"Hell" - by The Squirrel Nut Zippers

Jimbo Mathus' voice reminds me so much of the Robot Devil's voice, that I can't help but wonder if Dan Castellaneta took any inspiration from him.

^ Really loved Kool and the Gang, I was 13 when Wild and Peaceful came out. It was one of the first ten albums I ever owned. Had the pleasure of seeing Rush a few times in the mid-late 70's. I think I'll go outside and give some clouds an earful.

I've never heard of them but it's like the 1970s have come back to dance. I hear flavours of Rush, Led Zeppelin, Blue Oyster Cult, Bad Company and a few others I can't recall at the moment. Nice.

@310175 Yes, they are very retro, but I love them! Act one of that show here. They mostly get compared to Zeppelin, especially because of Highway. New album pending, so watch this space!

^^I like this, but I have no idea of what she's singing or what the song is about! Is there a translation anywhere?

@simsample -

I never checked what the lyrics were about before - I made a story in my head that because it's called 'drink i'm sippin' on', it was about that feeling you get when you're sippin' on your drink - like you're in a peaceful bubble space and everything's okay and there's no need for words. In other words, one of the stages of drunkenness lol

@RoseCity That's so cool, she's picked the lyrics not only for their meaning but also for the way they sound! Very beautiful.

@Noa1500 I had to listen to the whole album here, very cool! I'm more of a rock fan but my husband absolutely loves this kind of music, and he of course wanted to know who it was that I was playing. 'Oh, just Kiki Gyan, you know...' He was impressed that I'd 'discovered' some 'new' music for him! Tragic story of Kiki's life though.

@RoseCity I think British punk is an acquired taste, I have a soft spot for punk!

Rush made a new video for an old track.
