All My Plumbbobs
So this is like the 4th? conceptual iteration of this long standing project of mine. This time though I think I got a good groundwork to go on to make this one last. I'm going to be incorporating a ton of Maxis cast though so it'll get a bit confusing, but should ultimately be really fun because everyone is tied to everyone else on canvas and tons of ripple effects will happen. Not only that, but this is totally AU so no one should expect these characters to follow standard maxis storyline after the initial setups The first three (Goth, Lothario, Caliente) start off following the prompts but it sets in motion everything to come, so it was a bit unavoidable. I'll have cast pics and set pics later on as i'm still trying to set up the CC for that but I don't intend for it to be very picture heavy posts as it's more scripted dialogue style then needing pics. Looking forward to what you guys think and hope you enjoy. So without further ado....
It hadn't gone down the way she planned. Cassandra had thought when she whispered into Don's ear that she would be "better than Bella had ever been" it would ensure that Don submitted to the marriage and her control. instead Don feigned a page from the hospital and took off leaving her at the altar. While ultimately humiliated Cassandra was always one to see opportunity even at the low points. "You know I can have him killed for you" Mortimer had offered. "No daddy you couldn't even kill Bella and that bitch was sleeping with him, I'll handle this myself". "Don't forget you foolish little girl we're in this together you don't act without my saying so". "Of course daddy and when we're caught I'll be sure to throw you under the bus first. Either way you old bat he's onto us which ups the stakes and you know I prefer playing with my food before eating it". Because even unbeknownst to Mortimer, Cassandra had plans to ensure both Don and Bella suffered greatly for their betrayal. While this was a temporary setback after months of planning and seducing it wasn't for naught. The only issue that still remained was Alexander. She knew she had to protect him from any fallout at all costs. So whatever she planned would have to involve his safety. And as she stared across the table at Mortimer the next day over breakfast she inwardly smiled knowing that the old coot would never see her coming. Alas Mortimer was doing the same for while he admired his boneheaded daughters commitment to vengeance he couldn't wait to see the look on her face when it came out that Don had been seeing more than just her two timing mother. Mortimer knew he was old but he was going to show his daughter that when it came to scheming against family, he was always two steps ahead on the chess board.
He knew he was in trouble big time. The Goth's were not a family to be played with yet he had crossed the line anyways with no thought to consequences. Yet Bella, sweet, innocent, Bella had paid the price for his stupidity. Then he committed another stupid act by falling for the daughter. He knew he was a glutton for punishment, but being ambushed at an impromptu wedding had been to much. So he did what he knew best. He called over Nina Caliente for some relaxing to get his mind off his current situation. It wasn't until the post pillow talk and Nina bringing up her recent phone conversation with Mortimer that Don realized just how screwed he was. He quickly kicked Nina out and started packing. Too little to late it seemed as he tried to leave two men blocked his way. They forced him into a van and sped off. Hours later a moving truck appeared out front. The contents of the house were loaded and soon that truck disappeared as well along with any idea of what happened to Don Lothario.

Too little to late it seemed as he tried to leave two men blocked his way. They forced him into a van and sped off. Hours later a moving truck appeared out front. The contents of the house were loaded and soon that truck disappeared as well along with any idea of what happened to Don Lothario. Dina was sick of this neighborhood and sick of being unemployed. Nina wasn't making her life any better by hogging the phone all the time, which was something new and peculiar. She also knew that her on and off again relationship with Mortimer Goth was going absolutely nowhere despite her best efforts. She knew she had to make some drastic changes in her life, just not sure what. So when Mortimer suddenly stopped over to visit and she found him and Nina kissing i nthe kitchen she knew at least one thing that was leaving her life. her relationship with Mortimer. The next morning she could hardly face Nina and Dina knew she had to leave. Nina, for her part was lost and confused as well. She knew things between Mortimer and Dina weren't so great lately but she had no idea that Mortimer had fancied her in that way. Besides that why should Dina be so jealous after all they were sharing Don weren't they? Or maybe that was the issue. Had Dina decided that Mortimer was the only one she wanted and Nina just screwed that up? It wasn't like she was going to get an answer anytime soon, because while she was taking a bath Dina moved out on her. Even with all that she still had a more pressing concern to deal with. Why was she all of a sudden attracted to Mortimer Goth? |
I like the story so far. It was interesting reading.

Love the title, and I love how you have an exciting story going on between the Goth and the Caliente families. Cassandra and Mortimer are something fierce!

