I wasn't aware that mentioning points in a clear, concise, and non-confrontational manner was now considered 'whining'.

Wow, that's incredibly rude. All Rose was asking for--and I agree with her point--is that people who DON'T WANT to see "adult stuff" don't have to, in order to find traditional art.

And what's the call for the "wank it to" the Virgin Mary? Do you HAVE to be obscene about religion? Some people take it seriously, even though you obviously despise it. Can we respect others here, or is that too much for you to do?

Patel -

All those examples will be moved to the adult site. The examples I posted, which lyric deleted to stay consistant with the new rules were; Venus on the Half Shell, Liberty Leading the People, and a Diego Rivera painting.

Though I probably gave Lyric an aneurysm, which was never my intention, I did air out my objections and the reasons for them.

Through PM with HystericalParoxysm I gained this perspective:

1. I feel that my thoughts and feelings have been heard.

2. This is not something that any of the moderators want to do. It is, however that they must do to keep MTS2 alive.

3. They are having to do this quickly and there are some hiccups -- this classic/relgious art problem is one of them. I was asked to trust that they will iron this out in time with a livable solution -- and I'm going to do that.

I do think, however, that the only way to keep 13 yo off the adult content site is to make it a pay site. (just a thought)

MTS2 is a valuable site, and one that I will only post certain types of material. Also if it weren't for them, I couldn't do recolors and am an absolute disaster when it comes to making meshes (I have an Islamic Prayer Clock that I have been working on for 6 months. Not only can I not get it into the game, but somehow I also deleted the maxis object it came from)

Anyway, maintaining a site/database is not free. I own and operate many sites that have free content. MTS2 is huge, and their operating costs must be rather large. So I do encourage all who can to donate -- however with Paypal off line, how does one do that?

P.S.Lyric - that post wasn't whining... it was a clumsy objection to a sexist policy that is being imposed on you. One of the illustrative ways to point out the inequality and sexism of a policy like that is to go further and make men put shirts on. Hey if girls have to . . . (can you tell I spent a lot of time in Women's Studies?)

*************
Don't forget to say "thank you" to Sims2 creators and recolorers (is that a word?) And support this site!

Thanks, for all your posts and thanks. I often don't have time to respond, but they make my day and warm my heart.

This is Paypal again, isn't it?

Great how Paypal/Ebay are imposing their narrow-minded view of socio-ethics on an quite international site.

But how do they explain the ban of classic art? Their "Mature Audiences Policy" is some kind of bad joke, as it is a rubber-paragraph and says nothing precise. It would be a point of argueing here. Okay, I know, it's not worth the time...

I cannot find any hint in their policy that nipples are forbidden just because they are nipples... If this all is really so, I will try to take this to a friend who is an editor of a german magazine. Maybe he's interested doing an article on how Paypal/Ebay try to work as an international "upholder of moral standards" where no one has asked them to.

happy simming,

So whose Idea was it?
I don't believe it comes from the MTS2 staff.
Is it PayPal?
Is it the US? If so, I'm so glad I live in Germany. I read the criteria of the German law-approved organization for checking what age content needs to be restricted to, and they say that nudity alone doesn't qualify for sexuality.

Why is the US / PayPal (if it is just them) so prudish? Germany didn't become a country of rapists and young nymphos from it.

However, I better should not start a political rant (or if I already did, continue with it).

Edit:
Well, about PayPal:

* Literary, artistic, political, or scientific value.

I see that very few people agree with this ukase . It is a money problem, MTS2 needs money to exist and its sponsor asks him, therefore asks us certain sacrifices .
Fortunately the site “S… sims2” exist.
Je hais la censure !
But what to do ?

You know a site allowing re-upload of free build/buy stuff in lots ? Help us to update the list !

Default i dont agree but...
I hate any form of censorship, it is a direct crime to freedom, and any violators will suffer the consequenses sooner or later, the fact that i cant even swear on this goody two shoe site without being censored by some emo brat with a moderators account is bad enough. But i do try to cope with this new change, sadly you have made it harder than it has to be. I did go to that site and i did create an account....which for some reason no longer works! Also u removed the link to the new site so i, and many with me no longer remember the address to this new adult site. At least put a well visible link to the site as you did with sapphire sims.

I completely agree with you sabra. I don't understand why it is considered a crime to post a question and then to have the answer put in a mocking and demeaning way...by both the moderators and other users of this site. It is totally uncalled for and immature.

On the subject of art, I cannot understand why Michelangelo's David would be considered "adult" in any way, shape, or form. It is a statue of the human body in it's most natural form and we are going to classify one of the greatest works of art as porn?

Okay, first off, hi all.

I actually asked Lyric to post a news article up about this basically stating that we would be going through and moving all adult themed content to the other site. I did not expect people to get into a huge debate on what is and isn't adult, what is and isn't censorship, and so on - that's not what the purpose of this thread is for.

Back when we split off Sims2Community, people complained, they moaned, they threatened, they left the site totally... just becuase a few forums where moved to another site. Ultimately though, the move let *both* sites grow and expand in thier own directions, and the time has come to do the same with regards to adult content, and the general overall downloads/help/creating viewpoint here on MTS2.

Ultimately, we have rules, and rules need to be followed (which reminds me, some people (Brutuz) need to seriously read the signature rules). We decided to take this step not just becuase of Paypal, but also becuase of the splitting of the adult content we did a few weeks back in order to, as I have said, grow both sites.

Anybody who visits a URL for adult content that used to be on MTS2 will be shown a page where you can get the new URL for the site. Additionally, I will not be listing it in the "Hosted Sites" box, since it's not a non-MTS2 site that's hosted by us which is the purpose of that box.

The URL for the seperate site is http://www.sexysims2.com/ - this URL will be removed from this thread once all content has been moved.

Now, I don't want to see debates on censorship, nipples, etc here - we do have an Off Topic or Debate Room forum on Sims2Community you know.

Regards,
Delphy

The Paysite thing was a Joke guys. Honestly it will never happen I just needed a laugh.

Sims as I said before are FINE. You dont need to edit your sims.

I will see about working out new categories on the adult site for classic art and adult art.

I have a question. How do we upload to the Adult site? Do we still upload here or do we have a way to do it over there?

Cool, thanks.

EDT: Ok, one more question and I promise to leave you all alone. What kind of sex stuff can we upload? Can we upload something like recolors that show intercourse? like pics for the sim's walls or wallpaper? I looked in the guidelines, but found nothing to answer the question. (not saying it isn't there, just saying I could find it. )

The same rules apply as did before for adults. Nothing what so ever showing penetration is allowed.
Pictures belong in frames and not on walls, Only exception is a mural.

The URL for the new adult site is http://www.sexysims2.com

Adults who are members here should be members there too, no need to re-register (at least it worked for me like that).

I can see why the content is being moved. since this is a free site, ANYONE should be able to safely browse and download at their liesure without being offended in any way. I have nephews and Nieces that like to play the Sims2, and if they want to get clothes or whatnot, they should be able to do so without seeing things they shouldn't see yet.

I know some of the art is considered " iffy" but when in doubt, send it out. I guess thats including anything drug related, profane language and nudity. I suppose that also means anything graphically gory as well.

Thanks to the moderators for all of their help, and thank you all for keeping this site free!
