which is good. He did in the afternoon, but that's okay. Again, he had some inside time where I trimmed his nails, washed his feather feet and fussed over him while he cuddled. He's more of a pet than anything else.

We did an Insta picture for fall.

Stuffing my face with homemade bread. Homemade bread doesn't behave like store bought bread in the toaster, but I make it work. My food allergies appreciate it as well as they've been acting up lately.

Aside from doing the usual stuff today, I'm going to be in the kitchen for most of the day prepping veggies and such. People in my area are back to panic shopping even though there is no reason to do so ( all the hot spots for virus related things have been the same problem areas since March) so I've spent most of this week trying to find things like brown sugar, Italian seasoning, ect....

I'm also done with buying things like canned veggies, baked beans and chicken.* We bought a case of canned peas two weeks ago; I had to toss half of them because the cans were destroyed.* They were not small dents, half the can was caved in, the same with the canned chicken I ordered. I can deal with tiny dents, but when half the can is caved in and I don't know how long it has been that way, they go in the trash. Nobody needs botulism in their diet.

Baked beans can be made in the crockpot, chicken can be pre-cooked and frozen.* Flash freezing veggies couldn't be that hard, I need to learn how to do it. At some point I'll be getting back into canning.* I used to make jelly and such all the time many moons ago. After what has happened this week with the amount of food ( money) that had to be pitched, I'm going to get back into it.* I'm not ready to jump into pressure canning, but it is something I've been learning about over the past few days.*

I watched a video yesterday; the person was walking around Hobby Lobby or Target...or something. Instead of wishing I could do the same thing, all that came to mind was "Look at all that crap in the store." Maybe my attitude will change once this virus thing passes, but for the time being, I don't miss any of the said crap.

EDIT: This should really go on a vent thread, but since we no longer have one....

If anybody is doing food storage for things like beans, sugar, flour, ect... do not buy the following buckets from Amazon.* They're expensive and the lids don't fit.

https://www.amazon.com/Hudson-Excha...00957668&sr=8-1

If you want something similar and that actually works, buy the following instead.* Yes, they have paw prints on them, but I've been using these kinds of bins for years and I've never had a problem with them. The lids screw on and work like they should. Why I didn't do this myself, I dunno.* Once I get my refund from the other company, I'll be ordering one of these instead.

Annoyed, but working through things.* AKA- This is "thinking out loud" post.

After discussing the whole bucket thing this morning, it has been discovered that it is going cost me almost as much to send it back as it did when I purchased it.* The $10.00 surcharge just to get it out of my area doesn't help.* Yeah, no...not doing that.* Instead we are going to get a new lid and see if it fits. If that doesn't work, we can return the lid and I'll use the bucket for fish tank water changes.* The company I ordered the bucket from will never see me again. It was a third party seller on Amazon; I didn't check this before I ordered.* Lesson learned.

Because I have been annoyed about this whole thing, I got to thinking about how to avoid this situation in the future, yesterday.* I currently have 15 pounds of flour sitting in my freezer. The bucket was supposed to home to said flour once it got out of its 72 hour quarantine to avoid bug problems. The quarantine is over, but now I have to find other ways to keep the flour.* That will happen one way or another, but since I'm in no mood to go through this problem again, it would be cheaper in the long run to buy a flour mill and wheat berries.* Doing things this way means I don't have to do a 72 hour quarantine, I can mill as much or as little flour as I need or want and if I want extra, I don't have to deal with 15 pounds worth.

The two bags of flour I bought cost me $15.28 which doesn't include the grocery delivery fee and the tip for the person that delivered said grocery order. For my most recent order, the tip was just under $9.00.* Add in the cost of the presumed useless bucket,* now I'm in almost $60.00, for flour.* I can get a bag of wheat berries for under $15.00 and the flour mill I was looking at is around $100.00.* I'm already half way to the cost of a flour mill just from the stupid bucket problem alone.** I'm not opposed to paying the delivery fee or tipping people, but this whole situation is really stupid. I'm not going to repeat it.

While I was being annoyed yesterday, I got to thinking about the sweet potato fries we buy. They come from a company called Alexia, we buy the 64 oz size bag which is $8.49 per bag.* I've been having problems with getting these fries to crisp up in the oven and they have been causing food allergy issues.* I looked into the allergy thing; found my answer.* They changed how they process said fries, so now they're covered in crap which may or may not also explain the crisping problems.