OK so had some issues. Mostly that my first trial run didn't give me the events I needed because I used a clean subhood version of Pleasantview. So installed the clean neighborhood version and started again. Had all the events happen like they should but no Bella Goth in town. Then I realized that I didn't refresh the neighborhood so i was playing the shipped version of it. That pissed me off majorly because I had played a 1 day rotation through most of the hood. So now that it's all straightened out. I revamped and retconned some of the stuff I had planned out (Everything in the first post is still canon, just expanded greatly) While getting through all that I realized I wasn't satisfied with the pics I was getting. So threw in the gussy-up mod and a new character who may/may not be pertinent to the storylines. Really all she's there for is to control the lot i use to gussy up people and take some group shots that I need for promos, but her look is exotic enough that I may end up using her, eh we'll see. I'm still trying to decide on major looks for most cast so for right now they all have maxis stuff. Still trying to decide whether CC hair will be teen/adult, YA/adult only, or child/adult but i do know elders will mostly get the maxis stuff because there's enough there for it to be satisfactory to me. Mainly it's just deciding how much children and teens will be playing roles in this or if i'll be overusing the SORAS (aka Soap Opera Rapid Aging Syndrome) method.
Overall I'm really excited for this chapter (I do believe I went overboard writing this, but it just kept coming out) because I don't think I've ever played the Goths (or has anyone else?) as this dark before. Normally they're viewed as a kooky magical goth style but I've gone alot darker with it and I think it will pay off well down the line. Be forewarned alot of text/slight language behind the spoiler and yes there was a glitch in the matrix regarding an extremely fast clothes change but I wanted their everyday look and forgot I hadn't disabled the formal sign from simlogical at that point. Enjoy and let me know what you think.
It was supposed to go off without a hitch. She had planned it so carefully, right down to every minute detail. Figuring that blowing the lid off the torrid affair between her fiancee and her mother in front of a crowd would ensure he said yes. Yet here she sat cursing her own naivete.
~4 hours earlier~
She was surprisingly calm for knowing what lay ahead. The guests had all arrived and were mingling waiting on the ceremony to begin. Cassandra had been deliberate in leaving off Darren and the Caliente twins to ensure that no other drama took precedent over what she had planned. The Pleasant family were getting along in public for once and she was glad to have her friend Mary-Sue here to support her. Unsure as to what Brandi Broke was doing here since the two had never really conversed ,she figured she was keeping an eye on her son while he was around Angela. Though the two didn't even seem to be making eye contact and there was some palpable tension between them. Ah young love.
Motioning to Don that it was time the two made their way to the arch as the guests begin to seat themselves. She saw her father take a seat on her side of the aisle, in the back a perpetual scowl on his face. He had hated the idea since conception, even more so that she had shut him out of the planning process entirely. A big church wedding to show the Goth's were still the ones to top; that's what he had wanted. If only he had known then what she had planned. There was no officiant, another huge fight over that had erupted between father and daughter but she had made sure that herself and Don had written their own vows. For extra shock value she had allowed Don to say his first.
"Cassandra from the moment I found you waiting in the school library to tutor a moron I knew you were special. It was a dream come true for a Goth to be tutoring someone like me, who only wanted an easy A to continue to be on the football team. Not only did you give me that; you gave me so much more. Underneath that shy, nerdy, facade you put up was a girl full of wit, wonder, and knowledge. It is because of that girl I persevered through high school; not becoming a jock dropout. And while I may not have gotten to go to college on a football scholarship you opened me up to a world of other possibilites that made my failing my first dream as a door closing to open another. I may be a lowly medical intern right now, but I vow that as long as we stand by each other I will make it to the top and be able to provide and nurture you for the rest of our lives. You were and continue to be my shining star in a sea of darkness and I will always find your light. I love you".
Cassandra was taken back abit by the vows. She may have underestimated his true feelings for her, but despite that she knew she had to press on. Hopefully after her vows her reputation wouldn't be too tarnished.
"Don I swooned in high school when I saw you at football practice. You were my secret fantasy of a shy girl getting the high school dream. It is only because of you and your eggheadness that I came out of my shell. I used to think fairy tales don't happen, yet here today we stand together embarking on a life of adventure. I only wish my dear mother was here to witness this event, but maybe; just maybe, it's better that she isn't." Cassandra turned and looked at her father then while Don's smile turned to a look of confusion. "I vowed to be the kind of woman who saved herself for the right man, a lesson I know my dear mother never taught me. I had hoped you were of the same mind, but what is a fairy tale without a obstacle to overcome".
"Cassandra what are you getting at here?" Don nervously asked as the guests begin to look concerned.
"I'm talking about the obstacle of you and my mother having an affair behind my family's back" she simply stated.
Gasps erupted from the crowd and Mary-Sue stood up immediately. Mortimer sat calmly with a smile playing on his lips, while Alexander turned around in his seat to ask his father what his sister was talking about.
"Don't worry I don't hold it against you. My mother was a two timing vixen and probably irrestistable to you, in a twisted Mrs. Robinson sort of way. But she's no longer here, and I am and I can promise you I will be better to you than she ever was."
She then offered him the ring as the crowd watched in disbelief. "Cassandra are you out of your mind?" Marty-Sue said. Daniel piped in "Yea your mother wasn't the only one. He's been seeing Kaylynn behind your back as well; not to mention probably both of the Caliente sisters". Mary-Sue smacked him i nthe back of the head.
Don recoiled in guilt ridden horror as the reality of what just went down came crashing down on him. She was intentionally sabotaging her own wedding to spite him for his shadiness. "Cassandra, it wasn't what you think it was. Yes I made out with your mother, but you have to believe me that she came on to me first. I was committed to our relationship."
"And Daniel's claims about Kaylynn, Dina, and Nina? are they truth or do you have some explanation for that too? You claim to see me as a more mature and wiser person than you, so how did you in your so called 'infinite knowledge' think I wouldn't find out? Do you really find me that gullible? Because I have news for you Donald Lothario I've known for months about you and Bella. I could care less about those others but MY OWN MOTHER Donald? I won't forgive you for that even if what you say about her is true."
"This wedding and our relationship is over. Your mother was bad, but YOU Cassandra? you're a piece of work in itself" he glared at her coldly then left.
Cassandra stood there in shock. That wasn't part of the plan at all. Moments ago she had the upper hand and now? suddenly she was not only the instigator, but the final victim of her own scheme. She looked over to Mary-Sue who just stood there with her hand rubbing her temple as Daniel and Mortimer began ushering everyone from the yard. Words escaped her as Mary-Sue approached her.
"You know Daniel and I have our own issues right now regarding infidelity, but damnit Cassandra marriage is a sacred thing, and this little stunt you pulled today was low even for you. I get that you wanted to lash out, but your mother is gone; so really who the hell does this benefit? You? Mortimer? certainly not Alexander who's now going to wonder what kind of person his mother really was. Are you so filled with petty hate that in order to trash your mother's memory you had to trash not only your life and shot at happiness, but your brothers as well?" Mary-Sue stared at her sadly. "Who the hell are you Cassandra?" then walked away.
Later that night over a dinner of chef salad things got awkward when Alexander demanded an explanation of earlier events. Mortimer ate in silence refusing to acknowledge the question. Cassandra was about to tell him when Mortimer motioned for her to join him in the sitting room.
"I know I value your brother alot more than I do with you, as he will be heir to this family name someday; but, I do believe I tend to underestimate you as you have shown today. It is no secret I have abhorred your relationship with that man child for reasons I had not disclosed. Apparently there was no need to hide them as you already known about your mother's sordid affair of shame and disgust. I had been hoping to disrupt the proceedings today and shame you for not obeying my commands to end that pitiful attempt at a relationship and as it turns out I was upstaged by my own daughter. I am truly pleased to see a semblance of a backbone in you woman".
"Let me stop you there before you go too far and heap more praise on me that would give you a heart attack, seeing that it's a rarity for you to be so complimenting of your twit of a daughter, your words of course. Why don't we get down to the real issue daddy and you tell me where she is?" Mortimer feigned ignorance of what she demanded so she continued. "You're a discredited and disgraced scientist who told the world that aliens absconded with mother. I know they claim you're mad, but even that is reaching into a whole different level because you still stick to that story when even actual aliens have refuted every claim you've tried to sell to the media. So no aliens didn't take her; yet she still disappeared. Not dead, because wow no body has ever been discovered and seeing as you still try to gleam 15 minutes of fame every anniversary of her disappearance the media circus of her body discovery would be orgasmic for you wouldn't it? All that unwarranted attention and not a shred of dignity to be found. Either you hid her somewhere, or she fled your unstable ass; which these days doesn't sound like a bad idea considering the trash you're bringing into the home".
"I'd slap you little girl if I even thought you were worth the effort, What goes on between Ms. Caliente and I is none of your concern. You should be more concerned with me cutting you off after that last shopping bill. Who the hell flies to Paris to shoe shop? Just because you're not in the running for Child of the year doesn't mean I don't notice what you do. As for your mother you believe whatever crackpot theory you want it makes no difference to me. She's out of our lives one way or the other and it's gonna stay that way if you know what's good for you. Now that Donald is humiliated I'll take it from here as he still has to pay for sleeping with my dear Dina."
"Wow you're ready to step in and finish the fight and it's not even for your own daughter, classy daddy really. No I have other plans for Don, and you're not going to get in my way to defend your own mistress's barely there honor. She looked at him square in the eyes.
"You think you saw a backbone today, but you've seen nothing yet, get in my way and you'll find out very quickly how willing I am to trash both parents".

