Default Terrible Movies you've seen
This is a thread about terrible movies you have seen in your life it can be any genre.
To start, I thought Prom Night & Halloween(2007 film) was just really bad. 1. Prom Night was really boring because you could tell what's going to happen everytime in the movie and lot's of people saw it at my school and they said it was reall bad. I've seen it and the story was bad and the plot made no sense. 2. Halloween(2007 film) I thought it wasn't really scary all it was about was guy who try's to find his long lost sister and they way he finds his sister is he kills everyone in sight just to get to her. It was a bad movie I just didn't like the plot.

I try to avoid going to see bad movies at all costs but I was dragged to go see Little Fockers, it was horrible and made it made me more uncomfortable/disgusted then laugh.

Do you mean terrible as in no redeeming qualities, or terrible as in 'so bad it's hilarious'? I've seen some of both, though fewer of the former category, as I actually seek out the latter category. I can't remember many of those with no redeeming qualities because they are generally boring and I often can't finish them. A couple I can think of off the top of my head are The Libertine and the new Wolfman movie. The first was just awful, the second was boring and the star couldn't act. Like, painfully obviously couldn't act. I've never been so struck while watching a movie by the fact that someone couldn't act.

As for the hilariously bad movies I've seen, I've recently begun watching movies like that with friends. They've generally been really over-the-top horror movies with extremely excessive and fake-looking gore. Some examples of this include Meatball Machine, Ricky-Oh, and Bitch Slap. I think Tarantino's Grind House could probably be placed in the same category, though I would consider it to be of higher quality than the others.

Most of the people on there do humorous reviews of bad movies (and other things like tv shows, comics, etc.), or movies which we all saw as kids, and never realized were that bad until re-seeing them again years later (An example of this from my own childhood; The Great Chipmunk Adventure).

As for ones which I've seen more recently, well, there's just too many to name, especially in the comedy and horror departments. Most comedies (in the US anyway) seem to have become composed entirely of the worst bottom-of-the-barrel frat boy humor. Since when did depicting spousal abuse become funny?
And a lot of horror just ends up going for the blood and guts gross-out factor, or are rip-offs or remakes of good foreign films. A good example of the second type is the film Quarantine, which is a US re-make of the film [Rec.], which is supposed to be really good (I can't remember who made it, however). Here's the basic five-second summary of what watching Quarantine is like:

I actually did end up yelling that at the screen myself during the final act.

The Doom Generation. The only thing that kept me from leaving the cinema was Johnathon Schaech (and my secret hope that he would get into some hot action with James Duval). The movie was boring, pointless, with no real script, just sex and violence. It tried too hard to be shocking and unconventional and the result was just one WTF for me. When the movie was finally over, there was a long silence and then my friend apologized to me for dragging me to the cinema

Random order:

1. Hitman
2. Bloodrayne
3. Tomb Raider
4. Every other video game based movie, Max Payne and Resident Evil were a little better but still under decent

5. American pie
6. Twilight, gay porn isn't this gay.
7. Avatar
8. Speed Racer
9. Redline
10. Crank, all of them
11. Superman
12. Heavy Rain... what? It's not a movie? Well it sucks anyway.
13. Shrek 4
14. Star Wars
15. Star Trek

Ah and... Lord of The Rings. Maybe it's not bad but if you extend a movie for 12 bloody hours it just drags on and on. I'd prefer a good 2 hour movie.

Depending on which Superman movies and which Star Wars movies you're talking about, I would object to that.

The first Superman movie and the Richard Donner cut of the second are both quite good, but 3 is bad, 4 I've heard is the worst movie in existence, though I haven't seen it, and Returns was total character derailment. Star Wars 4-6 are very good, but I could barely stay awake through 1 & 2 and I didn't even bother with 3.

I also liked the new Star Trek movie, just not in the context of the Star Trek universe. As far as the old Star Trek movies go, I really like 1-4, didn't really like 5 or 6, and hated 7. It's been years since I've seen the others, so I couldn't say about those. I'm holding off on those until I finish watching the Next Generation TV series (I watched Generations already because it had Kirk in it and I didn't want to wait). And Lord of the Rings is good, but I haven't watched them recently because they're so long they kind of eat your day.

I have to agree with anothereyjana about recent comedies. Most of them are just stupid and I don't find stupidity for its own sake funny. I keep trying to watch comedies, thinking that maybe this recent trend of humor is going to go away, and I keep getting disappointed. It's hard to describe what I don't like about it, but most recent comedies have had this very awkward type of humor. I've been told by some of my peers that they think that this sort of comedy is supposed to appeal to our generation (I'm 20, for reference), but I just don't get what's supposed to be funny about it.

Star Wars and Star Trek all suck. As for Superman, the 21st century ones suck.

You haven't seen bad until you've seen The Room. It's absolutely horrible and unintentionally hilarious: the acting is atrocious, the script is randomly slapped together and the movie mainly consists of people saying "Oh, hi [insert name]!" (< it's a link, btw, click it)

Words can't adequately describe this hilarity, though, it's one of these movies that are so bad that you just have to see them yourself.

OK, TUN3R, I have to say there is a difference between "movies I hate" and "movies that roundly suck." Maybe not all of those titles on your list are your sort of movie, but that doesn't mean they suck: you just didn't like them. There is a difference. Now, for a movie that is beyond all measure of awful, you'd have to sit through MegaForce. Or maybe Punch Drunk Love. Plotless wonders.

What a story, Vacuum Melon!

I second this. The Room is brilliant. It's art. If life was an M. Night Shyamalan, the twist would be that The Room is actually God.

