Default Graphics
I hope this is the right place to talk about it.
I'm Italian, I apologize for my bad English, I use the translator.
I had already asked such a question before, but I would like more information.

I would like to install Hack to have a more realistic view (landscape, houses, etc. etc.). I would also like to install the Patch 4gb (which I was advised).

But I don't want to create computer problems or have problems with the game, so I would like to know if my computer is good for the sims or if I have to install something.

My laptop specs are very similar to yours, but mine is a Dell. I mostly use everything avaliable (high distance view, horizons, clouds, lots of neighborhood decoration, tons of custom content on my sims) and it handles it fine. I can't use lighting mods and post processing stuff though, it makes my game laggy. My laptop is 6 years old (I think) though so maybe if yours is newer you can push it further.

Thank you both.
Being Italian I don't understand that video (Jessi's one), and I followed this one that shows how to do it

The problem is that following the steps does not make any changes to me.

It doesn't instantly change your game into a shiny thing - the 4gb patch is simply to make sure that you don't get pink flashing when your game thinks your graphics card has less memory than it does.

Mods are what changes the look of the game itself - not the 4gb patch. If you followed the instructions, you probably did it right. Now you can download things like the radiance mod, skylines and skies etc. to make the hood look better in hood view. You can also go into your game and open the settings tab and then push your settings up to high to make the game look better.

4gb patch does more than make the graphics work. It makes more memory available for your game to run period. 32 gb programs are inherently limited to about 2 gbs unless the patch is applied. They can use up to 4 gbs of ram with the patch. Also on the other thread the op mentioned having a low processor. With all packs installed a 2 gbs processor, along with custom content is going to have a problem.
