I have another mod that allows University Careers to be a Sim's LTW.
Now I finally can have teens work in their LTW career even if they chose a Uni one.
Thanks!

This is so great! In one of my hoods it is often too expensive to go to college. This will really help!

Hey, simsfreq. Great idea providing teen versions of the University careers; maybe it's just me, but I've always felt a bit off that these EAxis jobs weren't available for teens, as if something important was missing.

I plopped them into the game and I noticed that the Show Business career doesn't seem to show up for teens though. I also noticed that some of the stated salaries and position titles were different from those in the download page (Natural Science's first level is Plant Watcher instead of Plant Waterer). I know the last one's not something game-breaking, but I thought you might like to know.

These are just what I wanted!

Do you have any idea if they would work with the hack by Phaenoh that changes which careers require university degrees?

I haven't tested but as these are regular custom careers they will work with only base game and every setup with ep's.
Well done! And great idea!

Ooh - thanks for this. I'll check in SimPE and change those when I add the descriptions (I had included them, but then somehow clicked the wrong button in the upload process and reverted to an earlier version). I must have used my notes from my plans for the careers rather than the actual values, so I'll double check this. The showbiz career has been showing up for my teens, but I'll check which version I included.

Hi, yes they do. Phaenoh's hack does the same thing as the Syberspunk one.

Quite possibly yes, but as there is a line of code which makes them transfer into the related adult career, I wasn't sure if that would mess up without uni installed. Also, in the spirit of fairness, these are like 70% Maxis content, so I feel it's a bit stealy to have them without Uni.

This is such a good idea, Orphalesion, I'd like to add that mod too. Would you mind providing a link? Thanks, Sandya

This is a great idea and I will now begin paying attention to the University careers. It will spice up the game a lot, I think. Thanks for your unique contribution.

The transfer just won't work if there's no University, but the custom teen career will work fine.
You're right about the stealy thing though.

I have the Ultimate Collection for Sims 2. I recently created a family of two elder parents and one adult son. I placed them in an apartment complex with two other families and one NPC in the four units. All worked well for about a day and I was having them all look for jobs in the newspaper. The father got a job as cement mixer and moved up to brick layer. The son got a job in the music career. When the mother chose the natural science career - the game crashed immediately. After that happened three times, I was thinking it might be the a problem with the apartment complex itself. So I moved the family to a small house in one of my neighborhoods.. All went well until the mother tried to get a job again this time in a normal elder career path. The game crashed immediately a fourth time. The fifth time I didn't allow the mother to get any job but to write novels instead. That worked well. Is it possible that there is a connection with this mod?

I have no idea. Sorry. I have elders in these careers in my game, and have been playing with them in for years. But most game problems can be fixed by going through all the steps in this file:

http://modthesims.info/wiki.php?tit...lp:Game_Problem

If your problem still isn't fixed, try pulling the mod out and trying again. If it works, it could be the mod. If it doesn't work, try posting in the Sims 2 Help forums here.

Just a question : So without this mod elders cannot have a part time job in uni careers even if they went to college?

I love using these career sin my game, but I just has a teen reach the top of the artist career and noticed it starts at 11AM on fridays. Is that intentional? Are they supposed to skip school on fridays? It's also a really long shift for a part-time job from 11 to 3pm

Correct, because the part time version of uni careers did not exist.

Yes that's right. In my game, teens become independent 4 days before adulthood, so this works well for me, I switch them to Inge's custom "Flexi School" which means they do not have to go to school any more. I also have a custom school (not currently uploaded anywhere) which has no school on Fridays. I made an entire teen job-and-school overhaul system, that I hosted on dropbox and posted on simbology, but it's gone now as that has all been taken down. I will at some point upload all of these to MTS, but MTS requires screenshots and some other things so I don't know when I'll get around to it.

If you want to change the times of the careers here, you can easily open them in SimPE and open within Bidou's Career Editor and change the times to anything that you like. I don't intend to release them with more typical times. (I don't mind if someone else wants to).

Hi, I just got these teen careers that EAxis did not provide, it fills a gap now that I got a mod to enable any Sim, even without a degree, to enter these career tracks. For this I thank you!

However, I'd like to report a few issues I have seen when I tested the careers in an isolated test neighbourhood.

I play in a language that isn't English US - my game is set to English UK instead. I, too, was not able to see the Show Business career when I tried assigning it to a teen both using the Sim Blender, and by Shift-clicking the newspaper.
Looking into SimPE I can see that the Show Business career retains the localised names of the Medicine career in any language that isn't English US, so for example, in the German game this career would be called "Medizin" instead.
The other three teen careers are correctly set to the English name, or emptied out for non-English US languages.

I also observed that most of the chance card texts are off, even in English US. They do get the Level 1 chance card right, but Levels 2 and 3 are either shifted or entirely wrong.
And yes, these are all set to appear in the game, because BCON 0x1057 has all values set to 1.

Please ignore the Sim's name and just concentrate on the issue.

Please fix this, thank you... ^^;

Hey just seeing this message.

I would have created these in an English-UK game and playtested them like that. I will have to check them again - it's been so long since I've created them, that I honestly don't remember what I did except that I remember using Bidou's Career Editor to create them.

I don't know exactly when I'll get time to look at it, but just to say I'm now aware of this and will look into it!
