FranH,

No, not in-game.
One still has to close the game before running LotAdjuster to resize lots or else...

YAAAAAAAY. ;D

I can't wait to test this out on my game.

I have a question, what is an alleyway, I mean I know what an alleyway is, but what does it mean to have an alleyway in-game?

Also, has the 'Rowhouse' method of making a lot smaller to make it go to the very edges been proven false? (Pb has many threads up about it ;P)

If yes, does building one tile off of the lot's boundary still work out fine? No glitches or anything?

And also, I'm assuming that a corner lot is like the Broke's house in Pleasantview, correct?

(xD so many questions)

thank you so much! I've had a lot that I originally built too big that I've wanted to finish up for a year but didn't want to rebuild on a smaller lot. This was just the ticket. It worked great!

poplers,

shrinking to the *very edge* of the lot has been found to be unsafe -- it caused crashes and data corrption for some people, so this is why it's not an option now.

However, we have found no problems with shrinking up to one tile from the boundary with a new version of the LotExpander (that has now become the LotAdjuster) -- even now that we know what to look for and how to "force" a corrupt lot to crash, nobody crashed with any of the test uploads and not a single glitch has been reported.

The LotAdjuster handles shrinking differently from the old LE; it'll prevent you from doing anything dangerous. If you look at the discussion thread in R+D you'll see that this has been tested very thoroughly, for several months now .. it very much looks like shrinking to a one-tile limit is something the game can handle just fine.

An alleyway is a road which runs at the back of your house, ie. parallel roads. For example, you might want to put your garage at the back of the house and leave the front of the house for carpools, buses, taxis, and service vehicles. Or, you might want to have a "service road" at the back, which the maid, gardener, handyperson, etc. use, and leave the front of your lot for other visitors.

If you add road(s) to your lot, the LotAdjuster does its best to place your portals, but you will probably want to use the Portal Revealer and buyable portals to specify the types of vehicles which use the new roads:

If you had a better (or alternate) name for alleyways, please let me know. I must admit that I was unsure what to call this style of lot. I took the name from a style of house common to the area where I live. The main road runs at the front of the house and a private road with garages is at the back.

Just FYI: we are looking at ways to reduce the restrictions on shrinking. It's possible that we can get closer to the ideal of rowhouses than we currently are. However, I wanted to get this version out, so that everyone can play with it, while we work on trying to find the minimal set of restrictions which produce "safe" lots.

Oh, thank you so much for this new version. I had a lot that I expanded the wrong way because I cannot tell the right from left and it's been sitting in my lot bin since. Now I can properly shrink it back! Thank you so much for sharing.

Fantastic. Thank you so much. I loved the lot expander and I will love this just as much. I have been wanting the ability to shrink lots as well. :*)

No, the LotAdjuster modifies lots, not neighborhoods. With the LotAdjuster, you can add or remove roads from your lot.

If you want to add or remove roads from your neighborhood, you need to use HoodReplace:

There's a tutorial available in the thread:
http://www.modthesims2.com/showthre...389#post1920389

Note that you will need SimCity 4 / Rush Hour / Deluxe to add roads to your neighborhood.

I actually meant that you can change the lots that you're playing-but not in-game, of course; I phrased it wrong. I haven't changed any yet, but I'm sure that it will come in handy. I got SimPE about 3 weeks ago, along with the NET 2.0 framework, so it's all coming together nicely.
Anyway, a great contribution-and it deserves the "featured downloads" star!

can we modifie beach lots?

The Bible contains 6 admonishments to homosexuals and 362 admonishments to heterosexuals. That doesn't mean that God doesn't love heterosexuals. It's just that they need more supervision. - L. Lavner

Yes, mutantbunny has done a set of smaller empty beach lots using one of the private test versions of this program... sorry that I don't have the link handy. But, he might be able to give you some pointers.
