I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that's the way the game is supposed to display. The game does not require a video card to play as far as I know so changing it won't help. The point of the game is that it is friendlier to laptops that don't have as much "power" in their specs as desktops.
Most "Stories" games only display in a window that does not fill the screen. Mine work that way at least. Someone could correct me if I'm wrong here, but I don't think you have a problem. That's just the way the game is.
