This user has the following games installed:

Sims 3, World Adventures, Ambitions, Late Night, Generations, Pets, Showtime, Supernatural, Seasons, University Life, Island Paradise, Into the Future
Where To Place Sims
Ok so I see you have a few sims now

I read the instructions

but I am not finding a SavedSims folder, do I need to create that?

Yes you do need to create that if one does not exist. Make sure it is typed "SavedSims" without the quotations. Then follow the instructions that you quoted in your post.
