Default You know you've been playing The Sims too long when (Sims 4 version).....
You google "gardening", expecting to find out something about types of plants available in the game, but forget to put "Sims 4" in the search field and are momentarily confused when you get results related to actual live gardening things.

You know, this was meant to be a fun thread. Stating the same old lament in every thread at every opportunity gets a little boring. Go play outside for a bit.

When you see Eliza Pancakes walking around town, think "I could have sworn I killed her", and remember that you have multiple save files

You know you've been playing the Sims too long when you start mumbling to yourself/having fake arguments with people in Simlish instead of <insert native language>

... and you actually kinda think you understand yourself.

I actually did this recently with the gardening skill, because I wasn't paying attention (trying to Google while my game is open is never a good idea). And I frequently catch myself looking at real life surroundings (like in stores or watching HGTV or the DIY channel) and thinking of things in terms of whether they're routing is good or not. Ha! I'm nuts!

I like these kinds of threads. I think they're fun. Poop on someone for disagreeing!

This! Well... it still haven't killed my laptop, but one person scared me that it will and I'm kind afraid of launching the sims game so I try to play it less than I used to

For me it was when I was looking through the list of apartments for rent online, saw one I really liked but over my budget so I seriously thought about turning "freerealestate on" for a tiny micromili second before I realized real life doesn't work like the sims... sigh

...when you're about to create a party in Dragon Quest and name them after your favourite premades.

...and then spend some time wondering what character class they'd actually like to be instead of optimizing your team.

Dang, the Sims ruined me

When you visit a new place and immediately think: I should make this in The Sims! Or you're visiting a friend and you start measuring out their living room in terms of little squares that Sims would fit into.

Oh, I relate to this one, very much. Every nice house I see, I say "I should remember this so I can build it in the sims".

I know I've been playing too long when I am trying to do something else (another game or project, ect), and I am complaining my computer is starting to running slow, to which my fiancee usually responds "Do you still have the sims running?"

...Oh yeah.

When you find yourself thinking in Sims terms/square grids when planning the remodelling of your kitchen. :P

Also, when the Sims ends up changing what pairing you root for in a show. (Made a huge family of characters from a show on a whim, and intended Kane and Abby to be a couple. Worked them up to a decent romantic level, but with a lot of sims to deal with all of them had a lot of time doing stuff autonomously. Each and every time I was occupied with something else, Kane went off on his own and romanced Indra. Huh. Tried to repair the damage a couple of times, but he kept making a beeline for Indra whenever I was doing anything else, so - Kane and Indra it is. XP) (And yeah, I know that's not anything in the show, but then I don't watch that either. It was all just a whim.)
