I still have my eye on your ribbon. ) They are taking up my free time - that and mostly work .. I guess I better get back to creating stuff and working on the wiki again.....

I just put together a Power Point presentation of Faylen's Skinning Tutorial, Part 2. Would you be interested in that?

I guess this is where the wiki acheivements posts go now, huh. All right, I'll repost what I posted in the previous thread, in case that gets lost

Perhaps to get the links section noticed more, there should be a Fansites section under the "Site" category, to just straight to the Sims 2 and Sims 3 links. Prior to the staff announcing that certain Wikipages were neglected, I never knew there was a links section.

Hey Dal!

I've been storming the Sims 3 content list!

I've typed "INVALID LINK" to flag links not properly directed.
I did this instead of deleting, because sometimes one can find a working link.
(Some of those "invalid links" I just updated to new site)

I also started moving the "invalid links" listings to the bottom of the lists.
Is there another way to be handling this?

Also, Dal, if some of these "INVALID LINKS" are at Sims Cave or graveyard,
do we update links to there?

What about links that point to sites that require registration just to see the stuff?
Ixnay or keepway?

I've also been updating the list with new stuffz & getting things back to alpha order so it's easy on the eyes. :D

ps~ Here ya go!

I wanted to help in this section: http://simswiki.info/wiki.php?title...tern,_and_Harem.
I even made a wiki account for it to be more productive for this site.
But it seems you can't edit on the section I picked?
While I think there is probably more to add there too?

For the sims 2 Section of the wiki, how about we create a page with a list of all the problems available in the game and the corresponding fixes? Since not all fixes are available in one site, they are scattered through several.

Sorry everyone, I've been a little busy with RL things. School just started a couple of weeks ago and then that blasted hurricane came through. Anyhoos!

Moving invalid/broken links to the bottom is fine, I guess. Just make sure to move them back into the correct order if a working link is ever found. As far as linking to the Sims Cave and/or Graveyard, I'm not entirely sure what's the policy on this. I'm still waiting to hear back from HR on what to do . So I think for now it's best to just leave them as invalid links since I would hate to see you go add all those links and then they have to be removed.

Also, sites that require registration are fine. Registration can be a PITA, but as long as the item is still free then no further action needs to be done.

That section is locked for editing. Give me a few minutes and I'll temporarily allow access for y'all.

Hmmm I'm not sure on this one. I'm not too familiar as to how TS2 is laid out but I can assume they're all organized into some type of category. At this moment I would say don't touch anything pre-existing. But, I'd be fine if you wanted to create a new page and make a compilation of all the fixes (with links to the original help/solution pages). Then, we could link to your new Mega All-In-One page in the help section.

How NSFW are we talking? If it's purely sim on sim genital grindin' going on, then no. But stuff that's "erotic" and sexy - not necessarily pornographic - should be fine. Be sure to mark these as 18+ and if the creators preview pictures are just too hot to handle, use the most "modest" screenshot they have to display it and then simply link to their download page for more pictures and information. Or, if all else fails, you way have to manually blur their screenshots.

Yeah, ofcourse we're going to be needing a new page, or two.

Go for it!

EDIT - News on Sims Cave and/or Graveyard Links

Linking to these sites is okay if the original site/item is truly dead. However, we ask that you keep the original link intact, and use the Sims Cave/Graveyard link as an alternative.

So I've been delving into wiki editing.. and have so far updated the FIshing, Insects, and Gems section of the Sims 3 Game Guides. I am currently working on the Plants section, and hope to have all or atleast most of the broken images fixed on the pages I'm working on (they're new images for stuff that hadn't been added since pets, or so).. Since I'm a collect-a-holic it made sense for me to work on these sections of the wiki :D

I would like to know if anyone knows where to find the inventory icon sized images of fish, and plants in the game files, it would help me to make the images quicker rather than having to spawn the items and then Print Scrn and edit in Photoshop.....

I've hit a small snag with the plants page update.... I've got the .xml file that lists all the plants from Base Game to Supernatural.... It lists MOST the information needed for the wiki page.. It does NOT however list the skill requirement for the new plants (there's one from Showtime, and about 11 from Supernatural)... Any idea where I can find the information that I need?

In general, all images will be in the FullBuild2 or DeltaBuild2.package files - probably the DeltaBuild in the basegame folder. However, inventory images might be generated by the game on the fly, in which case they could perhaps be in one of the files in Documents/TS3/Thumbnails - or they might not.

What I lack in decorum, I make up for with an absence of tact.

They do seem to be generated on the fly with a composite from the Documents/EA/TS3/Thumbnails files, and a UI thumbnail file.. Guess I'll have to do it the old fashioned way, via print scrn...

I made some time and updated the Fairy, Genie, and Simbot gameplay guides. I'll slowly but surely bring all the occult type pages into one roughly recognisable and fact-filled format over the next few days.

I'm off to watch some Angel. If anyone wants to add the Related Pages to those ones I just chucked up, feel free!

Edit: Quickly sniped Imaginary Friend before maybe going to bed. Might grab a few others first.

Also, regarding the idea of listing bugs in one place, I actually started doing this over on my wiki at one stage. Anyone is welcome to migrate what's up here over to Sims Wiki and expand it: http://cawtool.wikia.com/wiki/List_...s_in_The_Sims_3

I really found it was too much work and research for just me alone.