Thanks LordTyger! This has been something i've been wanting to do for awhile and it's my first major committed attempt at a story so i'm glad that people are enjoying it.
So once again I wrote a chapter that got away from me length wise. At this point I think i'm just going to stop pretending I can actually keep anything short and simple and just let it go lol. It's conflicting though, because this chapter wasn't suppose to be so long, as it was only an action piece to progress the plot. Though some things did actually change from post 1 for this piece but it's still fairly on target. However, while plotting out connections between current and future sim relationships (enemies/lovers/friends) these two came up further down the road. Now granted it started as a very thin bond that could be passed over with a simple history recap, but the idea of these two sims even having a connection to begin with required a more in depth explanation. I think a good majority of players pass over these two on age difference alone, so for me it became an intriguing question of if I don't set it up now, will people believe it further down the road? In doing so however I actually managed to put a different spin on some stuff that fleshed out a few characters in a different perspective then I had originally wrote and even expanded backstory in the previous chapter! As for this chapter, it was a toughie to write because I wanted to say what I needed the characters to say but i needed to strike a delicate balance of right/wrong that is still grounded in reality and not just my story reality. I'm satisfied with how it came out, however I do know and have made notations that some of the stuff said will need to be addressed really soon and not just be glossed over.
Don cursed himself. He had been so foolish, so immature in his thinking. Cassandra had blindsided him in the worst way possible, and he had been left so ashamed in front of everyone it was a wonder he left with any dignity at all in the end. Yet, didn't he deserve that punishment? Deep down he knew he did because he had willingly been with Dina, Nina, and Kaylynn. But Bella? All he did was show her a star she had been insisting was a planet through the telescope and then she surprised him by kissing him.
Okay, maybe the wine spritzers beforehand had been bad judgement on his part. Hell, letting her in the door was mistake number one, but she was his girlfriends mother and he could tell with just one look that she had been desperate for a distraction that night. Being married to Mortimer and his slow descent into madness had to be hard on her, and outside her family Bella really didn't have any friends of her own. Yet that night, in one moment of sheer frozen panic he had done nothing as she kissed him and it had sealed his future fate. Or had it?
Because, as he thought about it, today's disaster of events had been Cassandra's own machinations in the works for awhile as she revealed. He had never told anyone about that night so how could she have possibly known? Bella had seemed to drunk to probably remember what happened either, so he was reasonably sure she hadn't said anything either. Worse yet, Mortimer had been suspiciously quiet throughout the ordeal, so did that mean he already knew as well? If he did did that mean he told Cassandra to make sure she would humiliate him the way she had for what he did to his daughter and wife?
The hell with it all. That family was more twisted than anyone knew, so maybe it was a blessing in disguise that it ended how it did. He paused on the notion of getting blacked out drunk to ease the pain, then another thought occurred. Two can play at this game and he had been a master of breaking hearts long before a Goth had darkened his doorway. He thought about inviting Dina over, then realized that she'd probably be over at the manor, attending to Mortimer's fake distraught over the failed wedding. Daniel had violated the 'Bro's before Hoes's code by announcing his other infidelities, so maybe he could score a revenge shot by getting in some time with Kaylynn. Then he realized she was out of town currently working another place for some other rich family. Probably why Daniel had even been at the wedding to begin with. Alone time and no Kaylynn to keep him company, may as well catch a wedding and some free food.
Looks like it was down to Nina to nurse his broken heart. Normally that would suit him just fine, as he and Nina were extremely compatible. But he had had these nagging feelings lately that there was more lingering under the surface between the two of them. Something more like love, than just two people in a casual friends with benefits situation. With everything that had gone down today he felt a bit unsure if adding more complications was a good thing or a bad thing just to relieve some stress. Before he could make a decision on whether to call or not, the doorbell rang. Relieved, but unsurprised at who it was he opened the door. "Lilith now is not a good time" but she pushed past him into the place anyways.
"Close the door and it's Angela not Lilith". "I'm sorry is there some freaky friday stuff going around because the black hair and that ensemble is screaming Lilith". "As you may or may not know my family is in therapy and the wackjob of a therapist has suggested Lilith and I do the cliche 'Walk a mile in each other's shoes' hence the new look. And also no that does not mean I'm here to score pills which I know you supply to Lilith. I will look like her, but acting like her is out of the question." "Well I have to say Angela, you pull it off really well, though yes your attitude could use some adjusting, and if you don't mind i'm kind of not in the mood for whatever this is because you know failed wedding, public humiliation, blah blah blah".
"I won't be long I just need to ask a favor of you. My humanities teacher has assigned us a project this semester, a junior internship at our place of choosing. Anyways, I chose the hospital and there's a spot available however I need the recommendation of a senior intern already at the hospital and well, you're the only one I know". "You're choosing to work in a hospital over a mall?" "Why does everyone think the only place for a teen is the mall? I'm perfectly capable of handling myself in those conditions; plus it looks good on my college application and I do want to study medicine. So please can you help me out?" "And if I don't? let me guess you'll blackmail me about being your sister's supplier?" "I was hoping you would just do it out of the kindness of your heart and the satisfaction that you've helped put a future doctor on the path to success. Speaking of which since it's been brought up twice so now i have to ask why do it anyways?" she sat down next to him on the couch.
