OMG - is that real? I never finished 4! If it's real (and not multiplayer) I might have a FO4 summer in preparation.

It's kind of odd but I never liked a Bethesda game before Fallout - seems I like the setting but a fantasy setting leaves me cold. At least with that game system. I tried Skyrim but ....meh.

I think that's probably because Fallout feels closer to reality, despite still being fantasy.
Now I'm not against another Fallout title, but it's been seven years since Skyrim came out where as Fallout 4 came out 3 years ago. 7 years vs 3. The time is ripe for another TES.

Its set at just 25 years after the great war.
Can't wait till June 10 at 6:30 pm PST.
They are doing what they did with Fallout 3 and New Vegas, New Vegas came out about 2 years after Fallout 3.

I thought they were doing something different this time around? A lot of rumours I've read seem to suggest 76 will be the TES Online of the Fallout series and not a spin-off game.
But I mean when New Vegas came out Oblivion was a little over 4 years out, not 7. Those extra three years really add up. Skyrim is ancient in terms of video game technology.

I'm not sure it's that - I liked Dragon Age well enough but it does look like I prefer scifi - somewhat to my surprise. I'm more a fan of Mass Effect despite liking DA.

Yes there are rumors out there but we will just have to wait and see, June 10 will come but the wait will be hard to do.

Technically Skyrim keeps getting re-released so it doesn't feel like seven years since its original release date. Maybe that is why people are more set on Fallout getting a release first?
Either way, I'm excited for Fallout 76. Fallout is my favorite series, despite all of its ups and downs. I want to be optimistic about 76 but if it's anything like 4 was then I'll just keep to my pessimistic ways haha.

I'm bracing myself to be either pleasantly surprised or unpleasantly not surprised - hoping for pleasantly surprised! Would love some new Fallout, am just hoping it's not going to be only online multiplayer....

I really did not like what I saw but still did the pre-order of the Power Armour Special Edition and will do the beta testing.
He said you can play single player but have no idea if there are any NPC's to help out or buy stuff from like in FO4.

Sorry to bring the bad news, but 76 will be a survivor co-op game. Nothing like the previous Fallout games. You can play alone (not "single-player", just alone, without grouping with others) but the game is optimized for live player groups. Also, in an interview after the E3 presentation, Todd Howard repeated that there would be no human NPCs - each human you will see on the map, are live players. The quests will be given by notes, the Overseer's messages and any found clues.
I wish though that you could be able to try the beta, to make if it's your game or not.

Here's one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FV63b6empgM
I'll be waiting until after launch to see if anyone is having fun/excited for this one - completely underwhelmed by the concept but you never know.

Thanks for the link - just watched it and liked the overall look of the game and that you can play it solo. Todd Howard did explain in the video that they'd had the itch to make a multiplayer Fallout and felt they just had to try it, so here it is. Can only hope it will be good either played solo or with just a few friends on a private server.
The 'trailer' of the 'new Skyrim game' included in that video was pretty funny! (At 3:45.)

Argh, just been reading that it's going to be always-online even if you just want to play solo. And also that it probably can't be modded. Disappointing on both counts!

Yes he said in the beginning but later they will add support for modding.

Multiplayer probably also means no VATS. This requires pausing or at least slowing down combat. Which would make you slow down other players.Which would not make fun gameplay.

I dunno - not keen on multiplayer as a general rule (though I played ME3MP to death) - I wouldn't mind taking part in the beta though I guess whoever is taking part has already got a spot.

You have to pre-order to get a spot for beta.

Does it do the same things? Hitting certain bodyparts and checking accuracy etc? I guess it turns into some form of auto-aim then. Handy for people who are not really good at shooters, but I wonder what the benefit is for people who are good at shooters. Can be interesting, also how it will be tied to spending points in skills etc.
