how to download object into CAW
I found a bench I would like to add to my CAW I think the bench along walking paths will be nice. I downloaded it but now I don't know where to place it so I can use it. And for it to show up in my Sims 3 game do i have to add it to the electronic arts file and if so which one please. I found the bench and other stuff here ( https://aroundthesims3.com/objects/room_caw_01.shtml )
thank you for the help this is the last step before i put the world i have been working on.

A word of advice about adding benches here and there without it being on a lot. Your silly sims will hop on a horse, get in a taxi, pedal their bikes and run for miles to that bench to eat an ice cream or read a book.

So it would be better if i did not place picnic table's or trash cans or fire pits along paths right? But after i place an object and then use sims non routable would that keep them from using the object? I really just thought it would make my would look better. thank you for the help

I've only had issues with park benches and I think there is a fountain that a sim can sit on. They will, as I said, high-tail it to that object. I don't know why..but they do.
I guess you can try placing them and then put the routing paint under and around them and see what happens?
I have made tiny "lots" and placed benches on them just for looks. You can make any size lot in CaW, pretty much.
The only other thing would be to find those objects as "deco" only (not usable by sims).
