This user has the following games installed:

Sims 3, Ambitions, Showtime
Default Sims keeps sticking to one sim
when i play the sims3 it goes fine for like half an hour then it sticks to a certain sim and wont let me play the other sims, well it does but it doesnt come up as that sim it just comes up as that one sim, like for instance I have a marilyn monroe sim but i have a male sim and it keeps showing the male sims panel and info and when i switch to marilyn it doesnt visibly appear as her panel it's still stuck on his and also one of my sims when loading is showing up all weird and head is spread all over the place, what is going on?

1) post your device config for us here. It is a log file in your user directory (documents\electronic arts\the sims 3). Just copy and paste the content here. preferrably in spoilers tag if you know how to use it.

2) Move the whole Sims 3 user folder to your desktop. Run the game, TS3 will create a brand new user folder. Do not put anything from the original to the new one. Play around and try to duplicate the problem. If you can't it means you have something bad in your user folder, most likely a mod or cc.

Were you able to run a clean game without any problems?

Looking at your deviceconfig, it looks like you are running a pretty low-end system.

I have the "stuck on 1 sim" issue rarely, and it happens after I switch household many many times. It is related to resources and RAM.

1) Your RAM is too low, at only 4GB and sharing it with your OS and other processes it what perhaps increased the chances of stuck sim. Btw, I noticed you are running Win 8. Your system shouldn't be running Win 8 with so limited RAM and such a poor CPU. Anyhow, you should try closing programs and processes before you run TS3 in order to free up RAM. I would also recommend playing in window mode instead of fullscreen.

2) TS3 doesn't recognize your Intel HD. This may be responsible for your graphical glitches. We can modify it so TS3 will use the Intel settings, but that may or may not help. TS3 may simply not be compatible with your GPU.

a) Go to your TS3 game folder (program files\electronic arts\the sims 3\game\bin\) open the file graphicscards.sgr with notepad.

b) Find: card 0x0166 "Mobile IvyBridge GT2"

c) Replace with: card 0x0f31 "Mobile IvyBridge GT2"

d) save.

3) In the future, never ever ever ever buy celerons. Celeron is the lowest pentium grade, it throttles heavily under temp/voltage, so you are not getting the max frequency it claims. It is a poor poor chip.

i have no graphics card in the file also i tried the desktop thing yes it ran normal but obviously i didnt have my mods or cc so i didnt enjoy and just put the old folder back in

? Running a clean game is not for enjoyment, it is to test where the problem is. If you could run it in a clean run without error, it means you might have a mod or CC that is glitchy.

The next step would be to move your original folder back in (which you have done), then move only the mod folder out and play the game again, see if you have the error.

If the error did not occur, it means you have a mod conflict. The next step from here is to put your mod folder back in, divide your mods into 50/50% and test 1/2 of it, using process of elimination to find the problem mod.

could you please tell me where my gamecard folder is or is it called Graphicrules? could it be called that cause there is no file that says gamecard also my graphics are up the left

Perhaps another person know how to get around this?

You mean you want a sim to live by themselves without an adult? Sorry, that's not a glitch, that's how the game is programmed. There are mods to get around this, however I don't use them so I don't know which one. You can ask in the WCIF area.

no i mean when they grow up to be adults they cant move, no sim can move or split up

Those kind of things are almost always related to mods.

Unless you've traveled to the future world Oasis Landing? I know in the future world you are not allowed to split your household.

no haven't got those

but i am really worried about this graphics cards situation

Copy the GraphicsRules.sgr from your Program Files (or (x86))\Electronics Arts\The Sims 3\Game\Bin -installation folder and paste it on your Desktop. Make another copy of this file and place it somewhere else if something goes wrong, put this one back in your installation directory of the game. Failing to do so and it does go wrong is the users own responsiblitly who messes around with their installation directory.

Edit the file as instructed on your desktop and save (the file needs to retain its exact name), then drag and drop it back to the same directory, when ask to overwrite, do so. Start your game till you are at the mainmenu and then check if your DeviceConfig.log recognizes your card (located in your Documents\EA\Sims 3 folder).
