Default The Return of King Arthur | New Challenge
Inspired by The Sims Medieval and the Arthurian myths, this challenge gives you tasks to complete with varying rewards, and points in order to reach a high enough score to complete the challenge.

~

THE STORY
King Arthur has returned to the Realm (SimEarth) to unite all the lands together once again, as he did in times of old. To fulfill this prophecy, there are a few things he will need to do (quests), in order to prove to the Lady of the Lake that he is worthy.

THE RULES
- Normal life span is recommended, but use long or short if you wish (although the former might be too easy and the latter might be too hard.)
- No cheating unless stated otherwise (such as setting funds when you move in, acquiring quest rewards, and setting reward household member skills). Mods such as MC command centre that repopulate the world and such are fine, as long as you do nothing that would specifically benefit your played sims.
- Aspiration rewards are allowed to be used freely and as you please with the exception of the potion of youth. This is a quest reward that can you can get for free with the bb.showhiddenobjects cheat once you finish the required quest.
- The Wishing Well object from Romantic Garden Stuff is a quest reward item and can only be placed on a community lot once you have completed the necessary quest.
- Your Arthur sim can not freely get married or move anyone into their household whenever they feel like- these are quest rewards.
- Careers are part of quests. Arthur (and his household) can only join a career if its required in the quest he’s undertaking. Otherwise, have him make money by questing, collecting, fishing, gardening, painting, writing, etc.
- Certain quests will require you to find sims with certain traits. It’s up to you how you handle this. You can use EA townies or you can place your own (or do a mix of the two). You can make your own Guinevere, Lancelot etc if you please.

THE HERO
- Create your King Arthur sim. Your sim doesn’t have to be called Arthur, nor do they have to be male. King Arthur could reincarnate as a queen this time around, and look any way you want them to look. If you want the full knight armor from Get Together, go for it. If you want a more modern approach, go for it. For simplicity's sake, I’ll use he/him pronouns to refer to Arthur here.
- Must be a Young Adult.
- Arthur can have any traits you want, but he should fit the archetype of a noble and brave (but perhaps also flawed) king/queen/monarch.

THE LADY OF THE LAKE
Quite arguably, you are playing the role of The Lady of the Lake, sending Arthur on quests but also helping him on the way. However, you can make a Lady of the Lake sim and place her in the world (not in your household). This is a totally optional step, but it might be quite nice to have your Arthur visit her from time to time for storytelling purposes.

CAMELOT
- If you have Get Together, move in to one of the 60x60 lots in Windenburg, bulldozing the houses that are already there. If you do not have Get Together, use the largest lot in any other world.
Using the ‘money x’ cheat, set your funds to 5000. This is your starting funds, so that everyone begins with an equal amount of money no matter which lot you buy.
- There are no limitations on building. If you want to start building your home straight away, go for it. If you’d rather rough it until you can get more money, that’s fine too.
- As with your sim, a medieval style or a modern style build is fine.

QUESTS
- Quests are how King Arthur will prove to the Lady of the Lake that he is worthy to reunite the Realm as one and be its head of state/ruler/president etc. Each quest will provide different rewards, and provide a certain number of points towards completing the challenge. Some will take you minutes in real life, others will be a lot more time consuming. In order for The Lady of the Lake to see his worth and bestow him with worthy to fulfill his destiny, a certain amount of quest reward points must be acquired by Arthur (depending on which difficulty level you choose), thus completing the challenge. Some quests will unlock a new character, career or item that will help you on your path. You can choose any quests you wish, that you have the packs for, in any order you please. You can undertake multiple quests at once.

BEGINNER: Earn 10 points
EASY: Earn 15 points
MEDIUM: Earn 20 points
HARD: Earn 25 points
LEGENDARY: Complete every quest.

THE HOLY GRAIL (reward: Potion of Youth, 2 points) (requires Outdoor Retreat)
Arthur hears that one of the last remaining Druids in the Realm is hiding out in Granite Falls. This Druid holds the Holy Grail, which when drank from, makes a sim much younger. Travel to Granite Falls, find and befriend this sorcerer, and (s)he will let Arthur drink from The Holy Grail, which will reset his current life stage, thus giving him more time to complete quests. (Simply have your sim travel to Granite Falls and find the hidden lot which is home to the Hermit, reach good friend level with the Hermit, and once you arrive home you can use the bb.showhiddenobejcts cheat to get yourself one Potion of Youth which Arthur can drink at whatever point he sees fit.)