I thought it was obvious that when I say something sucks it means I hate it.

JB sucks, that means everybody else hates her? Ok bad example...

The Island of Dr. Moreau, 1996

Was it a terrible movie? Many critics and audience agree on this. I agree as well, but it had charm. Understand that for a preteen it was a better production than any stock 90's screendump for children.

A look at what was available for us in 1996:

All Dogs Go to Heaven 2
D3: The Mighty Ducks
Flipper
Homeward Bound II: Lost in San Francisco
Space Jam
The Wind in the Willows
101 Dalmatians
The Adventures of Pinocchio

In comparison to anything on that list, The Island of Dr. Moreau was the Raiders of the Lost Ark. Instead of kooky animation I got a glimpse of acting, indications of what a character was thinking, their intentions. David Thewlis was it in that movie and it was the only one where I saw Marlon Brando. That film was all bad, but for me it was amusing, magical entertainment. You want me to skip THIS GEM having the entire room in peace because nobody is watching it, and you want to force me to watch Homeward Bound II instead with noisy children that smell like pee and muttering parents?

Over my dead body.

Quibbling about semantics, are we? I suppose we should define "sucks" before we reply to the thread.

Sucks: inherently worthless, without merit or value, i.e. =BAD, in its essence. As opposed to Hate: verb, transitive, to detest or loathe. I hate X. X sucks. BUT, Hate does not equal Sucks. Others may find that they love X. It is possible that my personal preference leads me to overlook merits of X. X may not be inherently worthless even if I hate it.

That's all I'm saying ...

Any movie made after a game sucks.
Almost any movie made after a book sucks.
Any russian movie made after 80s sucks.

Movies I hate: Titanic, Fifth Element, Titanic, American Pie (and any other comedy of that type), Titanic, and, well, other movies I hate were not as popular, so I don't remember titles... wait... did I mention Titanic?

I don't like war movies. I don't hate them, but I mostly find them incredibly boring. The only ones that are exciting are movies like Schindler's list were it's more about the prisoners than the war itself. Also I can't stand sci-fi. Robots and other planets just don't excite me that much, while I absolutely LOVE medieval stuff.

I'm surprised Cloverfield hasn't been mentioned. It's been a long time since I saw it but from what I remember, one of the best parts was when one of the characters mentioned Garfield. Other than that I didn't like the style it was filmed, I don't think the whole movie should have been like that. I don't remember the dialogue being that good either. Overall it was just bad.

Shrek the Third I didn't like that much. It just wasn't as funny as the others. Thankfully, Forever After was better.

I thought Burlesque was pretty terrible. I had the lowest possible expectations for that I could have and still want to see the movie (I'm a bit of a sucker for awesome costumes and choreographed song-and-dance numbers) and ugh...

It was every "show biz" cliche you can imagine with terribly unbelievable characters and some shmaltzy scenes just dropped in out of the blue to make-believe character development was happening (e.g. Cher and alcoholic-girl pouting about how they were such great friends once when there was never shown to be anything more than a manager/dancer relationship between them, or a couple of the solos that existed to be convenient commentary on what the character was going through at the time). Also, the whole big deal with Christina Aguilera's character was that she would sing live... except all her songs were just as very obviously recorded and edited and produced as the earlier songs in the film.

Off the top of my head:

Iron Man - Politically disgusting pro-militarisation, racist schlock with a few cheap laughs but nothing that made it worth watching. Such a waste of time and money.
The Brood - Psychic troll dolls in snow jackets do not make great horror villains.
The Dark Knight - Worst, stupidest defense of Bush era politics masquerading as a superhero film I've seen. Braindead and shallow.
The Happening - M. Night Shyamalan. Nuff said.
De-Lovely - One of those really offensively shallow and unmoving biopics that just cheapens the life of a great person.
Dream Girls - Same as De-Lovely, but worse.
House of Wax - Could also compete for best film due to Paris Hilton's role.
Donnie Darko - Pretentious shlock with loads of atmosphere and little serious interest. The most over-rated movie of all time, ever, bar none.
A Tale of Two Sisters - Meaningless twaddle.

I've seen Iron Man 1 & 2 the 1st one was ok but I think the 2nd one had more of a story to it. I've seen the Happening & that movie was so boring the story and the plot were terrible haven't seen House of Wax, Dream Girls, Donnie Darko or A Tale of Two Sisters before.

I actually kind of liked The Happening. Not because it was a good movie, mind you, not at all, but because the stupid, over-elaborate deaths made me laugh my ass of...even though that obviously wasn't the film's intention (as an actual thriller/horror, well, it failed spectacularly on every single account, including basic science). My personal favorites happened to be the scene with the lawnmower , the lion one , and John Leguizamo's (spelling?) death . Yeah, when you've gotten to the whole (supposed to be) intensely emotional and tragic death of one of the main characters, and all the audience can do is snicker at how goofy it is/looks, then you've pretty much failed at storytelling.

Haunting of Molly Hartely. The previews were great but the movie just sucked. I found the acting to be pretty bad,and the story seemed obvious.

"Ella Enchanted". Lame. Completely lame. Unfortunately, that didn't result in a "lmfao" bad movie, just a "facepalm" bad movie. Then again, I suppose at 18-years-old I probably was not the film's target audience. :P

This is why you should never go to a party where the hosts insist on watching a G-rated movie, but didn't actually think to have any good ones in the house.

How has nobody mentioned Paranormal Activity? The worst film I have ever seen. I can only assume Paranormal Activiy 2 was even worse, but I didn't bother to see that one.