"The pill supplying? Because being a lowly intern doesn't exactly pay the bills and i'm kind of underwater money wise at the moment." " You know" she began, "working at the hospital and knowing this information it would be unethical of me not to report you to the board, after all I would have a moral duty to do so to protect the image of the hospital". He stared at her wondering where this line of thinking was going. "Maybe it's time for you to stop enabling failure in yourself and others and be the kind of man I know you can be." "Jesus Angela, if this is some kind of pick up line" he trailed off. "Excuse me for being blunt, but not everyone is a fan of Cassandra Goth and i'm actually extremely sorry for the way she treated you today. Whatever lapse of judgement you had then was in the past and not only did she try to ruin your reputation in public she dragged her own mother's name through the mud with no remorse." "So you don't think I should be remorseful about it? Bella was an honest mistake that I didn't initiate but the others I did. I deserve to be left for that, but she was only concerned about her mother; why I don't know."
"Who knows maybe it 's because she's a Goth?" He raised an eyebrow at her. "Oh come on everyone knows there's major loose screws in that family and it's probably hereditary and as a future world renowned doctor I plan to look into it and eradicate whatever mental instability they have and get a Nobel in the process." Don laughed out loud. "So why exactly do you seem to be the only one in town that actually has faith that I could be an upstanding guy?" Angela hesitated for a moment and began. "Because while I don't like the fact that under the circumstances you have you've sunk to supplying my sister with pills; not once have you tried to take advantage of her in any way and trust me I know she's tried several times to seduce you. The girl has serious daddy issues, possible signs of a burgeoning nymphomania and yet you won't lay a hand on her. You're an idiot when it comes to love Don I really think that, but I don't believe for a minute you could truly harm someone in any meaningful way and not feel guilty about the consequences. You went to Bella's funeral while Mortimer staged a press conference. I think it says enough about your character for me personally, and I'm an excellent judge of that."
He looked at her in stunned silence for several seconds truly touched by her words. "You know what kiddo, not only am I going to make sure you get that internship I'm going to do you one better and make sure I'm assigned as the senior intern supervisor that you report to." "You don't have to go that far, but I do appreciate it. Thanks. I gotta go for a therapy session now, but maybe later in the week we can hang out? You have med exams coming up soon and it would give me a head start on the competition for an actual intern spot if I helped you study." "Deal". Angela got up to leave but Don had one more question for her. "So um if you know about Lilith, does that mean your parents do as well?" She nodded but quickly added "Don my mom was chief of police and never went after you and now that she's in local government with even more power and you're still sitting on this tacky couch, my bet is that you'll be safe". she waved goodbye and left.
~Few hours Later~
Don laid there contently in bed feeling Nina snuggle against him. "So tiger what's this I heard through the grapevine that you went and failed at getting married?" she teased. He groaned loudly "Can we not get into that it's kind of a mood killer". "Hey, I'm not complaining, means more of you for me, but I'm curious as to why I wasn't there to witness it firsthand, or to even stop it". "I think that was kind of the point. Cassandra didn't want to share a stage when she publicly massacred our love". "Was it really that bad? I thought the lady at the checkout was exaggerating but hell if you're putting it in those terms." He moaned loudly and got out of bed. "Oh come on i'm teasing you don't be so sour, especially not with those abs." she patted the bed motioning for him to rejoin her.
"Can't, got to get to work early tomorrow to speak to someone about a favor for someone so i'm calling it a night." Nina scoffed in disbelief. He was kicking her out!
"You know Don maybe you should reduce the size of your balls down there and grow some mentally if you're going to get this upset over a little ribbing" she retorted as she walked downstairs. "Come on Nina don't be like that" he called after her but all he got in return was the slamming of the door.
He shook his head and got ready to go to bed. As he drifted off his mind filled with horrors of being alone for the rest of his life because of his actions. Had he even know what lay in wait outside while he slept he may have reconsidered how shitty his day was, because it was about to get much, much worse.
The two goons stood outside the front door in the dead of night. "So do we ring the door bell or smash a window?". The one in the diving helmet tried to reply, but his voice was too muffled for the ninja mask man to hear anything. Taking off the helmet he breathes in deep and glares at his companion. "How the hell should I know it's not like we're burglars, we're getting paid to kidnap this guy". "You don't have to remind me. I wish we were like the cool ones and being burglars; but no you said being a goon would be less hassle. So remind me again, how is kidnapping less of a hassle?" The other one rolled his eyes. "Let's just get this over with the boss wants the target back and secure before sunrise and you arguing with the rent-a-costume place took up alot of valuable time". "So sue me for wanting to get a burglar outfit, is it my fault they didn't carry my size". "Yes it is so lay off the damn burgers, shut the hell up, and help me pick this lock". "what if he makes noise?" "That's what the gag and chloroform are for you imbecile".
One hour later an unconscious Don was dragged from his home, stuffed into the back of a van and disappeared into the night. On the front door was a simple note stating 'Gone fishing'.
I love the dialogs in your posts! Angela's new look is uh... intriguing to say the least, and I wonder how her relationship with Don will play out... Thanks for posting! What Don did to Cassandra was rather heartless, but not all that surprising, unfortunately. Even Mortimer is cold to her. I can't wait to see her plan for redemption!