GUINEVERE (reward: a spouse with maxed Charisma skill, 2 points)
Your Arthur has been feeling lonely and has decided the time has come to find his Guinevere, to share the rest of his life with. The Lady of the Lake has informed him that the reincarnation of his wife Guinevere is somewhere in the Realm, he just has to find her. Guinevere is beloved by all, and will be able to ask sims for money in order to make life slightly easier for Arthur and the rest of his household. (This quest is simple: just get married to a Romantic sim. Guinevere, like Arthur, can be of any gender and doesn’t have to be called Guinevere [feel free to change her name though]. She must have the ‘Romantic’ trait. Once married, move her in. Using the cheat ‘stats.set_skill_level Major_Charisma 10’, set Guinevere’s charisma skill to level 10. Guinevere can then make money for the household by ‘asking for loans’. You can have babies with Guinevere [see the ‘A Worthy Heir’ quest for more info]).

MERLIN (reward: a new household member with maxed Herbalism and Wellness skills, 2 points) (requires Outdoor Retreat)
The Lady of the Lake has informed Arthur that the reincarnation of Merlin, Arthur’s powerful confidant and advisor, is somewhere in the world. Find him, befriend him, and move him in to Arthur’s household to assist him on his quest by making powerful elixirs that can be used or sold. (Find a sim that has the Genius trait, reach good friend status with them, and move them in to the household. They don’t have to be called Merlin and can be of any gender. Use the cheat ‘stats.set_skill_level Major_Herbalism 10’ to max out their Herbalism skill. If you have Spa Day, you can also max out Merlin’s Wellness skill by using the cheat ‘stats.set_skill_level Major_Wellness 10’, but this is optional. Merlin can then make you money by selling their Herbalism potions, and the potions can also be used by Arthur and his household. You can not cheat to get the ingredients for his Herbalism potions, they must be found in Granite Falls, or planted.)

LANCELOT (reward: a new household member with high fitness skill and Athlete career unlocked for Lancelot, 2 points)
The Lady of the Lake has tells Arthur that Lancelot, his best friend and most trusted champion, has reincarnated and is somewhere in the world. Simply have Arthur befriend him and invite him to join his household. Lancelot is a strong and disciplined individual, who can bring in money for Arthur by entering the Athlete career. (Have Arthur reach good friend status with a sim that has the Athletic trait, and move them in to the household. Once they have moved in use the cheat ‘stats.set_skill_level Skill_Fitness 10’ to max out their Fitness skill. Lancelot can then join the Athletic career to make money for the household.)

POWER GRAB (reward: Political career unlocked for Arthur, 6 points) (requires City Living)
Secure Arthur's rightful place as the democratically elected head of state in the realm by entering the world of modern politics. (Have Arthur reach the top of the Political career in the Politician branch)

KNIGHTS OF THE ROUND TABLE (reward: 5 points) (requires Get Together)
As he did during his first incarnation, Arthur must find seven sims to sit with him at his Round Table, and assist him in all he does. (Have Arthur make a Get Together club of Round Table knights, and gain enough club points to unlock all eight member slots, so that you end up with seven knights. You must be at good friend level with each of the knights to complete the quest. If you have a Lancelot, he can join the club.)

DRIVING OUT EVIL (reward: 3 points)
Evil sims are wreaking havoc across the Realm. The Lady of the Lake tasks Arthur with making sure they know that this will not be tolerated in the united Realm, and frighten them in to submission. (Win fights with 3 different sims that have the Evil trait.)

DIVINE BLESSING (reward: 4 points) (requires Spa Day)
The Lady of the Lake feels that Arthur needs to be more in touch with the divine, healing energies of Heaven & Earth, and tasks him with mastering the druidic arts of old. (Have Arthur max the Wellness skill).

