Default "The Well-Rounded Family" Challenge
Welcome to my first Sims 3 challenge called “The Well Rounded Family” Challenge.

(Note: Some objectives may require certain Expansions, you if you don’t have the required expansion an alternative may be listed. You can ignore it if you choose)

The Sims 3 has so much more to offer then The Sims 2 ever did and because of this I find it hard to pay attention to my Sim kids. They are often left to their own devices and most days their parents don’t even talk to them. This challenge plans to change all that as its solely based around family life. The adult Sims lives will totally revolve around their children.

Create-A-Sim

Please create a Mother and Father (YA)
and 1 toddler (any gender)
You may create some grandparents or some Aunts/Uncles if you wish but they must be moved out into their own home.

Give the parents good traits as we want them to be positive examples to their offspring.

Or you can use any existing YA couple you have and get them to have a child.

Ground Rules:

Mum will be a stay at home Mum. She may register for self employment (if you dont have Ambitions you can make money at home via Novels, Art etc.) Once all children are teens she may get a job

Dad must have a job (either self employed or a normal rabbit hole job. Professions are too time consuming)

Children must attend school

Parents may never take 'free vacations
No boarding school

No money or motive cheats please

Having more kids:
Mum may only get pregnant one more time in her life. She may not attempt to get pregnant until 1 day before her toddler grows up or any time afterwards (if you have aging off then you decide when you want your toddler to age up and make 1 day before). You can use fertility treatment if you wish.

Birthdays: They are a big deal. Throw your children a party each time they age up. Get them a present and give to them as a gift (Generations). Get cake, balloons and make something yummy (cookies, key-lime pie etc.)

Date Night:
Choose one night a week that will be Mum and Dad's date night. They may hire a babysitter for this occasion. What they do on their date is up to you.

Mum's Time:
Mum needs a day where she can take a few hours off to have some “me”time. Hire a babysitter or leave the kids with dad while she gets a facial, sees a movie with a friend, visits the beach or whatever you like. Make this once a week.

Dad's Time:

Dad gets one day a week for himself. He can choose to do what he likes in his spare time on that day. Use it to see a friend, visit the karaoke bar or whatever you like. All other days he must come straight home from work.

Party Invitations:
Mum or Dad may only attend parties they are invited to once every 2 weeks.

Sunday:
Sunday is family day. This day must be spent out of the home doing something fun. Take the family fishing, to the park for a picnic or bbq, go to the beach, visit the grandparents or anything you like. If the kids are old enough you might want to head out on Sat night and camp out somewhere. Pack their inventories with fruit, stereo, sleeping bags, fire pit or any portable games (i.e gnubb set, football)

Vacation:
When all children are old enough you MUST take the family on a vacation (World Adventures) to enhance their culture. You may go more then once to any destination you choose.

Pets:
If you have the pets EP then you MUST get your child a pet once they are old enough to take care of it. It can be anything from a bird to a turtle or maybe a puppy. Your children are responsible for feeding and cleaning up after them.

After school activities:
Each child in school must sign up for an after school activity. (Generations)

Special Season Holidays:
Make a special effort to celebrate each of the seasons holidays. Some examples: Have a family feast or gift giving party on Snowflake day. Take your wife out for a romantic dinner on Love Day. Take the family to the Spring festival to pick flowers or search for eggs. Spend Spooky day cutting jack o lanterns together, having costume parties or the like.

I took it to mean that she can only have one pregnancy during her lifetime. So, you could go for her having multiples if you want more than two children for the total challenge.