I am loving the story. As for the length, I think it will depend on how the story is going and the characters at the moment. So just go with what seems right as far as the story goes.
Good pictures again.
I am looking forward to your next installment.

Curiosity killed the cat,
but satisfaction brought it back.

Originally I wasn't going to post this until tomorrow. But it's hot, I can't sleep, and I got to go to work tonight so may as well be productive until then right? So this is Chapter 3. Now as you may have noticed up top in the first post chapter 3 is the setup chapter for the Calientes, but the canon went out the window. Mostly because it was done before I revamped to the darker Goths negating the Nina/Mortimer attraction, and that Nina's consistent move out want; coupled with some plots down the line predicated a switch up of role reversals in regards to certain things. Funnily enough this chapter also ended up being the first ever 3 parter (A 3 parter on chapter 3 irony right?) it's mainly a Caliente chapter however it also encompasses the fallout from Don's chapter (2), as well as the beginning of chapter 4 which is the Pleasants. All 3 parts are already written out but parts 2 & 3 still need screenshots so it'll be a day or 2 before those get posted sadly.
Only a small section of the first part wasn't there in the initial prep notes (I shot this first part before writing it up, because I had three different ways it would play out depending on what happened live, so my bases were covered), but someone just had to stroll onto the lot at the perfect time and present a damn good opportunity for backstory setup and make me love writing for her again. Nina has her hair, but no set outfit yet though what she is wearing is along the style of what I do want for her in the end. (And yes this does mean I made a decision: hair will be teen-adult, no elders except in a few rare cases; but they'll have MM grey(maybe) instead). Dina still in maxis, as her look isn't going to debut until a few more chapters in.
"Morty sweetie are you ok? It's early for you to come knocking, are you still upset about yesterday?" "How can I be ok Dina my poor daughter was left at the altar by a nitwit." "Yes do send my congrats to Cassandra for screwing that up Mortimer, only someone like her could let her ego get the better of her." Nina chimed in tauntingly. Dina folded her arms and scowled. Leave it to Nina to constantly put her opinion in places it didn't belong. "Must you always interrupt MY conversations". Nina looked at Dina silently, thinking that in a minute she was going to do much more than just interrupt her airhead sister. "If it helps you feel better we could continue the conversation from yesterday, you know about the..." Dina trailed off. "Engagement? why yes it would raise my spirits greatly my dear."
At those words Nina flew into a rage internally. Wasn't it bad enough that they had ruined Don now they were about to try the same game on Dina. To hell with this she thought. While Dina checked the mail Nina sidled closer to Mortimer.
"You know Mortimer I think you may be right about Don being a nitwit, I mean when compared to you and that big sexy brain of yours Don looks like a caveman in comparision." she flirted. "Why Nina you devilish tramp, that was the nicest compliment I've think you've ever given me". Dina dropped the mail and looked on in confusion.
"It's like that is it? Anything with breasts and it's got your attention huh Morty? You want to get married, yet you're flirting with another woman, Nina no less. You've even said she's about attractive as a brush fire with PMS". "In his defense though Dina, he does have an accurate description of me and it IS my time of the month right now" She grinned. "I can't; no, I mean I won't marry someone who will not be committed to me 100 percent. If you can't look me in the eyes now and pledge that, well, then it's over Mortimer Goth." Dina declared.
Nina knew the answer already. Dina stood there looking crushed as Mortimer didn't say a word. He took one long reproachful look at Nina and stalked off. Feeling triumphant Nina made her way inside the house humming to herself. She had scored for Don and managed to save Dina all in one day. Life was good.
Angela hurried up as Mortimer departed and Dina began crying. "Dina are you ok? what the hell was that about?" "Oh my god Angela it's happening again, this is like losing Michael all over again but worse". Angela looked at her best friend a bit confused. "I'm pretty sure I saw Mortimer, so unless the dead can take on forms now I'm a little lost". "No I mean I put my heart and my trust in another guy only to have it broken again and the worst part is that he would've cheated on me with Nina, and she's not half as gorgeous as I am". Angela smirked at that comment. "You'll be fine", she assured her. "I know you're trying to be supportive, but there's no way you can know that." "Well that big heaping help of vanity and ego that just came out tells me otherwise, and besides I know you, this isn't actually about Mortimer hitting on Nina at all so why don't you tell me what we both know this is actually about."
Dina wiped off some running mascara and looked sheepishly at Angela. "He wanted to get engaged last night. I didn't want to at first, but the more he made the case for it I began to see how it could be good for both of us." "Because of Don" Angela stated. "Don and I can't work, we've tried so many times but he just can't settle to one woman. The last time we tried he left me standing in the rain after I discovered he was with Nina at the park. Mortimer could've been different or so I thought." "Marrying Mortimer because you're scared you're never going to get past loving Don isn't an answer to any problem, it may just make things worse". Dina looked at her quizzically at the last statement.
"You do know Don and Cassandra almost got married yesterday right?" "No? what the hell, why wasn't I invited?" "I went to that sham of a so called wedding yesterday and trust me after Cassandra was done ripping out his heart in front of everyone, she was looking to Mortimer for his approval, it's as if they were in on it together or something. It was extremely bizzare and embarrassing. If he did know about Don seeing other women what makes you think that this so called wedding for you wouldn't have been a second attempt to make sure everyone who betrayed them was punished?". Dina shook her head in confusion. "There has to be some other explanation; I mean Morty couldn't be that cruel, even if so he wouldn't do that to me. I've been by his side ever since Bella disappeared I know he loves me." "Or, maybe you just hope what you think is right". The two parted ways as it began to rain and Dina felt the sudden change in weather was fitting for her new mood and outlook on life.
Around dinnertime Nina found Dina cooking in the kitchen so while waiting for the food to be done she took a seat on a stool. "Dina I feel I owe you an apology and an explanation for my behaviour earlier today." "Does it really matter? We both know that when it comes to men you always go after what I have." "That is so not true, I was only trying to protect you from making a big mistake. Marrying Mortimer would have been a huge disaster and i just wanted to spare you that pain". "And as teens were you trying to spare me from pain when I found you with your legs wrapped around Don in the bushes at the park" "Dina oh my god we've been over this; you know we were rehearsing for the school play". "Funny because I don't recall Romeo and Juliette ever having a rainy makeout session in the bushes so I don't know what version of the play you had". "I slipped in the mud and fell, Don caught me on the way down and we landed in the bushes, why is that so hard to understand?". Dina whirled around to face her "Because had it been true, it would have been your legs on his lips and not your own!" she shouted back. "You're burning the mac and cheese" Nina replied calmly. "Damnit". Seeing that there was no point in continuing this discussion, Nina got up and left.
~Later That Night~
Gordon King pulled up a block away from the target, quickly smoked a cigarette, and then made his way towards the house. Hearing commotion next door he paused briefly before seeing two goons from the same organization as himself cartoonishly lug a man's body into their van. "Bloody amateurs, no wonder they're known as Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum" he whispered to himself and set upon picking the lock. He would soon realize the irony of that statement for as he made his way into the house an alarm went off. In his distracted state he had made his own amateurish move and forgot to case out the place beforehand for an alarm system. He scanned the room quickly for the object he was suppose to get, but couldn't see an urn anywhere in the room and was about to flee the scene when officer Demi Love ran into the room.
"I'm not going to jail over a damn urn" he declared as Dina came down the stairs and Demi approached him cautiously. He lunged at Demi and Dina shrieked. The battle was short, but fierce and Gordon ended up with the upper hand and quickly made his escape. After ensuring that officer Love was alright and giving their statements Dina went back to bed, while Nina said she would clean up the kitchen. The truth however was that the events of the last hour had shaken her and she now worried that the neighborhood wasn't safe anymore. Not just from burglars, but from her own neighbors and even those in her own home with agendas of their own.
So she decided the only logical step would be to move out to an area that she felt was safer. She felt bad about moving out in the middle of the night without telling Dina, or even discussing it but the way she figured it Dina had made her own bed and now she'd face the consequences on her own for once in her life without Nina there to help her.
We both know that when it comes to men you always go after what I have." I enjoyed Chapter 3 quite a lot. The plot thinkens so to speak.
Oh and I like a lot of the Maxis hair, I just have a problem with most of the Maxis clothes. I do have a lot of custom hair too though. heh.

This story is really getting interesting! Your portrayals of Nina and Dina are quite accurate, I must say... I love the criminal undertones.! Perhaps a mafia is in order? This has become one of my favorite hoods to read about, so keep up the good work!

