Theme Suggestions
 

Hello!

We are taking suggestions for upcoming themes here in this thread. Please post suggestions down below, plus vote on others' suggestions (by hitting agree or disagree) as well. Later we will be coming out with a poll made up of some of the most liked ideas. Then the members can all vote for the next theme! One vote per member

So to that end, please list one idea (with an explanation if required) per response, so other members can choose to agree with the decision or not.

If we have several well liked ideas, we will throw the ones that aren't voted in, into our hat of choices at each theme time to see which is drawn next. (okay in reality they will go on our list and get chosen from down the road, but sounds more interesting the other way )

So please post away! Make suggestions! Just remember we ARE a pg 13 site... :D

Elders! They are always forgotten...more clothing!!! Yay!!!

Business / community lot theme. Basically anything that will add to things outside of home, whether it be rabbit hole features or things we can see.

Pick a Pack! Pick an expansion/stuff/game pack from Maxis and add, fix or expand on something from the pack.

Back to school. Dorms or any building you'd see on a campus (COFFEE!), school clothes, etc.

Apocalypse

Period themes. There's a lot of medieval and victorian things out there, which is wonderful, but other eras are not represented so much. (e.g.: Wild West, 1950s or 1960s, prehistoric, roaring 20's,30th century...)

SPACE - be it the Final Frontier or an Oddity - there should be something for everyone in space

Ooh, that would be really cool. I'm sure everyone has a pack that they wish had more content. That way we could all have a little bit of that.

My suggestion would be something somewhat similar - a Your Favourite Decade theme, where people make some stuff styled after, or related to a decade or an era they're really fond of. Basically like 70s/80s/90s Stuff but more broad. I can imagine that'd be a lot of fun.

I Think A Pack Theme/Base Game To Fix Thing In The Game From The Base Game Or A EA Pack Like Making A Hair Look Better Or Making Something Like Adding More Presets Like Adding A New Icecream Garnish From Cool Kitchen Stuff And This Is Based Off Of Honeywell's Suggestion Because I Thought It Was Brilliant.

The World is Bigger than This.

There are things that nobody uses, because they are not terribly useful... Make them more useful. There are life stages that tend to get less attention than adult/young adult females for things like clothing and hair. (Males, elders, and toddlers come to mind) Make things for them. There are bits of architecture in build mode that need to have a lot designed for them in order to look good.

Basically, do something with the parts of the game that are more commonly overlooked.

Kings and Queens.

Themed uploads relating to the monarchies of different nations and cultures from all around the world, not just the ones with upcoming royal weddings.
It could cover creations of architecture and decor, gowns and crowns, royalty, both past and present, from all over the globe in sim-form.

Countries and culture

Food, maps, clothing, from all around the world

It's the 3rd month in row that I'm voting for Adventures in Accessibility on GoS month theme poll but it never wins. I realise it's a highly specific topic to deal with but I'd still love it to get more attention.
So yeah, content that focuses on disabilities and neurodiversity.

Transport - anything to do with road, rail, ships, air. There's not a lot out there (apart from neighbourhood deco).

University - I can always do with new stuff for Uni

So many fantastic suggestions! I know mine won't be chosen to come after this Catch Up, but just seeing those older theme stickers at the bottom of my Achievements page has often made me wish I could go back and earn them. Maybe down the road a bit we could have another Catch Up where those 2015 themes could be included? They were great themes too -- Beach, Fitness, Maxis Makeover, Around the World, Men, College, Vintage, and Winter Wonderland.

Sim-Comic-Con - Like Comic-Con, but sims style.

Got Books? Build a library, make reading campaign materials (posters, etc), make something inspired by a favorite book, tweak the writing skill in some way, make a bookworm sim.

Diversity & Disabilities

Gardening?
New plants, trees, bushes..flowers. Decorations, such as..potted plants, gardening tools. New Patio/garden furniture. Terrain paint...Face-full-of-dirt- face paint...lol
Default outfit for the gardeners, or simply gardening outfits for our sims, etc.

