Cats and Dogs Update (v1.36) 07/11/17: THE BIG ONE - New Roof Types, Shrink Objects, Culling Options, Photography for All, Crapload of bug fixes
This patch breaks most mods, so please remove/disable them before updating the game
November 16 2017: A hotfix (v1.36.104.1020) has been released, fixing the save corruption issue when deleting households. Additionally, unplayable deceased Sims no longer count towards the population count displayed in Manage Households.
November 9 2017: A hotfix (v1.36.102.1020) has been released, fixing the relationship bug introduced by the patch.
This is a BIG patch (2.56 GB) adding some new content and fixing a lot of long-standing technical issues with the game. I've edited out all the nonsense from the patch notes this time around since it's a long read. You can read the full notes here.
This patch supposedly fixes the damn time reversing issue that has plagued many of us to the point of the game being unplayable, among other very irritating problems. Supposedly some Dine Out fixes are included, but EAxis messed up the patch notes (lol?)
Undocumented changes and feature additions
General- New music has been added to the game.
- All Time Low – Good Times (Pop)
- Andrew McMahon In The Wilderness – Walking In My Sleep (Alternative)
- Baio – Key Is Under The Mat (Alternative)
- Becky Hill – Unpredictable (Pop)
- Middle Kids – Mistake (Alternative)
- The game will no longer freeze at 8am when children in the household go to school.
- Sims no longer walk on waterslides.
- Graves now have an option to "Strengthen Connection to Physical World", which must be used to bind the ghost to the world or they will no longer haunt Sims.
- Sims dining at a restaurant now properly sit and socialise with each other.
- New animations when Sims greet each other.
- Dig sites can now be spawned by collectible spawners
- Get leftovers interaction now available on fridges
- An object that is preventing another object from being placed is now highlighted in red in Build Mode.
- New pastel colour swatches for base-game counters.
- 3 new roof trim options
- Aliens and Vampires are now found in CAS under the new "Occult" category.
- Makeup options have been disabled for toddlers.
- Skin details have been enabled for Aliens
- The Sims 4 console files have been added to the game for unknown reasons.

I thought we were getting a start menu change aswell, did I dream that?
Edit: I haven't checked in my game yet, but I think the start a new game button doens't take you to cas anymore, but straight to the game.

Here's an idea: a slider for how often aliens abduct people. Giving players a choice - what a concept!

Just a heads up for those updating their game before S4Studio, and TSRW have been updated for the new patch--CC beds are broken including Veranka and Orangemittens separated mattresses -- any placed pre-patch will still work but if you buy new ones they will just disappear and you will be out your money... So if you are a CC junkie like me either don't update or install Cats and Dogs until TSRW and S4Studio have been updated to batch fix the problems or don't use CC beds for awhile .. I have not heard of anything else being broken yet

I am patching. It is so odd. The time left keeps going up and down over and over. I have never seen that before.

really digging the non-derp version of patch notes. I'm all for a laugh and chuckle but their patch notes are really never funny. Thank you for sharing and translating for the rest of us.

Excellent fixes! Glad to see some issues I've had are fixed in the update and not mod related. I think I'll hold off playing until some of the important mods I use are fixed.
ETA: I went into my game to check things out, but without loading any households. I entered create-a-sim for a particular sim and found that Kijiko's lashes were still working for me for THAT sim. Seems like the version two lashes are not displaying quite as expected, but the others are okay.

The size down cheat is most welcome. I don't play the game anymore, but it'd be great for some of the oversized items for players who are trying to go for a more realistic look in their decorating.

This seems like a long enough list to get me to at least open the game again. I am curious to see how many of these things will improve my experience as compared to when I played a year ago

Glad to see a lot of quirks, bugs, and features were fixed. Now I have to go back to "Playing Process of Elimination to see; which of my mods is causing my main Sims to not appear in their house. (slams head on desk!) Probably better off waiting for the mods to be updated.

I dreaded this. I was hoping to get my massive Wentworth project out before the update, but perhaps it's just as good I didn't everything has to be updated anyway, and after all I know how it works.
I expect lots of complaints in the future about glitchs from people who haven't been paying attention.
For that reason I might as well get on with it, when a fix has been made for the creators that is.

The trait I made with Zerbu Mod Constructor no longer works at all, even in a new game, won't even show up. I wish Sims4Studio had a trait-making interface.

I'm simply not going to update my game until all mods are updated, but I assume that won't be possible to avoid when actually installing Cats & Dogs

I took out all my mods. After I tossed the game I was working on and started fresh, all of the mega-packs that I created for myself that houses tons of content from various sites works just fine, so the cloths, decorations, all fine, and that was the majority of my mods, so I'm happy there.
I love MCC and luckily version 3.9.2 which came out today works. Deaderpool says there's more bugs to address but the game is functional with 3.9.2.
Weebs says he's have his UI revised by the end of the week, so that's good.
Between the CC I've accumulated, Deader's MCC and Weeb's UI, I'm 98% happy with the changeover, but I sure wish my trait worked. I'll have to hunt around for another trait-maker, the one I made with the Constructor isn't compatible.
