Default unusual slot problem
Hello all.

I have been making a dining table that uses benches rather than seats, this is based on the outdoor picnic bench. i have already had help so far but for a separate issue, so i felt that a new thread was appropriate.

this picture will explain the problem

i need to remove the slots for seating on the side with no seats, the delete function circled in tsrw is not working, i cant click it and i don't know why.

i am amusing the red boxes are the slots where the perform the animation of sitting down.

thank you so much for all your help

Those might be in the container entries tab, turn off the slot viewer so you can see which slot it is you are selecting.

do you meen the slots inside the redboxes as shown by there axis (they are routing enteries and all the tick boxes are unchecked including sim)

i already know to turn off the slot viewer i just wanted to show everyone what's what. though i appreciated the help im convinced the redboxes still not sure what they are have to be removed. they look like foot prints don't they

They are footprints(slot type), but I can't tell you how to delete them in tsrw. If you have S3PE and the tsrw plugin for it I could advise you there.

yes, they are footprints were the chair snaps to.
Install S3PE so you be able to edit them through the project contents(Menu)
Right click the FTP file and choose open as package in s3PE.
Through the GRID you can update the FTP file.

The same way you can edit/update the RLST file for the slots.
You also might want to delete those in the RIG file.

Thank you so much this is great information! i will be able to finnish my first object now. did i not mention i was using S3PE to take a look at the rstl and the ftpt, its a bit of a nightmare finding the instance name of the slot im looking for as its a footprint slot i cant tell what its name is?

just to mention that i did make a farmhouse version of the picnic beanch with looks great in my kitchen, i will convert it to package and upload it

whats the Grid? lol

Edit: i know what the grid view is now, still having trouble finding out what should be edited and how. i have extracted it to package but S3PE cant open it for some strange reason

im not sure how usefull this is but here is the ftpt file in text

though i cant get it into notepad.

right forget all that, im a fast learner, i have deleted slot 3 and 2 (should be listed as slot 4 and 3 in tsrw, must be some translation thing with s3pe) anyway now i just need to save back as package and then test!

this means i could change the function of an object by removing slots like this, i have turned a table for the outdoors into indoor seating, is this advanced stuff?
