texture coloring
Hi,
This is probably a silly question, but I can't figure it out.
I made an object (a bar stool), UV mapped it, made texturein Photoshop, etc. etc.

After I did the whole SimPE thing, accoording to JWoods tutorial, the texture looked really strange, blotchy.

As an experiment I made the texture a solid color. Now the object is that color but still blotchy. (see pictures).
Can anybody explain why?

I bet it also refers to a texture called "reflectionkitchenhighcontrast-envcube", that usually causes that kind of an appearance. Or, alternatively it's some other setting in the Material Definition for the mesh. Open the TXMT (material definition) for the chair mesh and look for a line called stdMatEnvCubeTextureName, click it, hit delete and Commit. Then click on the line called stdMatEnvCubeMode, and change its value to "none" in the box on the right and click Commit. Then change the value for the line called stdMatEnvCubeCoef to "0,0,0" and Commit. Then click on the File List tab next to the Properties tab, select the line called reflectionkitchenhighcontrast-envcube, click delete and then Commit. (Probably doesn't hurt to Fix Integrity at this point.) Then save. Now try if the chair looks the way you want it to .

I figured it out once when I made a table lamp and got this weird looking reflection on the lamp stand .