Aww thanks guys!! Wicked is probably at this point in time one of the nicer compliments I feel the Goths are going to get because it only get worse from here on out for them. Nina/Dina portrayals currently do mirror the Eaxis versions as their day one play-thorugh makes it pretty much unavoidable to follow without major history rewrite though that should change pretty fast now that they're separated. I think people will be surprised at how those two come into their own later down the line.
Part 2 of chapter 3 is a quickie. No pics, because it's such a one off scene meant to get to part 3 of this chapter I felt that the 2 possible shots that may have been necessary were a waste of time. Granted this scene though is probably a look into one of the more happier times, strangely enough; that the Pleasants will ever get from me. It came out better than I thought because with the twins having their therapist advise them to reverse roles I was able to play alot more with personalities and it ended up being more true to what I've always felt they were really like in my head.
I should've been writing up chapter 4, but I skipped ahead to sketch out the minor parts that the Dreamer and Brokes play to the current main story arc instead because I have the feeling that chapter 4 is going to be one of the harder chapters for me to write. Brokes have a whole new none EA canon backstory to explain why instead of Beau as a toddler at the start, he's suddenly a teen. Tomorrow I plan on getting the shots I need for part 3 of ch. 3, so that release is looking like a Thurs/Fri event.
Mornings in the Pleasant household were typically structured, but today seemed to not be one of those days. Daniel had overslept, and woke up tired and disoriented. The twins were bickering far more than usual and he tried to intervene but was told by Mary-Sue to let them have it out as it was part of the therapy process. "Then the therapist pays for the funeral", he quipped back at her, kissing her on the cheek. While he got breakfast ready Mary-Sue took a phone call.
"So both officer Love and Dina Caliente corroborate that King mentioned the urn was the object he was after?. Where are we in apphrehending King currently? I'll be on my way to the office momentarily, but if anything else develops text me", she hung up. "Mom, what was that about Dina?" Angela said between mouthfuls of cereal. "Apparently they were robbed last night and Michael Bachelor's urn was the object of interest, though Dina had taken it to be cleaned so it wasn't in the house. They're both fine and Officer Love was only slightly injured in the pursuit."
"These are the days I'm really glad you're no longer an officer sweetie", Daniel said patting her hand. "Don't be that grateful, they're putting me as lead point on the investigation". "That makes no sense you're not even with the department anymore". "Yes, but Michael Bachelor is still an open case, and since I was lead officer on both his murder and his sisters later disappearance they want me to consult. I should probably let Cassandra know, though I doubt she'll be pleased about reopening this old wound; as if the poor girl hasn't been through enough".
Daniel poured himself some coffee. "it's amazing what friendships can come out of such horror, and I'm sure she'll appreciate you being there to support her once again. You got her through her mother's disappearance so this should be a piece of cake". Angela said nothing slowly eating her cereal and letting all this info digest.
"Like eww who wants some dead guy's ashes that's like super icky" Lilith said in her best Angela impression, or what she thought it was. The school bus arrived and Lilith grumbled. "O joy it's time to trade one prison for another". Mary Sue raised an eyebrow at her. "Oh, I mean O.M.G. I can't wait to hang with all my girls and gossip about boys comparing penis sizes in the locker room. I heard Dustin is really big in that department". Lilith grinned wickedly, as Daniel spewed his coffee and Angela gave Lilith her best 'you're so dead' stare. Mary-Sue sighed and grabbed her purse. "On second thought Daniel, you're right the therapist is going to pay for the funeral".

The finishing touch is here! Part 3 of chapter three for your viewing pleasure. Blocking this was a PITA, halfway though I ended up having to reload the lot (Quit without saving) so Don's stuff is 'magically' still in the place; so please ignore that little issue. Thought it would be posted tomorrow but I have a bit of energy left, so I wanted this out of the way; so Friday I could focus on chapter 4 which is kicking my ass. Cassandra & Mary-Sue debut their finished looks. Mortimer happened to stroll onto the lot while shooting which helped alot since Dina's furious with him, Cassandra is furious with Don so I didn't have to cleverly pose them alot just waited till they had some angry thoughts about their exes. (He's still on the lot, haven't taken him out yet just locked him in the bathroom so he couldn't get into shots). Overall I'm pleased with it but am really looking forward to Dina and Cassandra interacting less, as they're not that great of enemies I'm finding out. Great personalities to write, however; I think I can find them better enemies worthy of their talents as these two just didn't click right for me.
She knew she should be in school and she really hoped that her excuse of 'playing Lilith' after this morning would be enough to keep her from getting grounded, but she had to check on Dina! Except she never made it to Dina's because Dina herself was standing on Don's front lawn looking really confused. "Hey I heard about what happened are you okay?" "Yea, no I'm fine but I'm extremely worried". "Well I think anyone would be after what happened, mom says this is a safe neighborhood but it seems facts like to contradict her". "Huh? no, wait shouldn't you be at school? never mind, have you seen Nina or Don at all this morning?" "No I haven't, is that why you're on his lawn? Please tell me you didn't spend the rest of the night out here". Dina pointed at Don's front door. That sign on his door says 'Gone fishing'".
"After everything I think it's great that he's taking a few days away to collect himself; so I really don't see the issue?". "For once Angela your logic isn't going to win this one because A. Don doesn't fish, and B. everything in his house is gone." Angela looked at the house in concern. "That can't be right why would he leave in the middle of the night?" "I don't know let's go ask Nina, no wait we can't because she fled in the middle of the night too". "So you think.." "That my bitch of a sister took off with Don for greener pastures? yes I do". "Okay now you're just stretching, maybe Don is getting it fumigated and that's why everything is gone". Angela went up to the door and peered in through the glass. Dina was right the place was completely empty. While trying to push open the door a voice behind her called out. "What the hell do you think you're doing". In her panic Angela pushed too hard and the door flew open landing her face first on the floor. Dina looked behind her to see Cassandra Goth and Mary-Sue approaching. "I'm innocent and have a 4.0 GPA" Angela screamed out thinking it was the police. Dina tensed up at the sight of Cassandra.
"Angela" Mary sue began, "I don't know what it is you think you're doing but I'll deal with you later. I'm sorry for showing up Dina, I tried calling, but no one was answering now for obvious reasons, but I had to inform Cass about the attempted robbery of her uncle's ashes and she insisted on coming over to get them." "If you think i'm letting that 'thing' walk off with my exe's ashes you've got another thought coming. "He's more my family than yours and he'd be safer at the manor than he would in that shack you call a house". Dina started at Cassandra, than thought better of it. Cassandra smirked. "So it wasn't enough you were robbed, but now you're breaking into Don's house and corrupting minors Dina? Any other talents we don't know about besides maybe private ones involving poles".
Angela approached from the house ready to do battle. "Both Nina and Don are missing, Don's house is completely empty and if we're throwing out accusations Cassandra, why do you always seem to think my mother is your personal police force?" Mary-Sue piped in "Wait, they're missing; when did they disappear?" Dina threw her arms up in the air. "I don't know, sometime in the middle of the night. After Officer Love left Nina said she was going to clean the kitchen and I went back to bed, I woke up this morning and she was gone along with her stuff. I went over to Dons to see if he knew anything and I found his house empty and that sign on the door that says gone fishing." Cassandra snorted. "Don fishing, that would be something to watch". Dina glared at her. "Yea, and you made some pretty big threats the other day and everyone here witnessed it; so tell me Cassandra what role did you play in this?" "You honestly think I had anything to do with this?" "You wanted him gone, maybe you took him to go fishing but decided he'd be better off sleeping with them since you're of the mind he sleeps with everyone around but you."
"Of all the convoluted, ridiculous crap that's ever come out of that hole of yours" Cassandra began. "Ladies I may not be an officer anymore but I will make a citizens arrest on both your asses if you don't go to respective corners now. I need to focus here and your fighting isn't helping me think". Angela looked at her mom. "You think it's connected don't you". "The robbery and Don's disappearance yes, the timeline's too small to be a coincidence. but I'm not quite sure where Nina is fitting into it yet." "The only connection my uncle had with Don is through that slut, yet somehow she's still here". "I'm not going to stand here and listen to whatever kind of crap you're throwing out today. If you want to feel better about yourself go kill a puppy, or whatever it is you do for fun, you freak. Mary-Sue, if you find out anything let me know. Come on Angela I'll drive you back to school".
As Dina and Angela walked away Cassandra couldn't help but yell out one last parting shot. "In all likelihood Nina and Don ran off to be together, so really I guess your score for losing men is two in a week huh? My father and Don. Both choose your sister over you, so what does that say about you Dina Caliente?".
She knew she should be in school and she really hoped that her excuse of 'playing Lilith' after this morning would be enough to keep her from getting grounded, but she had to check on Dina! Except she never made it to Dina's because Dina herself was standing on Don's front lawn looking really confused. "Hey I heard about what happened are you okay?" "Ladies I may not be an officer anymore but I will make a citizens arrest on both your asses if you don't go to respective corners now.

