Default I am building a 1918 Sears Kit House: The Magnolia. Need Furnishings help please.
Hello!
I am building this house: http://cdnpix.com/show/imgs/a9a9bb1...538c0d6ef96.jpg I have some wallpaper and floors, stairs, windows, kitchen appliances and plumbing. Though I'd like a better kitchen sink. But, I am not certain what Living Room furniture to put in a posh 1918 manor home any suggestions? I am open to bedroom/dining/study/Cellar/etc, also. Just looking for some really nice period pieces. Thanks for considering my post. =o)

Thank you so much! I wasn't sure what words to search for as I am very backwards about what was in style when. Even in my own lifetime. LOL Colonial. Thanks! I'll go check out those links!

Wow! Thank you! This Magnolia house is gonna rock! I'd upload it, but, (A) I'd have to learn how, , and (B) I use a mac now (PC died) and all the clean upload type utilities don't work for me. I have some global hacks in my downloads. Nothing crazy complicated. Just stuff like slower hygiene decay and eat civilized. and a few defaults some for clothes and hair, one for roof trim, things to stop NPC re-spawning and want spam. So, not filthy, but, definitely not "clean".
If anybody would like to have it and can "clean it" let me know. As of right now I have the building done and front lawn landscaped, the first floor is decorated and furnished I still nee to do the cellar and the second floor, and landscape the back yard. What with work, and RL I expect to be at this at least one more week, probably longer as I intend to do some complicated landscaping out back.

I am working on it, I almost have the back yard done. I have always been inspired by the gardens at the Vizcaya Museum down in Miami, Florida USA. Hard to duplicate on even the largest sims lot. LOL So, I picked a few pieces to add to my lot. I am using almost exclusively plastic plants because even with a gardener our Simmies would never be able to maintain such a large yard.

There is a hidden statue garden (behind hedges). Wish I had room for a maze. We need a fence that is thin hedge for that, I think. =o) A water garden that is also a swimming pool with a garden in the middle. There is also a folly which hides a sunken desert/cactus garden with a water fall flowing in from the pond outside... sort of. It's a fountain, a pond, and some water terrain paint. LOL Needs a soupçon of imagination. =o) Cuz... for one thing... where's the water go after it goes down the fall?

I am trying to use only game and MTS stuff to keep it simple for sharing. I'll try to spend some time figuring out the sharing things next week and hopefully post some pic for you to kibitz on. I still have the second floor and cellar to furnish when I get done with the final part of the back yard.

Well I use this hedge fencing and I love it
It's thin but maybe not as high that you want?

Thank you emmyjulia! They are shorter than I was thinking of, but will still work for an ornamental maze. =o)

Thank you again, EmmyJulia!

What the heck I'll give them both a try. Do you know if sims walk through these? Well I'll go play with them and find out. LOL

So,
I am back I played both and Iike the height on the deco ones, but prefer the seamlessness of the fence. Also I found that with each of them, the maze path must be at least two tiles wide or there is route fail and foot stomping. With a two tile path they work great and with the fence it is easy to see your sims walk the maze. I put a bench in the center and asked them to sit on it and they negotiated the maze perfectly. However there will be no maze with this house, as the two oil maze is too big to fit with what is already present on the lot.

If you select order by filnname, you will get a fairly straight forward tour of the house and grounds.
