Default Samples of My Poetry
If you want to read all my poems, you can go to my website at http://www.oddworldz.com/annachibi/
I also have some artwork there. But some people may not be able to look at it. (Indeed, sometimes I myself can't even access it.) There is another small sampling here: http://www.myyearbook.com/zenhex/poets.php?poet=5852

This is my absolute favorite poem of all. ^_^

"Lullaby for Sunset"
September 12th, 2005

You thought you wouldn’t fall asleep,
As I lay my head upon your chest,
And sunset ‘cross the clouds does creep.
All you could do was try your best.

As I lay my head upon your chest,
The lure of dreams takes you away.
All you could do was try your best
To keep sweet images at bay.

The lure of dreams takes you away,
Despite the defense you have made
To keep sweet images at bay.
Into a lulling dream you fade.

Despite the defense you have made,
You cannot help but feel at peace.
Into a lulling dream you fade
Where worries of the world all cease.

You cannot help but feel at peace
When I’m so very close to you,
Where worries of the world all cease
And only this moment is true.

When I’m so very close to you,
And sunset ‘cross the clouds does creep,
And only this moment is true,
You thought you wouldn’t fall asleep.

Aw, I love that poem annachibi!
It's so deep, and very touching. I can't write poems to save my life so kudos to you

((I've only just seen this thread btw, so maybe people just skimed over it rather than not enjoying your poetry ))

That's an interesting structure you have in your verses, gives it a mellow rythm, very fitting for a lullaby.

I love the way the lines repeat - it has a very soothing, lulling effect. Very rhythmic and almost hypnotic - awesome stuff!

I forget what type of poem it is exactly, but there's a formula to it, so the repetition is not actually my invention. But I did love the way it turned out. ^_^ I'll be posting another poem as soon as I can get my site to load, since I have to copy and paste it from there.

"Her Facade"
This is another of my favorites. I tried to write it in iambic pentameter, but it didn't quite work out that way. It's some kind of meter, I just don't know what exactly. Please comment and tell me what you think it's about! I love hearing the different interpretations. I myself have given it several different meanings, and no particular one is "correct." ^_^

"Her Facade"
6/13/2004

I walk in silent shadows.
I creep, and pounce, and fly.
I howl unto the willows,
until I make them cry.
The hunters fling their arrows,
but I will never die.
Of who I am, no one knows.
No, not a soul, but I.

If you should find me waiting,
between the Dawn and Eve,
touch not your bow, I tell thee,
if you would rather live.
I have the gift to read you;
your mind is like a sieve.
You have nothing to offer,
and I have naught to give.

You cannot bind the Blackness,
nor can you bind the Light.
Morning will bring the Gladness,
and I must take to flight.
But She can't kill Her Darkness,
though She will always fight.
Her first tear falls for Sadness,
and signals time for Night.

If you should see Her crying,
deny is what She'll do,
for Joy does not like fighting,
so sometimes She will lose.
Ashamed to admit hurting,
She'd rather no one knew,
that I am always calling,
and I am coming soon.

Oh look, my site is up again! Time to grab a poem and post it. My mom LOVES this one. She thinks it's amazing.

"Genesis of Sunlight & Moonlight"
July 2nd, 2005

Once, the Sun refused to shine and caused the clouds to rain,
And when the Moon came out to dance, she saw her friend Sun's pain.
She questioned him, argued, and pleaded, but to no avail.
In sadness for the distraught Sun, Moon cried and became pale.
"You have no need to sulk like that," the Sun told her, surprised.
"You've many delightful qualities which are rare to find."
Moon shook her head and took his hand and told him, "This is true,
"Not only for myself, you see, but also true for you!"
The Sun then smiled with radiance as light poured forth from him.
He kissed the Moon so tenderly she began to glow within;
And to this day, one cannot shine without the other near.
The Sun and Moon are different, yes, but hold each other dear.

Thank you very much for that. I'm not very confident in my abilities, though everyone tells me otherwise. Anybody know where I might get a book of poems published?
