Default [solved] A way to make stairs not go transparent?
Is there any way to stop stairs from turning transparent when zooming in? I would like to be able to take close up pics with my stairs in them, but I can't find a way to make them not disappear. I've searched for a mod for this and haven't found one, but I've had trouble searching (I keep getting results about objects disappearing due to glitches instead).

Is it possible to do this?

Thank you!

The best option is to get a camera mod that reduces the fading of objects. There's one here: http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=97642 (I think I've got this or one that's very similar to this).

If you're taking pictures, using the CameraMan mode (TAB button) should also remove the fade on stairs and objects. You can use the mouse, the ASWD (or arrow buttons) and E+Q to move the camera around.

You can also change the placement flags for the object's Function - Init in SimPE. That's what I did to stop the hanging plants from fading out when zooming in. Like simmer22 says, in TAB mode, they don't fade out. That's easiest if you just want an occasional shot.

If you use SimPE, changing the placement flags is pretty easy, but even if not, if you want to tackle the Funciton-Init, it looks scarier than it really is. This is a post in a long thread that describes the way placement is determined for objects. This post tells the line that makes them fade.

Thank you!! I just tried that mod and it's exactly what I was looking for.

I'm not sure if I trust myself to do that correctly. But I have saved the instructions in case I want to try it at some point. Thanks!