"Any talents we don't know about besides maybe private ones involving poles". The tension between Cassandra and Dina was rather well portrayed. Cassandra's final comment was appropriately harsh, albeit somewhat surprising. More updates please!!

"Any talents we don't know about besides maybe private ones involving poles". I love your turn of phrase. I can think of two possible meanings for that line and I am not sure which one was meant. Maybe both!
Great pictures.
I am anticipating your next installment of your story.

Hey guys quick update. Hadn't the energy to do too much the last few days (been going through showers and ice water like they're limited editions of something) Ch 4 is halfway there. I wrote myself into a cliffhanger that demanded 4 be split into 2 parts. First part being central to overall storyline and 2nd part more fleshing out and touching on the issues that chapter 2 brought up. So 1st half is written, but needs the essential shots. 2nd half is a bit trickier to write so still trying to piece it out to make sure it's up to my standards and at 2 rewrites already we'll see how it goes. I have a bullet list of topics that are needed to be addressed in this part, the issue being that writing the characters to address these and not have them revert to maxis personalities is a bit challenging on certain aspects of it.
Not being able to move around much without getting heatstroke wasn't all that bad. Did alot of plotting out in my head and have tons of notes for the next few chapters. Decided that ch 5 will be a 3-4 parter so I can squeeze in the necessary stuff for Brokes, Dreamers, and Oldies (possibly Langerak too if I really feel that's she's relevant to it at the moment, she does have a setup role in ch 4 that puts her in main cast; its just a matter of if her stuff is needed now or down the road). Oddly enough Burbs don't even figure into the story at all so far. Not an accidental oversight, I just have no use of them to the story so far so it'll be a toss up to see if they indeed ever do make it in. Alot of 5 is sketched out enough already that it shouldn't take too long (because that's how much i've hated writing ch 4). Then....
SUMMER SWEEPS
Then in July through August chapters 6-10 will be part of the first Summer sweeps storyline and man it's a biggie. Tons of action and a few huge twists. Promo for it should be out between Ch's 4 and 5. These sweep chapters honestly are where the story really begins. Which doesn't seem quite right you might say considering they happen 5 chapters in already. So why didn't I just start with these instead? trust me by the end of chapter 10 you'll see how my mind works. Everything has a reason.
All in all that's pretty much it. Tentatively 4 and 5 should be out between the 22-25 as I scored a 4 day weekend so ample time to push through.

