Peanuts from a Chip Bag?!

Date Posted: 29th Aug 2012 at 12:40 AM

HURRAY! My disc works after all. It was my new CD drive that had the problem. I tried it in the DVD/CD drive and it came right up. I just about cried with joy, I think ...

SO NOW, why won't my bag of peanuts snack show up correctly? I cloned it from the chips, gave it unique GUID's and added my own textures. ... yet it still looks exactly like the chip bag. It has the chip bag texture, which I replaced, and the annoying shadow, which I covered up with a solid black alpha. I worked hard on that texture, too. Why won't it show up?!

Epic Kuddos to MTS!

Date Posted: 25th Aug 2012 at 1:18 AM

Even when my Sims 2 disc fails and I can't start up my game, MTS is there to give me my Sims 2 fix and save me from aspiration failure.

MTS is the of Sims 2 sites.

(And I am its fool. )

Nix the Bunny ... Pass the Chips! =D

Date Posted: 9th Apr 2012 at 7:05 PM

Yeah, no Easter rabbit jelly bean dish. Maybe another time. But I did make the piñatas for the real kids, and they were a SMASH hit.

I wanna make that snack cupboard still. It will be easy to pull off, but I will have to learn to make sim foods if I want to add my own munchies to it. No plain bag or can recolors for me! (But I will start with that for practice.) I want heart-shaped Valentine boxes holding chocolate candies, jars filled with peanuts and jellybeans, and perhaps a big lollipop cloned from the juice can? All I need is the idea and the ingenuity and I'm confident it can be done! (Eventually ...)

End.

Might Need A Ressurection Myself This Sunday ...

Date Posted: 3rd Apr 2012 at 7:40 PM

Wow, I should really enjoy this Resurrection Sunday after all of the things I have to do before then. The candy dish mesh is coming along. Here is and early version of it. For real-world matters, I also have to make two piñatas before Saturday. Eef!

I just recalled another project that I've had in mind for years: making a snack cupboard. Now that I have Uni., I should be able to make one by cloning the mini-fridge. Hopefully I would be able to integrate my original candy dish mesh into it. It's just too pretty not to use. :D

The foundation project is coming along well, too.

Endles. :P

Easter Project!

Date Posted: 31st Mar 2012 at 12:22 AM

You know what? Its now or never; either I submit a candy dish for toddlers by this Easter or I don't.

Okay, the object functions as it should. Teens and up can fill it and clean, the little squirts eat it when mommy is late with the bottles. Hunger goes up, hyg. plummets. Good. As for dogs and cats eating from it, I have yet to test this object on a lot with animals. If I altered the file correctly, pets shouldn't be able to interact with it.

Okay, what I need to get to work on now is the mesh. I have an older mesh for it already that resembles a fancy, glazed dish, but I think having a plastic bowl in the shape of a bunny would be better because, 1.) you don't let toddlers near breakables, 2.) I want to get it in by Easter and kids like bunnies anyway.

This page offers a lot of inspiration:
http://www.thefind.com/gifts/info-bunny-candy-dish

They have some ideas expressed that I had in mind already, so its nice to see those ideas in good use. I like the dish that is in the shape of a rabbit's head. That might not be hard to pull off. The bowl would need to be raised from the floor, so the idea of having little bunnies holding it up it a cute idea, too. I'll see if I can incorporate the freezer bunny.

This should be a nice submission for Easter!

I Can't Believe Its Not Maxis! is great on upside-down cakes ;D

Date Posted: 30th Mar 2012 at 6:00 AM

(Okay, I didn't really start up my sims game after that last entry, but I wanted to.)

So, I went straight for the "moderate-difficulty" challenge of making walls that work on foundations and stages. So far, so good. For now, I'm working on modifying Maxis wall covers. Save for one I changed intentionally, they match up to the originals pretty well. When I experimented mixing and matching Maxis' textures with mine, I had to keep checking whose was whose, but that's what I'm aiming for: I can't believe its not Maxis! * Once those are done, I think I shall try making my own original textures from scratch.

Production Sneak Peaks:
My Useful Wallpapers
Basements used to be so hard to make ... until now! (Because now I know exactly where to stop digging!
Eureka!
Poor little upside-down cake ...

* In the land of the 50 states, there is a brand of butter substitute called "I Can't Believe Its Not Butter."

The Next Challenge(s)

Date Posted: 29th Mar 2012 at 8:06 PM

Wow, my foo lion actually got in. People really seem to like it, too. Funny how I have more "thanks" than downloads so far. I guess I'm not the only one who thanks a download for the idea rather than because I want it in my game. (Shrugs.)

Okay, now I feel REALLY inspired to finish up my projects. What are they again?

- Comedy career (everything )
- Bird bath (texture(s), water effects, mesh?)
- Toddler candy dish (mesh and bump map)
- Toddler-usable shopping cart prop (cloned from highchair)
- Cloud stairs (Ugh!)
- Wall covers that work with stages set on foundations (because it never looks right when I stack them)
- Recoloring the checkered tile wall to match the Maxis checkered floor tiles.

Okay, now let me group those ...

Easy: Bird bath, candy dish, checkered wall recolors.

Moderate Difficulty: Stage-foundation useable wall covers.

Hard: Shopping cart mesh, Comedy career, cloud stairs.

Actually, I think I'd rather play the game than modify it for now. (Starts game. )

Foo Lions in Review

Date Posted: 26th Mar 2012 at 8:29 PM

My foo lion breed is in the moderation queue. I'm so nervous!

On another note, my last upload had to do with southeaster Asian culture, too. This is odd because I did not think I was really that interested in that region of the world.

End.
