Very nice. I don't have a use for it now, but I could see this being extremely handy, especially for movies!

Wow now this is great! I had some doubts about the usefulness of invisible recolors of things, but this makes perfect sense actually. The other things are pretty much useless. Great job on this, hope to see more from you!

yeah, it makes so much sense, I wonder why noone else had this idea before! Thanks for thinking of it and sharing!

PS: Maybe you could add a tipp to your post in case one is totally lost where the invisible speakers have been placed: Starting the game with you recolors removed from the downloads folder will make them visible.

Normally I just hide 'em behind pillars or in trees, but now I'll only have to do that with the non-recolorable ones! Thanks!

Brilliant idea! I try to put the speakers when I don't want them to be visible, but this is of course much, much better. I can't believe nobody has though of this before - it's a good thing you did!

psychosim0, you can always aim for the blue music effect if you've lost your speakers...

Thank you all for the encouragement!

Yes, the visual effects are a dead giveway to where the speakers actually are.

It always blows my mind when someone manages something so simple. That is to say that it's such an amazingly basic idea, but the rest of us were too stupid to think of it!

Hell, I only JUST realized that the radio and these speakers can be used to create constant atmospheric noise/music.

You're not wrong, but nontheless the blue music effect isn't a giveaway if one has Numenors effect remover mod...
Though of course your tip could as well be "start the game without numenors mod" instead of what I suggested first.

Guardgian and Claeric - I'm pleased you will find this project useful.

psychosim0 - yes, either method would work if you got stuck, wouldn't it? Otherwise I have a mental image of clicking all over the place trying to find that annoying speaker!

Default Invisible Speaker Recolours: Smaller Filesize Update
I have now reposted these recolours with a saving of about 30% in filesize. Since they were already very small this really is a trivial update, but I thought I'd better confess to my obsessiveness!

How come there aren't any invisible recolors for the BV speakers?

From Post #1:

The remaining wall speakers were either not recolourable or had portions that were not recolourable and therefore could not be made invisible in this way.

Wow, this is a wonderful idea! Thanks so much, Sophie-David! I've only just discovered the custom radio ability on Sims 2 (ahem, for providing atmospheric Andrew Lloyd Webberness for my Phantom Sims). Now my Sims can listen to the 'Music of the Night' without appearing as though the mysterious Opera Ghost has a part-time spot on 'Pimp My Lair'...;P

Yes, the ability to replace music is wonderful! In my medieval (Gwyrch) neighbourhood, the only modern music I hear is for the game intro.
