This user has the following games installed:

Sims 2, University, Nightlife, Open for Business, Pets, Seasons, Bon Voyage, Free Time, Apartment Life
Default New Default Townies Not Being Added to Empty Pleasantview
I recently had the idea of making my townies into the default townie pool after reading Queen of France's 'Default Townie Replacement' thread, and thought that would be better instead of adding the subhood version every time I want to start over and then having to change all 90+names. I was reading how to replace the N001 folder in the UserData folder (in my case, I have the UC), but it's been such a long time since I made a hood from scratch by renaming the N001 folder and disabling the regular townies before I knew about empty hoods, so I'm a little confused. I have Jawusa's non-default Pleasantview (NE01) in my Documents folder and my townie folder in my UserData folder, I took out the notownieregen and thought my townies would be added. So far none of them have shown up except for 2 random townies and a bunch of strays. I don't think I messed anything up, the N001 folder has been named correctly, the ID number is correct.

Looks like I'll have to create a test hood with the neighborhood button and see if it works. But in the mean time, is there a workaround to this?

EDIT: I'm correct with my assumption; just created a random neighborhood and all of my townies are there.

EDIT EDIT: I used HoodReplace as a workaround and it did work, my townies were still in the test hood. Only thing is that the lots didn't transfer over but the trees did. I only used HoodReplace once before so I'll have to figure this out when I'm better rested.

Shift-click on the mail box and there is an option to have the game create 32 new townies and you can do this as many times as you want.

Shift-click mailbox, click on *Neighborhood then there are 3 DBG for townies, NPC's and EP2 NPC's.

This will give you new named townies and NPC's for a hood that does not have any or add to the pools of the same.

For default Pleasantview townies you need to put back the original Pleasantview before you create new hood to have them in.

Primavera already has townies that they want to use. What Primavera is trying to do is to make a base neighborhood template with those townies like Queen of France did here:

Yes this is correct. Like I said before, I'm only doing this to save myself the trouble from renaming all of them every time I attach the subhood version. I'm gonna try the HoodReplace method again and see if the lots transfer over, because if not I'm gonna have a empty main hood with the rest of my subhoods attached. But it was weird to see this hood that I unzipped had no townies in it, does this always happen with zipped neighborhoods? I can't remember if this is a quirk.

I came down with a bout of sinusitis shortly after my last post so I wasn't able to test any further up until a few days ago (which probably made it worse because I wasn't resting), so apologies for abruptly leaving this thread unresolved. I found a tutorial I used when I was renovating lots from potentially corrupted neighborhood and attempted this method in my neighborhood with the townies already added. It didn't work and I ended up with double the amount of Text Lists because I wasn't sure if I needed to delete the lists from my neighborhood if that makes sense. I'm gonna try this in a completely empty neighborhood and if this works then I may just have to deal with changing my townie names over and over again.

EDIT: nope, that didn't work either. Ugh, might as well package up the lots and add them all individually because this has stumped me.

What about making an otherwise empty subhood template and put playable versions of all your sims onto one big lot in that template. You can attach the subhood to any neighborhood and your characters would be attached with it and keep their names. You'd then have to use Inge's teleporter or some similar mod to convert them all into townies though, which might be annoying.

I got the idea from Tarlia's "Stealth Hoods as Shopping Districts". Hers are in the family bin though, and not on a lot in the neighborhood.