WARRIOR MONARCH (reward: 4 points)
The Lady of the Lake tasks Arthur with becoming as physically fit as possible, ensuring he can defend himself and his people. (Have Arthur max the Fitness skill).

WISE MONARCH (reward: 4 points)
The Lady of the Lake tasks Arthur with educating himself so that he may better understand the ways of the Realm. (Have Arthur max the Logic skill)

BELOVED MONARCH (reward: 4 points)
The Lady of the Lake tells Arthur that a good ruler has the love of their people as well as their respect, and tasks him with learning how to be a lovable head of state. (Have Arthur max the Charisma skill)

LOREKEEPER (reward: 3 points)
The Lady of the Lake suggests that Arthur write an autobiography about his life, so that the events of his second incarnation may not become mere mythology like his first incarnation over a thousand years ago did. (Have Arthur publish a bestselling biography)

CASTLE FOR A KING (reward: 5 points)
In order to keep out those that would thwart him, Arthur must build a strong, awe-inspiring and impenetrable home. (Have your home lot be worth at least 300,000 simoleons. If, like me, you are hopeless at building, no worries: you can use a home from the gallery, providing you can afford it without cheating.)

MORGANA THE VAMPIRE (reward: 5 points) (requires Vampires pack)
Arthur’s ancient enemy, his half sister Morgana, has reincarnated… as a vampire. She seeks to do anything in her power to stop him from fulfilling his destiny. The prophecy says that she cannot be killed, but she can be weakened significantly by taking away her vampiric powers. (Have Arthur slay a vampire by concocting the vampire cure).

FRIEND OF THE FAE (reward: 3 points)
The Lady of the Lake suggests Arthur form an alliance with the Fae, her people. The Fae will offer their allegiance if Arthur spends a short time living as one of them. (Since we don’t have fairies in Sims 4 yet, the fae in this challenge are Plantsims. Using testingcheats true and shift-clicking on Arthur, or using the magic beans and the stump from bb.showhiddenobjects, have him turn in to a Plantsim and live life as one until the moodlet runs out.)

CAULDRON OF THE DRUIDS (reward: access to the Wishing Well from Romantic Garden Stuff, 5 points)
The Fae agree to show you the location to the ancient Cauldron of the Druids, a magical well that can grant wishes to those it deems worthy, but only if you do them a favour in return. The Fae need help gathering crystals, which they use in their magic. (Complete the crystals collection, not including the two that can only be found on Sixam, and you may put the Wishing Well down in any lot you choose, preferably somewhere mystical like Sylvan Glade, The Bluffs or the Ancient Ruins, as some suggestions. You can use the Wishing Well as you wish- even to extend Arthur’s life span- but you must deal with the consequences if your wish goes awry. You can keep the crystals you find, just pretend have them cut in half and given half to the fey).

A ROYAL BALL (reward: 2 points)
Throw a grand feast or roaring party for the citizens of The Realm. (Simply throw a goaled black & white ball, house party or dinner party that reaches Gold Level)

A WORTHY HEIR (reward: a household member, 6 points,)
Your first incarnation didn’t last forever, and neither did this one. At some point, the Grim Reaper will take you to join the spirits of Avalon whether you like it or not. Secure your legacy by raising a worthy heir of strong intelligence and moral character. No partner? Or a same sex partner? No problem, adopt a child to be your heir. (Raise a baby to young adulthood. If you are married to your Guinevere, you can have a biological child. If not, adopt a baby. You can choose all of your heirs’ traits. You complete this quest once the hair reaches young adulthood, and they must have achieved an A in high school. If you have the Parenthood game pack, the heir must have at least two positive character value traits. You can have more than one child, but only one can be the heir and counts towards completing the quest.)

~

That’s it for now! As time goes on and more packs come out, I’ll be adding more quests. Suggestions for quests are also welcomed I really hope you all enjoy this challenge. I’m going to be playing it over at my Youtube channel Sapphisims, so please check that out. As of writing this I haven’t play tested it yet, and my Youtube playthrough will basically be my playtest, so if anyone has any suggestions for improvements I’d appreciate that, also.
