Default Strange shading where mesh pieces were joined (shoe-swap)

I’ve been trying to shoe-swap this maxis mesh and can’t find the reason behind this weird shading behind the sim’s knees. I did have to scale and move some vertices around because the legs on either mesh didn’t properly match together.

I made sure to align normals and fix underweighted bones but the problem persists. Does anyone know what I could do to fix it? I’ve uploaded the mesh file, recolour and milkshape project file here if you want to take a look around.

There is a gap in the UV mapping that you need to 'close' right where the fault is.
I've never used Milkshape so I don't know how to fix it in Milkshape but in Blender it's very easy to see and fix.
