Default What is going on with SFS?
I cant download nothing from SFS ...it goes to a error page or an eternal load page. Anyone else with this problem?
I am Brazilian but I live in Switzerland!!!!

The site is down for me at this time.

I don't know what's going on, but tbh it has been quite slow in the past two weeks.

I suggest to keep an eye on the SFS tumblr, although the last update is some days old.

I'm getting a 504 Gateway Time-out. Means the server isn't getting a response from another server. Different causes for it. Changes in the DNS, server being overloaded/unreachable, or something's misconfigured.

It's been sluggish for over a week for me, and now I can't access it at all. So, I've just been making a list of things I need to go back and download (as the majority of simmers appear to be exclusively using it to host their content and no longer use back-up links) once it's back up. Such as life.

Same thing happening to me, I've tried everything only to realise it's probably a maintenance issue on their side. Hopefully it gets fixed soon, it's such a great website!

Did a little digging. SFS is hosted by a service called Online SAS/Scaleway. AMS1 Compute API (some sort of server management) is suffering an outage at the time of this posting. Might be that. Not necessarily.

Back up for me as well! And I'm actually glad to hear others were having problems--I just assumed my internet company was slowing down my internet for sites they don't deem safe and was mentally preparing myself for a yelling match with Verizon. The company has been getting on my nerves a bunch lately, from random slow downs to flagging sim sites like simlogical as malicious, so glad to hear they aren't actually at fault this time!

Oh thank goodness - glad to hear it's back up! Like @Phantomknight I was about to start harranging my ISP and my roommate both for slowing down my cc binge (I just happened to choose yesterday to purge and redownload all my hair, clothes, and defaults!

I remember seeing a message that they'll schedule maintenance for the weekend. Not exactly sure which day, and for how long though.

The current SFS message...

"Update 13th April: We've reverted back to the old hosting while the new provider fixes issues with the object storage system. Note that no download counter tracking will be logged for the next few days. "

My understanding is they were planning to move to a new server or something like that, I'm not at all techy. This was meant to happen on the 10th as why it was down for all of the 10th. But I think something went wrong with the new one and it's still not quite fixed.

You can still download from SFS (for the moment), but you need to make sure the link looks like this
https://simfileshare.net/download/NUMBER/
(it has the message about the old hosting site)

If it has any other format, for instance like these
https://simfil.es/NUMBER/
https://www.simfileshare.net/download/NUMBER/
You won't be able to download.
(These links have the "Downloads are currently unavailable" message, and no Download button - but you can use the URL above and replace the number with the ones in the bad links, and they'll work)

If you get a network error message (happens about 50% of the time for me), try to click back with the arrow, and usually the download will pop up. This has been an issue for a while.
