I also recently came across a song. It's quite interesting and it's be one of my favorite bands called System Of A Down. It takes about a person who, although it's not stated, is someone who's likely to have their own head up their ass. I think it clearly represents you. Here it is.

Mods are readily available via the Internet to turn the characters in your company's The Sims 2 into nudes with exposed genitalia. This includes the children in the game. EA has made this modding easy by making it readily
possible to remove "the blur" from the genital areas. Even the New York Times' web site is providing this cheat code to remove the blur.

Adult "porn sites" are featuring, via free downloads, the mods that allow the consumer to cstomize the appearance of the labia, nipples, pubic hair, and (censored). As you know, The Sims 2 already features reproductive
activities in this "T" rated game.

Such modding is made more likely by public statements by the game's creator, Will Wright, that he supports the modding of the game.

To the extent that your company does absolutely nothing to crack down on this apparent infringement upon EA's copyrighted material, which is in possible violation of its various software agreements and warnings, then EA
collaborates, in every sense of the word, with the modders to put this material into the hands of consumers, many of whom are children, given the inviting "T" rating on the game.

I urgently ask Electronic Arts to stop this modding activity by appropriate means, otherwise the "T" rating given the game by ESRB means, for all practical purposes, nothing and breaches trust with parents.

It's getting out of hand we need someone to get in touch with CNN or Fox (basically a big station LOL), someone who's a famous member of the Modding Community and issue a statement and tear Mr Thompson apart. What about USA today newspaper? We have to do something guys! I have no problems with helping out either!

Well we can send some news tips into CNN and some other major networks and email the editors of some national newspapers to give our version out, we'd have to get an official statement though one that's consitent that's sent to each medium so if anyone is prepared to put that together it could be forwarded to the appropriate mediums. It's not right that there's no one defending the modding community, it's disgusting really. This man is labelling everyone to be sickos, even people that make PG13 custom content.

I have another argument

That Lawyer should be payed by another game producer, like Singles, who wants to ruin TS2. Singles has M(Mature) rating, right. So they want their rival, TS getting same rating as Singles. Even that lawyer said that he do it for kids and teens. He can lie everytime.

It's not really the right wing that's doing this. It's the left wing that's doing it. Hillary Clinton and Joseph Lieberman are Democrats, which is the party on the left, and they're the two biggest anti-video game content politicians out there.

Jack Thompson did run on the Republican ticket for Florida Attorney General against Janet Reno, though. I'd say that had more to do with him not being able to get on the Democratic ticket with Reno there.

What's his actual aim? To ban the sims all together; to ban mods or to give it a higher rating. I don't think it's possible to make mods impossible now unless they create another sims - the sims3 - which would disallow changes in the game.

After reading the entire content of this topic, i suppose now is the time for my rant.

Alright, basic this guy is saying that moding alters the game rating and he wants publishers to maintain the game rating in mods.

No company can do that, if EA censored the modding community they would have a revolution on their hands and TS2 would go from "insane popular" to "relative popular" since most modders would move out.

EA does not wish to alienate the adult user base of The Sims and by effective enforcing the Teen rating they would do so.

Also the cost of monitoring the community would be simply too high.

Plus rating is not universal, the Sims 2 might be rated T in the US but in europe its PEGI rating is +6 (or +7 note Universtity have a +12 rating) so what may be ok in one area of the world might not be in another but the Internet is world reaching.

Besides companies cannot be blamed by modding, if he tries that then you can guess what will happen with the NRA since they could blame gun manufacturers by mods added to a weapon making it illegal, same would happen with car manufacturers with cra mods.

There is a far reaching effect on modding, its not only EA that is effected by thing and if something like this passed it would move from electronic entertaiment modding to weapon modding since they end up being basic the same thing.

Next he'll want barbie and ken banned because they may be used for personal enjoyment by peadophiles. The sims doesnt have nudity, the bodies are the same as dolls. and its the users that turn off the blur, and who create skins with genitials, and who create mods for teenage woo-hoo.
Jack is acting like teenagers don't know what bodies look like (despite there own bodies will be developed/developing) and as for the 'make out' option being too rauchy or whatever. does he expect thats people dont watch tv? You cant see sims woo-hoo, and closest thing to porn in the game is making out or the goose option, both of which can be seen on tv before the watershed. My mum pointed out the article to me and just laughed. She's seen the sims, and knows its just a game, so its not like I wont be able to play if it does get made an M, but there are people who wont be allowed by their parents because of the rating. I understand GTA being made an M, after all, theres prostitutes and the violence is un real, but the sims? The most violence is sims dying by flies. Jack's accusations are pretty pathetic.

An extract from his review which seems to indicate that he has never played this game for himself and is basing his totally biased opinion on the word of these game sites which do explore Mod's work in the games and he seems to have mis-interpreted this as content sold with the original game

Maybe we should circulate a position paper round the sims sites and show him just how many people agree or disagree with his accusations about the sims 2 I know my name would be on disagree
