I like the orgenized look as well as the preview , but is there any way to view all of the new object threads together? It's very time consuming to go through all of the subforums  .

Are you guys still working on moving meshes? I just noticed that some of mine are not in the correct section yet.

Btw, great job on the reorganization... it is much easier to find things now.

Some of the content was "mass moved" and some was moved by hand -- therefore, some of the downloads may have been moved into the wrong category.

If you see something that's out of place, please let us know. We need the actual link/url of the misplaced download in order to move it to the correct category. (By the way, moving threads will *not* change the thread's link/url -- it only changes the forum heading that the thread appears under.)

faeriegurl, do you have the links to your misplaced meshes? Or are you wondering where to find them, or ...?

find things, yes faeriegurl, then you right. But let me ask this...

what is the point of a forum and thread specific search engine if we have to be practicly escorted by the bold letters of the forum to find what we are looking for now?

I won't lie or sugar coat my opinion. I do not like downloads v2. It seems it was made specifically for the user in mind and i understand this, but for the uploaders, this queue thing is absolutely horrible.

*stomps around, throws fit, calms down, drinks coffee*

BTW Can someone please move my thread to the "mesh sets" forum? Last night, i saw you were moving stuff around and stuck a little note at the top saying it was a set. lol.. sorry, i sure sound very um.. un complacent today.

I hate to think that anyone reading this thinks that im just being a jerk.

Let me say first and foremost what you have done to the site other then dlsv2 is awesome. I'm very happy with the addition of this second server and the speed is wonderful, some new forums and categories you have added were very needed imo, just, to quote a certain member of the site, im not a happy bunny this morning.

These should be in Genetics > Body Meshes (I think):

This should be in Genetics Meshes > Accessory Meshes:

This should be in Objects Meshes > Hobbies (I saw another keyboard was in hobbies so it should be there rather than in electronics):

thefuzmixman - I'm very sorry you hate the new downloads section and yes, it is more for the user than the uploader. I'm not thrilled about the queue thing either but it will make the downloads section more organized and prevent people from posting stupid threads in the wrong sections. If you have a big problem with this, you should probably take it up with Delphy.

Btw, thanks to all the admins for all your hard work moving the downloads and everything... it must have been very tedious & time consuming. So anyway, thanks - this site is the best! :D

thefuzmixman,

I've gone ahead and moved your thread to Mesh Sets - thanks for the heads up.

With regards to uploads, these have always been added to the queue system for the downloads section - ie they where moderated.

With the amalgamation of Betas into Downloads v2, we've added moderation only on *some* sections. But again, this is no different to how it was with the Downloads v1.

I'm a bit confused as to what you actually want us to do

Please clarify.

Delphy

This is great! Everything is organized nice and neat great job!

Now if there was only a filter to block out the "which folder does this go in?" and "can you make this a .zip?" questions, that would be heaven. lol

themaltesebippy,

There already is I implemented one earlier today so that all downloads forums can ONLY have threads posted to them when they contain actual downloads.

Simple question threads will be told to post in a more appropriate forum.

With regards to misplaced threads:

If you are a creator, and you realize that your thread is in the wrong forum or category, please scroll up to the top of the screen. If you see the word "Archive" in the forum location, it means that your thread hasn't been moved yet. (At the top of the screen, it would say "mod the sims 2 > Forums > Downloads v2 > Archive - Sims 2 Downloads")

At this point, everything that *can* be mass moved as already been mass moved. We've got about 1,000 more downloads to be handmoved out of the Archive by a crew of 5 moderators. This will take some time

But if you happen to be browsing in the new downloads section, and you notice something really out of place (i.e. Clothing in the "Housing and Lots" forum), please let us know and give us the link if possible

Thanks for your patience!

thanks for moving my thread

I'm confused too. Last night i was checking my thread via the quick links/subscribed thread. There was a sticky at the top stating that upload now go into a queue system in order to be approved. In the mesh set forum, i see that same sticky, but i've never encountered that before submitting beta downloads. So, now essentially what you have done is taken the beta downloads and amalgamized them together with the regular downloads? See, I've never submitted to the regular download section so that is a drastic change to me.

thefuzmixman,

The sticky information that's showing up, at least as of when I went to bed this morning, isn't correct.

If it did not require approval to be uploaded to the Betas section, it still does not require approval to be uploaded to the new Downloads section. That includes Meshes, Recolors, Hacks, Careers, Foods and so on. Also Walls and Floors used to require approval and at the moment they do not, but I'm not sure if it will change for walls and floors.

Basic guide I went by is if it can be easily shared on the Exchange, it requires approval here. That's the content made with Bodyshop and the Lots.

I'll fix the announcements in the forums asap.

On another note, going through so much of these uploads by hand, I've seen a lot of things that I'd never seen before and I'm just blown away by the amount of talent around here in all the categories. Wow!

Motoki,

You can post about your ideas right here, in the site wishlist, or by PM to someone on the staff. S'up to you. What we do to provide a better testing environment for those modders who want to run serious beta tests is open for discussion, and the input of any modders or serious testers is welcome... and then some. In other words, the more thoughts we have on it, the better.

Well reading through all the new posts, I've deffinetly decided to give it a try and deal with the new layout. Though is there a way to view all threads in a main forum without browsing all the subs?

Off T: Can anyone point me to a program for .rar that works pretty much like WinZip? WinRAR has the annoying "Trial Expired" popup, PLUS it always wants to uncompress into the same folder it's in, where WinZIP keeps the last directory used.

I don't like the new sistemation of the downloads...
too many sections... too many pages to open to look for updates...
I've always loved your clothing but now to see if there's somethin' new I have to open at least 10 sections...
And the new items aren't even in the posting order but all mixed up... so I have to look to all pages of a section to find the new stuff...

I'm really really sorry because almost everything that is in my game comes from MTS2 but I don't have the time to look throuhout all the download section everyday... so I'm going to miss some of your beautiful works and this makes me really sad...
But you're always the best.

With respect

I have a couple of suggestions.

A) Create a new link based on the "New Posts" link that shows only the new posts in the download forums.
b) Show the thumbnail that you added in the forum preview to the "New Download Posts" preview.
c) Group by Sub Forum
d) Sort them by last posted date time

I think if you could do these things that would get rid of any of the complaints on the new format.
