Any mods to remove the Unsavory Charlatan?
The Unsavory Charlatan is an NPC that's similar to Mrs. Crumplebottom but unlike that old lady from Nightlife, he appears in every neighborhood (even the main neighborhood). He usually annoys me (and my Sims) so it might be nice to find a mod to remove him. Will ya?

I know there is one, just can't recall who/ where.
However, if you use the Visitor Controller by TwoJeffs it's easy to ban him.

Now why would anyone want to get rid of the adorable penguin? The others in the mod I can understand, but not our little penguin. He's the closest we can come in sims 2 to the much missed Claire the Bear

I think I wouldn't mind him if he didn't bring with him the dreaded Hood Curse should something go wrong. After my daughter saw the Witch Doctor pass by the house in her hood once (and no, she didn't do any VBTs, and we're still scratching our heads over that one years later), and after I had a Tour Guide call one of my Sims once (ditto) we take no chances with these NPCs. Unlike Mrs. C, I don't think he's a potential game jinx (just a hood one), but still, I don't want anything to do with him.

I like the charlatan, it reminds me of my trips to Paris where I would witness a gypsy pick pocket a tourist in front of my very own eyes. Of course, like any seasoned traveler...i paid that lucky woman a good penny to teach me the arts of pick pocketing. I've never used it personally but I do pickpocket my husband every now and then. =]

Only if you interact with it in a way the game did not intend, such as select it and play it. I think you have to be purposely out to do that, though. I could be wrong.
I just can't ban the penguin. Too cute. The Charlatan, however, I do not find cute.

Some of us are still scratching our heads over the Good Witch Cat and the Spectral Assistant, but from what I can glean (I am not one of the Knowledgeable Ones, so do not take my word as absolute here, but I have asked about the cat a couple of times), the problem arises if, again, you select the Good Witch Cat and the Spectral Assistant and try playing them in a way the game did not intend.
The only other thing that might cause some concern is a CC mod that can cause unexpected and undesirable behavior, such as a romantic mod I have that apparently turns Mrs. C into a raging hunka hunka burnin' love if I accidentally leave it activated on a community lot when she's on it. I've learned to be really, really careful if the mod is turned on. (It is useful in some instances, such as a wild party on a community lot.) As in extraordinarily careful. As in, I watch any Sim that goes even remotely near the lot, and make sure I can easily click the Visitor Controller at all times. And that's another reason why Mr. Charlatan is banned from all my lots. In addition to my not wanting to see what can't be unseen if I activate the mod (no ... just ... no), I'd rather not toast my hood. I tend to be overly careful.

OMG my brain. The mental images. Which mod is this that randies up Mrs C, so I can stay far away from it. XD
If you have the cheat on that lets you control cats and dogs 'Boolprop controlpets on', is that a bad thing to use with a spectral cat?

Basically, if it doesn't have a standard name, don't screw around with it in ways that you wouldn't be able to do in an unmodded game with no cheats turned on. It's perfectly OK to interact with the penguin, Crumplebottom, Charlatan, Grim Reaper, skunks, spectral cats, tour guides, witch doctors, wise old men, yadda, yadda, yadda, so long as you don't go all FOR SCIENCE! and screw around with things that you're not meant to be screwing around with. (At least, not in any neighborhood you care about, that is.) Really, it's not rocket science.
Also, sometimes things happen even if you don't do any VBTs. Just accept it, sit back, relax, play the game, do a little dance, make a little love -- I mean make lots of backups, and it's all good. Really. I promise.
I'm mostly found on (and mostly upload to) Tumblr these days because, alas, there are only 24 hours in a day.

For some reason a high number of ladies in my game finds Unsavory attractive. And do the finger-pointing-hearts-all-over thing when they notice him. Most of them are knowledge Sims, so it does make me wonder. Since Mr Charlatan is said to be dangerous to play, they have to be distracted Yet I noticed he is quite meek and mild if there is a card table and he can play cards - he completely forgets to pickpocket anyone - so games do distract him.
@iCad - His name is Unsavory and his surname is Charlatan. So he does have those
