Donations is fine. I've got nothing aginst donations. Just keep in mind that it's only a donation if it A: is voluntary B: offers no gifts, no special CC, or isn't otherwise a pay item in disguise. If you have to donate to get a special item, it's a pay item. Don't get tricked into tinking otherwise. There's no difference between "donate to get item X" and "pay to get item X". If people use sites like Patreon to offer "special downloads" not downloadable for free (maybe unless it's available after a certain time), it's essentially a version of a pay site.

Yeah the same Jeweller Add was popping up continually in IE11 before I could click the Save as button. I fixed it by changing to Edge, so maybe try Chrome or something, it seems IE11 is at its use by date. 2- 6 bad certificate errors popped up on every second page of TSR and the "show all content" thing was rampant there. |

I think it's acceptable if donation is not part of their "regular" content. If they put out content periodically, as usual, for free, and occasionally add a premium item on the side, as an extra for donators, it isn't really a business model or anything.
Look out for BRIDGEPORT'88 - it's the hottest new show on YT this season!
Already renewed for '89! (Oh, and follow me on my Tumblr.) |

I didn't mind when Sandy had premium CC only for "donators" because it was a one-time donation to access *all* of them, past and future, and it could be literally *any* amount, even just $1. I definitely didn't feel ripped off. it's those fucking $20 a month to get their premium content packages that's fucking disgusting, and makes me wish EA would crack down on that shit. Just like Youtube won't let you monetise videos that use other people's work.

I disagree, Patreon is being used for subscriptions because the site is designed to be auto-renewal monthly payments, you actually have to manually turn off payments and this is why some not updated in a year are still getting a few hundreds due to people not turning off payments. This is why the shift towards the sweet sweet Patreon monies, its a monthly subscription despite everyone pretending it isnt ... for now, I am sure the IRS will eventually turn their attention towards it eventually, death and taxes ... |

I'm writing a TV series, yeah. It's a cross between True Detective and Pretty Little Liars. |
