After playing Ultimate Collection for months without any performance issues whatsoever I recently started experiencing extreme lag which seems to have come out of nowhere. Everything runs perfectly fine in neighborhood view but whenever I enter a lot with a family, the game becomes severely choppy and the frame rate plummets everytime there is a sim in field of the camera view. This lag is making the game completely unplayable no matter how low I put the in-game graphics settings.

I tried removing my downloads, I deleted a massive amount of computer files that were taking up space on my drive and even tried restarting a fresh game from scratch with new files but the lag still remains.

I have not updated or changed my computer settings in any way prior to this issue. It's probably worth mentioning that I have been playing on a 6 year old frequently used laptop. Could it be that my graphics card simply is getting too old and it can't run things the way it used to? Or is this fixable?

64 bit operating system, x64 based processor

Would you please look on the box of AL and see the min specs.

You are running the game with only 1.8 Ghz and it requires 2.4 for Vista and above.

You may also have a low end video card to.

I don't get lag but I do lose FPS when more than 6 sims are on a lot and my specs are.

3.8 quad
32 Gb ram (4 Gb for the game with the the patch.)
GTX 980 Ti
