Requested registry access is not allowed?
Must . . . resist . . . the urge to kill my computer . . .

For some reason I keep getting this error when I try to access this program:

System.Security.SecurityException: Requested registry access is not allowed.
at Microsoft.Win32.RegistryKey.OpenSubKey(String name, Boolean writable)

. . . I've searched EVERYWHERE for a solution for a week. Nothing works for me.

My System:
Windows XP S2

I'm not sure what other information to provide, since I'm pretty new to this . . . I will provide it if its needed to help solve this annoying problem. *sighs*

I am patient, and I am grateful for any help I get. :lovestruc Thanks.

Do you have administrator status on your PC? Some PCs are set up so the household IT specialist or control freak has administrator status and the rest of you are just users. That means that you can't do everything they can do like edit the registry... There's a thread somewhere here about editing the registry I think - if you search on that you might get a few pics and a good walkthrough. I've seen something linked.