Pop Culture
Books (Harry Potter, twilight, hunger games ect)
Horror
Vampire/Victorian (Not much I can find that I like...)

If you have multiple ideas for themes, please make a post for each. People can't really agree to show they like a theme if there's multiples per post. Well, they can but we wont know which one they are agreeing to

Remember in Sims 2 when you could buy cool steampunk themed items in the store? Yeah, I miss that.

Elder clothes using the original Maxis meshes. Recolors, shoe swaps, for those of us who don't mind their shape. The shapes don't bother me, the drab colors and old fashion prints do. Oh, and shoes, too many 'weak' ankle looks or barely any ankle, looks painful to me. Personally I don't like seeing my elders wearing the exact same clothes as teens, YAs or adults, and there are other choices around for those who don't care for Maxis shapes. (:

Mod Your Hood

Hood Deco! Maybe there's some unique buildings or structures from one of the SimCity games that you'd like to import, to fill out your hood. Maybe athletic fields or a large statue of someone or something. Maybe a dome or a giant observatory? Maybe you want a Pentagon or an Eiffel Tower or some other kind of sim-based landmark? ...like a Simlish "HOLLYWOOD" sign. Maybe you want some new kinds of flowers or trees, or just a better selection? Greenhouses or more farm equipment? Mills! Places where sim's careers can take place. Your sim goes of to work... but where?? Schools! Highways and overpasses. Maybe you want a railroad, with an old steam engine that goes into a tunnel through your mountains? Perhaps you would like an abandoned mine shaft? Perhaps you want to see wild mustangs or maybe vultures circling overhead in your scorching 118ºF desert. Maybe you want teepees and smoke signals for your western neighborhood? An aqueduct! New rocks boulders! A trickling stream, so when you have a stream running through your sim's back yard it doesn't look like a fissure in the earth, that happens to start and end at the edges of the property? heck with streams, how about rivers!

Anything to add to the most neglected of ALL the CC categories: hood deco! Just think of all the possibilities! They're damn near endless! That's my suggestion. And there's more where that came from, too!

Hi there!

Has there been a decision on the theme? If not, I just want to second the request for period themes, and in particular 1920's/1930's, as I think there really are many gaps, from clothes (male and female, and for different ages) and even hairstyles to bodyshop accessories (hats, for instance), or things like DRs - carpool replacements, please!!! There are lovely pictures and designs on the internet, and there are some conversions from other games that could be made to help with this theme - some of which I still am surprised to see they haven't been made. Just a few suggestions...

I'm voting on this one for Horror. (And I'm including 'vampire' in with 'horror'...)

With all the interest in periods/eras of history - can we revisit, and maybe re-open the "Challenges" here on MTS2?
They included: The Ancients, Old Hollywood, Fairytale, Farm/Rural, SciFi, Victorian London, Neanderthal, Stuff for Kids, and Medieval.
They are listed (for TS2, anyway) at the top of the Download page under "Challenge Themes" - but they are not open for entries anymore.
So my personal achievements page says: This member has not entered any challenges!
And, I would really like to remedy that - by entering each of the "challenges"!

stuff related to the creatures; mods/hacks, sim parts.

Stuff related to custom foods from any culture and custom books of any genre (fiction, poetry, and nonfiction).

This is my first time participating in the forum but what about Teenagers?
Since there is no university for them to attend before joining the workforce (in TS4 at least), let them have a blast in their dwindling period of carefree childhood.
Graffiti, skateboards, concert, or whatever these rambunctious young sims are up to these days

Heroes and heroics, which could include anything related to comic book type superheros, other hero type characters such as Robin Hood and Zorro, more everyday heroes like firefighters, medical personnel, police, etc. (Basically, however you interpret "hero" and "heroic" and how that could related to Sims CC.)
