Default Machinima Makers: How to make a sim talk while doing an action?
Hello everyone,

I've been working on making videos with The Sims 2, and I was wondering if there's a way to make sims appear to be talking while they do gameplay actions like dish washing, cooking, walking by "Go here". I know with talking hacks it is possible to make a sim talk while posing, but I'm wondering if that's also possible during some actions.

Thanks for your help!

There are several talking overlay boxes, such as the ones by Decorgal. These add the mouth movements to the sims, sometimes also the body animations from the waist up. They're best used with other overlay boxes that pose the body.

Their boxes were up at the Graveyard, but since the site is down atm, here's some of the boxes reuplaoded: https://simfileshare.net/download/417153/
Some are still available here at MTS (pose section)

A few "how-to's" (not sure which ones I included in the link above, but these show the principle of how to use them)

I've found the face animations work best with pose/animation overlays. They're less effective with most ingame animations, particularly the ones with very animated faces, and sometimes don't work reliably at all. You may get lucky with paused pictures (which is what I mostly do), but in live mode the face sometimes jump between the original and overlay.