Ingredients:

Quote:
Sweet Potatoes, Vegetable Oil (Contains One or More of the Following: High Oleic Canola, Canola, Sunflower), Rice Flour, Cane Sugar, Tapioca Starch, Corn Starch, Dextrin, Sea Salt, Spice, Salad Mustard Powder (Distilled Vinegar, Mustard Seed, Salt, Turme

High Oleic canola oil is gross, sunflower oil is a no-no as is corn starch.* No wonder my allergies are all kinds of pissed off when I eat this nasty fries.

A 3 pound bag of sweet potatoes is $3.99. A 5 pound bag of plain ol' Russet potatoes is $3.29.* Like with the wheat miller, for around $100.00 I can make fries and lots of other 'fried' things with a air fryer.* Yeah I can make fries from scratch in the oven, but I can never get them to come out right.* Nobody should be paying delivery fees on food that is considered toxic to people that are allergic to things used for said food.

What is left of the bag of fries are going in the trash, a air fryer will be ordered before the weekend is over.* I have everything I need to make french fry seasoning if that's what I want to do. Once I work my way through all the flour I bought ( this won't take long. Homemade made bread is like crack in my house) I'll order a wheat berries and a flour miller.

I'm over the bullshit that comes from grocery stores and big box stores like Costco.

EDIT:* I don't need to buy a new lid for the flour bucket. I found a snap on lid that works.

I'm good.*

I've been on the hunt for small businesses that sell things I need so I can put some space between myself and the likes of Amazon, big box stores...ya know..* I found a company that delivers things like rice, sugar, ect... in bulk. I don't need these kinds of things right now, but I will be ordering from them sooner rather than later.

The other company I found is more like a regular grocery store, but much of their products comes from small, local businesses, farmers and so on.* Said company also donates a portion of their sales to a local restaurant fund since like just about everywhere else, they've taken a huge hit due to the virus. They also donate to local food banks.

Price wise they are bit more expensive, but my experience with these kinds of companies has been awesome so far. We have meat delivered once a month; I have zero complaints with the product or service.*

Oatmeal bread is doing its thing in the bread machine.

The blueberry muffins that I didn't make yesterday are in the oven.

I've washed dishes 4 times today and it's only 11:00 AM.

I found a basic pasta sauce I like from my Vitamix cookbook so I don't have to buy jarred sauce anymore.

I have paint so I can paint the inside of the backdoor which needed to be done awhile ago.* The color is from Sherwin Williams; it is is called "Peppercorn".* The color was color matched for Behr paint instead of Sherwin Williams.

I have laundry to do, I need to vacuum, clean up all the mess the birds made in the living room, ect... It is going to be a long day.

Buyer beware.

I found a company, Azure (I'm not going to link to their site) that sells things likes beans and such in bulk.** They state on their website that they will ship orders nationwide and I'm sure they do, but they seriously price gouge for said service.* I was going to order beans, rice, diced tomatoes and a shampoo bar from them just to try. When it came time to check out, they were going to charge me $110.00 for shipping alone.* It goes without saying that I did not place the order and will not participate in their shenanigans.

I wasn't trying to order a truckload of these things. I wanted a 5 pound bag of black beans, a 5 pound bag of brown rice, 2 cases of diced tomatoes and a single shampoo bar.* There is no reason or excuse to charge $110.00 to ship these things from Oregon.* If a person lives in a area where a order can be picked up, they charge a few dollars for that.

In other things I've tried to do...

Yesterday I tried to find apple cider vinegar and ground nutmeg, couldn't find either from the places I order from. I'm not going to question why people are hoarding these things, but I did end up ordering from the place I'm trying to avoid a powdered version of apple cider vinegar which should be more shelf stable than the liquid version and nutmeg.* In that order, I also bought a 25 pound bag of black beans as I'm almost out and a bag of navy beans for a turkey chili that I want to make as a freezer meal.

It will be interesting to see post virus if people continue to hoard all the things and if companies such as Azure continue to price gouge on shipping.*

Confused.

Somewhere in this house there is a missing mug. Its so sad we've only had it for a month and it was the best shade of orange ever! Where it is exactly we do not know. Why is it missing, we cannot answer that either because you can't possibly lose anything in this house there are just not hiding places. We even did a deep clean of the house cos its missing and that's hella suspicious

New chili recipe was a hit; it's almost gone.* YAY!

I've been using the air fryer to make roasted veggies for lunch the past few days. Nothing fancy. It has been diced up ( or whole veggies such as green beans) veggies, a drizzle of olive oil to coat with a sprinkle of salt. I've never been opposed to eating veggies, but they taste better when they're roasted.* Yesterday I made 'air fried' green beans with roasted potato. They sell a similar mix at my grocery store. I've bought them in the past, but the sauce they use triggers my food allergies and has a funky taste to it that I can't describe.* For a single small bag that supposedly has 2 servings in it, isn't worth the $4.00. The 'sauce' alone doesn't make it worth it. I digress.

