If I miss any, someone feel free to correct me, but my understanding is as follows:
-Dark blue is a basic member
-Orange is a creator
-Light blue is a Site Helper
-Light green is a Moderator (or any level of retired site staff)
-Dark Green is a Senior Moderator
-Purple is a Super Moderator
-Red is an Administrator (or a Delphy)

I thought black was a basic member (maybe it depends on the style you have set)?
Also, notdelphyanymore - hope he doesn't see that (pace Tashiketh)

SimSample is a rule unto themselves (though you're right, retired mods go gray - and WHAT DID YOU EXPECT?)

Yeah, my light went out!
But really, I was a Super Mod, which is purple (the only one now existing is the MTS2Staff account) and I am orange now so it seems that the creator colour has trumped my ex-staff colour.