Yea it's late but I had some weather issues, unexpected house guest, and to top it all off I threw out the pics for this chapter by accidentally placing them in the wrong folder to be deleted. Life's a bitch sometimes.
So here's both parts of chapter 4. Basically it picks up where it left off in chapter 2 part 3.
Part 1
The house was quiet now and Daniel breathed in deeply. It had been exhausting to keep up appearances this morning and he wasn't quite so sure he had it in himself to do too many more, before it became apparent. He looked off into the living room wondering if he'd make it to the chair by the bookcase. Angela had some kind of project that had required use of the various books on it and he hoped she hadn't stumbled onto his secret one in the process.
Making his way over was excruciating and by the time he finally sat down his breath was coming out in small wheezing bursts. Leaning over he grimaced in pain as he began rifling through the books and it was at that moment Kaylynn walked in. "No no mon cherie, let me help you". He looked at her with tears glistening in his eyes and she spoke quietly as she retrieved the book from behind the bookcase where she had stashed it the day before. "Remember we keep it behind so no one finds it. Is the pain bad today?". Stupid question to ask, she knew, but she was in the hospitality industry and as she had learned there were no stupid questions, only stupid people. She only had to take one look at him to know the answer. "Let's get you to the bed and then you can take your meds".
Once comfortable Daniel finally let it all out. The tears stung, but felt good and Kaylynn held him close. Trying to alleviate some of the embarrassment he felt he jokingly asked if the cuddling cost extra, to which he received a slight swat on his arm. It had become a routine for them. Ever since Kaylynn had stumbled into the bathroom that fateful morning to clean it and had discovered him bawling his eyes out, the test results in his hands. He knew it was wrong irregardless that there had been no physical cheating this was still of the emotional variety, yet he didn't care.
Mary-Sue, the woman he loved with all his heart was the world to him. He had been so proud when she finally managed to get into a higher position of power outside of the dangers of the every day risk of police work. While he knew she still dealt with alot of the mundane legal stuff that excited her the risks of guns was alot lower. Now it was just avoiding lawsuits. Yet she was always so busy, never home. Even when she was she really wasn't. Constant distractions as the D.A. made quality alone time for the two near non existent. The twins too had noticed and it had just made things worse as he knew they silently feared a divorce was moments away and that's when the fighting had begun. Thick as thieves as kids now the girls fought daily with each other, each hoping that in outdoing the other it would keep their parents from focusing on the other.
He didn't blame them for that. But he had never noticed that things between Mary-Sue and him had seemed so outwardly strained that others had noticed. The two never fought and he was quite certain that she had at least been around a few times to see the shared whispers between him and Kaylynn, though she never brought it up. Maybe she felt guilty that she spent so much time away that him seeking affection elsewhere was the least she could afford if it kept him happy. But there was truly nothing there. Kaylynn only sought to ease his pain and share the secret burden he carried. Yes she was an attractive woman but she held high moral standards of herself and had told him numerous times she never got physical with her employers.
"I have something for you" he announced. The timing was right he thought, and he knew if he didn't now he may not get the chance to do it at all and it was something he needed to ensure was done for the future. "Daniel, really I couldn't take anything from you". Pressing a piece of paper into her hand he grimaced in pain and shifted around on the bed. She looked at it in confusion and then at him. It contained nothing but a 4 digit number. "As far as gifts go I've never gotten anything like this" she said slowly, unsire of what to make of it. Looking at her with a loopy smile he struggled to find the words to explain. The meds were kicking in. "That there is the pin to a bank safe deposit box with $20,000, in it and a deed to a condo. You're finally free Kaylynn, that's my dying wish for you. She stared at the paper in dumbfounded silence. "Mon cherie are you sure you're not mixing up Aladdin and Cinderella with this?" was all she could get out.
"Mary-Sue", he began than coughed but continued. "Mary-Sue won't handle this well. She'll put on a brave front and bury herself in work but this'll kill her inside. I'm afriad that she won't be able to cope mentally and still be there for the girls. I need you to do that for me, be there for them in the ways that Mary-Sue won't be able to. Those girls are my everything, and you're the only one I trust to do this for me." Damnit Daniel, she thought as she looked away tears forming in her eyes, but she simply nodded in understanding.
He must have drifted off to sleep in her arms, and she herself; because the next thing he knew was cold water hitting his face and an irritated Mary-Sue standing by the bed. "Get up now Daniel before the children get home" she hissed at him while staring daggers at Kaylynn. "Why are you home, is something wrong, what time is it?". "The only thing wrong is this scene I walked in on, though I've had my suspicions for awhile, but really Daniel the cliche maid affair?". "It is really not what you think Ma'am" Kaylynn said removing herself from the bed and straightening her skirt. "Do not presume to tell me what the hell I think this is you home wrecking tramp".
"ENOUGH". Daniel yelled then began coughing. A small smattering of blood came out with spittle and he cursed silently under his breath. Why did this have to happen now in front of Mary-Sue. "Daniel..." Mary-Sue trailed off with a look of horror beginning to form on her face.
"Kaylynn looked at Mary-Sue defiantly. "It's is not an affair you think we are having, Your husband has too much pride to tell you the truth and I've been helping him keep this dreadful secret." "And what secret is that?" Mary-Sue responded, unsure if she really wanted the answer.
Daniel looked at Mary-Sue sadly. It was too late to try to hide it now. "I'm dying" was all he could bring himself to say.
Part 2
Mary-Sue looked at Daniel and Kaylynn unsure of what to do or say next. On one level this felt like a cheap ploy to get her to not focus on the decpetive nature of their relationship. Daniel however, was not a man who was known for lying; especially about something as drastic as health problems. So several moments of awkward silence past between them. Daniel finally excused himself to the bathroom and Kaylynn decided she would make the first move. "So I guess you'll be wanting my resignation". "Yes" Mary-Sue replied curtly. "I know this must be confusing for you, given that Daniel is a pro athlete and these things happen all too often, but I must assure you there is nothing between us".
"A sexual affair at this moment would be ever so more refreshing". The toilet flushed and the two women glanced towards the door both knowing there was so much more to say and no time to do it in. Kaylynn stood up as Daniel came back in. "Daniel I think my work here today is done, so I will see you tomorrow ok". Once again the two women gave each other lingering stares before Kaylynn left. It was apparent that Kaylynn had no intentions on forfeiting her job and whatever relationship she had with her husband.
"I know we should talk, but sweetie I do not have it in me at the moment. Today was already draining enough for me." "That's fine we have a more pressing concern to deal with anyways. That little plan we hatched awhile back; to nab Donatello Lothario for drug dealing hit a snag". "How so?" "Apparently he's been kidnapped so we can't apprehend him and I don't know how to move ahead with it when all we have is our daughter as proof". "You're honestly thinking about pulling in Lilith on charges i nthe hopes that it pushes that guy back into the public". It was a statement, not a question and Daniel looked at Mary-Sue coldly.
"We don't have a whole lot of other options and the mayor is looking for a big open close case to help with re-election". "Throwing our daughter to the wolves will not help your identity crisis at city hall". No, but Mayor Kat is having a hard time right now and is making my life as DA a living hell so this kind of thing is what we need to build public support". He stared at her in disbelief. "I can't wait to hear how public support goes when during trial it comes out that you used our daughter's problem to advance your political career". "Lilith's name is never going to be used, the jury can safely assume that logically it could've been any customers of his we're talking about". "But Lilith and Don will know, that's the issue. You don't think that one or both of them will use that to try to sink the case against you, because you're lying in court". "I won't be the one under oath on the stand so it'll hardly matter, and let's not even get into taking oaths right now".
Daniel snorted derisively. For a smart woman his wife certainly could be stupid under the right circumstances. Her constant control issues were also an issue they had touched on in therapy but she had been tone deaf to that as well. "I'm going to make a call to the cleaning service, request a new one be sent in the morning. I don't want Kaylynn around anymore". She was trying to push his buttons he knew, get him to confess to something; anything to make her case. With his mood though, he wasn't going to try to be defensive. "I just hope that I live long enough to see this whole charade blow up spectacularly in your face". Mary-Sue stared and looked at him her face going pure white. After a moment of silence she declared she was going to go start dinner before the girls got home. "So we're not even going to address the issue that was brought up earlier then?" he called out after her. She clutched her wedding ring as she walked to the kitchen. "Not now, or ever will I discuss losing you Daniel" she said softly.
Also I'm toying with the idea of moving this over to an LJ. It's at the point where i'm not actually playing the hood at all, but it's still being written out, so this may not be the best place for it. I'm just having more fun writing this than actually playing the hood to match up to it.
So here's both parts of chapter 4. Basically it picks up where it left off in chapter 2 part 3.

Woah... Daniel is dying! This is better than the soap operas on TV. Perhaps you ought to become a writer for one of them, perhaps then, they'll become much more tolerable.
