As far as ideas; I've stumbled across this list of mid-century homes. The one that 'dominates' the suburbs.
The roofs also appear very straightforward :p

LOL I always do that, actually. (Beam, range hood...) Just, usually, they are the invisi-alarms in the pictures - so you can't see it. Those alarms are just too ugly to leave visible on the wall. Oi!
