Guidelines/Rubrics Changes
As always, ModTheSims strives to make uploading as painless as possible and we're constantly looking for ways to improve our guidelines, queue time, and rubrics to make life easier on uploaders and moderators alike while still maintaining the high level of quality content accepted on this site. To that end, we've made a few changes to the following areas:TS2:
'Other Content' for Lots: In the future, if you create content to be included with your lot, whether it is a new mesh, new wallpaper, or recolors, we will require that you adequately provide information and screenshots of the additional content. We've had this rule in place for TS3/TS4 and for TS2 sims, but somehow it has never made it to the TS2 Lots guidelines.
Store Content: The restriction on including store content in your TS2 lots/sim uploads has been removed. Please note that this means that you may ONLY include TS2 Store Content IF your lot/sim utilizes that particular item. You may not just upload a lot that has all store content scattered about, or upload the store content on its own.
TS3:
Lot Package Files: In addition to sims3packs for lots, we will now also accept package files. These are the files that you get when you save a lot to the bin. They, however, must be renamed to something unique and readable, like any other package file uploaded. You may not leave the ebf_[instance name] as the name of your lot. Something like user123_RedBrickVictorian is fine.
TS4:
Trait Mods: As of late, we have been receiving a lot of trait mods for TS4. While we've always checked the quality of trait mods, we did not have a particular rubric for them. To that end, a rubric for Buffs and Whims Quality has been added which will, hopefully, make things easier and faster for our TS4 queue mods to adequately give you feedback on the trait mod you've submitted.
Please note that, while mental illness mods are popular, we will not be accepting offensive or insensitive stereotypical portrayals of real life diagnoses. If you choose to create a mod that is a reflection of a real life medical diagnosis, it should be well thought out and researched to be as accurate and sensitive to those with that diagnosis as possible and should reflect both the positive and negative aspects of living with that diagnosis.

Oooh yay! I have sims that would like to see the light of day and find homes in other folks' games, but they were using Store content which prevented them from uploading.
Allow me a question though - how do we provide credit for TS2 Store content?

Same as you would any other credit. You would just not have a link that would follow. So "Hair 123 from TS2 Store" would be fine. I think most people still playing TS2 know the store is gone.

Do we still have to upload a .sims3pack version of the lot when we opt to upload it as .package? And if so, do they have to be in the same .zip/.rar package?

You do not! Packages can be offered as an alternative to sims3packs. Some people prefer one or the other; MTS will now allow either format, both are not required or necessary. If you like uploading your lot as a sims3pack, you may continue doing so without changing anything.

Cool, I was kind of right in the middle of uploading a new lot. Or I wasn't, but I was planning to. Good to know I no longer need to use a damn Sims3Pack.

THANK YOU. I avoid sims3packs like the plague and prefer how easy it is to install packages instead
Tumblr - more downloads! ◾ CC reuploads / creator backups ◾ TS3 CAS Conversion Catalog - for basegame, EP, SP, and Store clothing!

Ha, same! I convert all sims3packs to packages, even worlds. Thank, well I guess Delphy, for the multi-extracter! The only thing that gets installed in my game as sims3packs are store content which helps me keep things organized. Drag and drop, ftw!