I highly recommend a air fryer to anybody that may have been hesitant to get one.* They can be used to bake with, broil things, make meatballs, ect... You can even make grilled cheese in them.* I haven't had a grilled cheese in what feels like forever.

One of these days I'll stop talking about food. That probably won't happen any time soon though as there are too many things to try and today I'm making carrot 'fries'.*

Remembering Grant Imahara and the fact he's gone. Not that I should let you forget, we were born 17 years apart on October 23. I feel like someone shattered my heart without trying.

It didn't matter what his life situation was. I was crushing on Grant for the past 15 years.

My father noticed I wasn't myself today. He was right.

Pretty good, pretty good! I honestly can't tell what mode my wife is in, every strong emotion she has manifests as angry righteous indignation. Kid wants lunch and does a guilt trip on me because I asked her what she wanted.
Thinking about doing a science experiment with the cat to see what kind of cat food she likes. Some she eats, some she doesn't. So, I'm going to weigh the before and after eating, and then do this statistical test which checks to see what she eats the most that factors in if she ate the day before.

Sims are better than us.

Today has been pretty okay overall. I had my allergy shot which always makes me feel like crap for a day or two after, and my sister always knows how to piss me off, but I got some amazing news.

The game dev club at my college chose my pitch to turn into a game! It was my first time ever making a pitch so I was REALLY prepared with visual aids and a presentation, and I powered through the presenting anxiety and it was very well received, but I wasn’t sure it would be picked. However, the club voted and chose my game to be one of the two for our two teams! Currently I have some very talented people signing up to be on my team, which is exciting.

I’m in school for programming, but I would love to one day be a game designer rather than just a programmer. I’d love to work with an indie studio. I hope the convention that the club goes to happens next spring so that maybe, just maybe, my idea brought to life with all of my team’s hard work could be showcased. I rarely feel proud of any of my work, be it writing, music, art, mods, or games... and if I ever do, it’s very fleeting. I have to say, though... right now, I’m feeling pretty proud.

ETA: I also got some Junji Ito ebooks which is great! His work is awesome and I’m excited to finally get to read Venus in the Blind Spot.

Feeling better. Watched "Don't Let the Pigeon Do Storytime". Rachel Dratch, Tony Hale and Oscar Nuñez were among the celebrities who told the stories written by Mo Willems.

Knuffle Bunny was part of the pronunciation debate. It is pronounced K-nuffle Bunny as k-nuffle means hug or snuggle in Dutch as Mo Willems is of Dutch descent. There is even a nonsensical sing-along for this book

During the alphabet book, Rachel Dratch went all out insane on the gestures of eating while Fred Newman vocalized the eating. Tony Hale appears later in the alphabet book performance as the father of the monster.

I've been really struggling for a month now. Some days are easier than others, today was a hard day. I'm just finding it all too hard. It's like I can't relax. I don't sleep at night, or really manage with any "alone" time, it's like there's a monster in my brain forcing me to think things that cause me to have panic attacks. It's worse in the morning, after I got dressed and ready for work and the house is silent as everyone sleeps. I've tried listening to music, sometimes stupidly loud (through earphones) but I skip every song looking for something but I'm not sure what. Anything to calm me. Nothing works. It's just repetitive thoughts over and over again. I feel like crap and I don't know what to even do. I just wish life was back to "normal".

After a month or so of scrounging around trying to find things to keep in stock ( beans, rice, spices, ect...) I'm now to the point where my grocery orders only contain veggies, fruit, milk...that kind of stuff. Finally!* I have a few spices I need to find as I used up what I had; maybe Amazon won't screw those up.*

I ordered one of the new Instant Pots that does canning (Instant Pot Max) so I could dabble with that.* I was sent a message that the package was 'undeliverable' AKA the box was destroyed while it is was being shipped.* I guess the adventures in canning will have to wait as I currently have no interest in going through the process of ordering a canner, a recipe book, jars and gadgets needed to do things the right way all over again.* The order for the jars was canceled as they wouldn't be in until sometime in November anyway and the other things ( the recipe book and gadgets) are on their way back; I haven't even opened the box.* I could just order a stock pot and do hot water bath canning, but nah.* That isn't what I want and I'm not willing to plunk down $300-plus for one of the heavy duty canners that are recommended.*

In other things, all the local stink bugs want to be in my house. Jingle decided to munch on one last week. She found out really fast that stink bugs do not make for tasty snacks. Now when she sees a bug, she leaves them alone and grabs a stick or one of the many pine cones that are littered all over the backyard.
