Default (Solved) Painting problems with the newer updates
I've created several paintings that work fine in v6.1 but haven't been able to get them to work with v1.2 or newer.

I've tried s30c and TSR Workshop. I've looked in the files with s3pe, But don't know enough about the coding to be able to figure it out.

Any Ideas?

Thanks
Tim

The current game version is 1.42... What game version did these work in? (Version numbers can only increase... there is no version higher than 1.42.)

And do you have the most current version of S3OC/S3PE and/or TSRW?

You really need to provide more than just v1.2 or v6.1 for us to know what you are talking about.

V1.2 of what program? same with v6.1!

Those are game versions? Did you use an EP/SP object as your clone? That could be why it doesn't work with only base game. Update your game.

I have the newest versions of S3OC S3PE and TSRW? I've also tried older versions of TSRW and no luck.

I have a dual boot setup and run v6.1.11.009001 on XP Pro and any painting I create shows up in buy mode. But In my Windows 7 Pro boot, Game v1.38.151.018001 they don't show up in buy mode.

They quit showing up in v1.22 and newer game version buy mode.

It's driving me nutty trying to figure it out.

We are confused because there is no TS3 base game version 6.1 Is that an EP version? Can't compare EP versions with basegame versions.

Edit: OK, looks like that was a version of Late Night, corresponding to base game version 1.18.9. Information on version numbers here: http://simswiki.info/wiki.php?title...elp:Patch_Table

So did you try using the art assets and re-creating the objects in the current version of S3OC/PE?

I was getting the info from the version.tag in the documents directory.

This is from the game directory. skuversion.txt

This works;
GameVersion = 1.18.9.009001
Code:0.RL-2.0.128
Asset:1.Content.rl.40
Thumbnails:1.Thumbnail.dl.933
TCC:1.TCC.dl.1209
CiderVersion#004531

This doesn't;
GameVersion = 1.38.151.018001
Code:0.RL-2.0.165
Asset:1.Content.rl.19
Thumbnails:1.Thumbnail.ml.97
TCC:1.TCC.dl.1209

What objects are you using for your clones? Are they base game or EP/SP?

It's cloned from a SN painting, it won't work unless you have SN installed. That's why it works in your 6.xx and not your 1.xx.

What is a SN painting. and v6.1 is really v1.18 and it works there, Not in the version I cloned it from. I guess the confusion comes from the launcher shows me on XP as version v6.1.11.009001 which is game version 1.18.9.009001.

Windows 7 launcher is version 15.0.138.18001 which is game version 1.38.151.018001.

So v6.1 is not newer than 1.38 but older.

Default Problem Solved
I feel dumb now. I had a error in my Resource.cfg file. After the last update I didn't change a couple of paths in the file.

Thanks everyone.
