My Pleasantview is borked and many of those houses don't appear in my lot bin when in other neighbourhoods anyway. It's easy enough to find empty Maxis houses to download and it doesn't have to be Pleasantview does it.

You should be able to reset Pleasantview, then go in and put the houses in the bin. Just be sure to move the inhabitants of the occupied houses out, first. Don't forget the tiny, invisible house in the upper right corner. That's the one I want to see.

I was led to believe you shouldn't put any house that has every been occupied in the bin, even if it no longer occupied. Is this not correct?

However, ya'll the houses do not have to be unoccupied. Unoccupied (never occupied) lots only matter if ya plan on either you usin it in another neighborhood or sharing it with someone else who'll put it in one of their neighborhoods.

I use Jawusa clean and empty Maxis pre-made hoods to do all my work in.

Ok ya'll .. I've posted two houses ... where is everyone elses? Don't leave me hangin here lookin all silly by myself :P

.. and just as a reminder this is for ALL pre-made lots/ houses not just Pleasantville. I myself am more of a Pleasantview person so those are what I've mostly done, but that doesn't mean ya'll have to stay with Pleasantview. Did you redmodel a community lot, a bin house, or a university from any of Strangetown, Veronaville, Riverblossom, Bluewater .. or any other neighborhood? If you remodeled it in your own hood, but it's still a Maxis pre-made, that works too. The only thing I ask is that they are original footprint of Maxis pre-built lots.

C'mon, c'mon .. I wanna see ya'lls too :D

You can see my remodels

Here: Ranch retreat http://modthesims.info/download.php?t=556857
Here: Broke http://modthesims.info/download.php?t=525926

I haven't remolded any others for a long time since I don't really use maxis hoods or houses. Most of my sims live in either self made or Plasticbox made houses. I deleted the bin ones.

Oh, I've remodeled it many times; it's almost unplayable if you don't. I just fill out the foundation and draw big boxes to make more rooms. Sometimes, I'll even add outside staircases and build vertically. It makes the house look like it's about to tip over that way.

I really have no imagination when it comes to building. I've seen people on here talk about looking up plans and buying books of house plans. I'm just not organized or disciplined enough for that approach. That's why I really like to download houses.

And, I never knew you weren't supposed to put houses that had been lived in back in the bin. It's probably a VBT, too, isn't it? Well, that tears it. Once a house is plopped in my hoods, it's going to stay plopped forever. Is it okay to bulldoze it, though?

Cyjon has a thingy that tells you if a lot is safe to delete, I don’t remember its name, but you just click it in the catalogue without even placing it on the lot and it shows a notification saying that a lot is safe to delete or that it isn’t because it found graves or off-world loiterers or something.
And if you want many copies of the same lot, bin it before moving in any sims.

Can I post pics of a house even if I changed exterior walls, or should I stick only to those I haven’t changed? (I have one unchanged from the lot bin, this one.)

OHM! Kiss and hugs and look! Here have some cookies. I just imagined them up just for you.

Thank you a thousand, billion times.

BTW, if there's any other clueless person out there besides me, it's called the Lot Inspector. I'm going to stick one on every lot I use from now on.
Do you know, though, if it's safe to reuse a lot after it's been razed?

Don’t put the Lot Inspector on a lot, just click on it in the catalogue like you were to preview recolours or wanted to place it but haven’t done it yet, and it’ll immediately tell you whether a lot is safe to delete

Based on what my dictionary said, I think by razed you mean bulldozed, so I don’t think it’s worth it, and may not be safe (I only use it on empty lots I just placed if I decide I actually want them in a slightly different place, like a bit more to the left or something, but I guess if you use it on a lot that has something on it it’ll remove everything leaving an empty lot). Just delete the lot completely and place a new one, that seems the safest.

how do you delete a lot?

to delete a lot; safest way would be to first make sure there are no sim references attached then bulldoze it.

Yes, bulldozing an empty lot deletes it. It should be safe to do so if you checked the lot with Lot Inspector before bulldozing anything.

Default "invisable house in corner" - in Pleasantville

I've posted a house I've done; did more but don't want to be the only one posting! Took a look at Capp Manor in Veronaville - geez, I'd forgotten how whack it is! Skinny house on a huge lot - must take an hour to get to the front door; pointless fireplaces (even one in a hallway);5 extra couches just to take up room in wasted areas. Without changing the "foot print" I can't re-do it.

I have changed porches in a few houses because of routing problems...don't think I'm supposed to.

Never noticed that tiny cabin (referred to as "..invisible tiny lot"..in Pleasantview)I gave it a loft for a bed, took out the stove (that pot-belly stoves COOKS), added a table. Took out the shower in the yard (!) and put a tub and toilet downstairs. I would have just put a tub in the kitchen, and an outhouse, but trying to follow rules. On the other hand, why would a mountain man need to bath?

Stand up, speak out. Just not to me..
