This user has the following games installed:

Sims 3, World Adventures, Ambitions, Late Night, Generations, Pets, Showtime, Supernatural, Seasons, University Life, Island Paradise, Into the Future
Game Crashes on my existing worlds but not on new ones.
I am having trouble with this issue and i do not know the cause, ive recently installed a new sub folder containing package files roughly 50 per folder(which ive removed to test if it was causing issues) and all of the files work fine or atliest they did until one day when they didnt. I could easily remove nrass careers and any modules for it but that would also require me to remove any custom careers ive downloaded and besides nraas was working fine for a long while before this happened. I have made no changes to my system, no patches and ive removed several folders to test what the issue is (since it only started when i added the latest sub folder which i have again removed to test), and now every attempt has yielded an error message.

I can't say if this error alone is what is causing the crash, but you have a "bad" or rather an outdated custom career in play, namely this one:
http://modthesims.info/download.php?t=394628

This kind of issue won't affect all worlds because it will only arise when a sim somewhere in town joins or reaches a certain level within that career and the game is then unable to calculate a specific career metric.

This is the line in the first script log that tells us which custom career is erroring out.
EDXGamer.Career

And what the problem is, although not how to fix it.
System.Xml.XmlException: 'Metric4' is expected Line 197, position 27.
#0: 0x00000 superop in System.Xml.System.Xml.XmlTextReader:Read () ()

In the second script log
EDXGamer.Tones

And the error.
System.Xml.XmlException: 'SkillRate2' is expected Line 22, position 24.
#0: 0x00000 superop in System.Xml.System.Xml.XmlTextReader:Read () ()

The crash log does not provide any useful information. Again, something else entirely that we aren't seeing yet could be wrong, but this career is broken. I never said that you recently added the career, these issues can lurk in the background until a sim in your ongoing games reaches a point in the career where the breakage becomes apparent.

Did you clear (delete) the scriptCache.package file at the top level of your TS3 user game folder after removing the custom career?

If there were any sims currently engaged in that career, perhaps they needed to be reset first and removed from the career, but I understand that's going to be difficult to do if the game save is crashing upon loadup on you. Do you have NRaas Overwatch and especially ErrorTrap in play?

Just another thought here, seems like a longshot but worth asking. Do you have your content merged and it is possible there is a second instance of this career package file in your Mods\Packages collections that shouldn't be there? Does the career still exist in these newer games (does an actively being played sim have the option to join the career now)?

i dont think i have anything merged i checked the dashboard for conflicts corruptions empty, duplicate or sims 2 files and none were shown but i have some conflicts which didnt really affect gameplay and ive checked with S3PE that they dont contain files that conflict with anything also ive searched for other careers files but so far ive not found anything ive moved files between folders and there are no duplicates would that be the cause? also couldnt i just remove nrass careers? also any idea about the

If you remove the NRaas Careers mod, then all of your custom careers will instantly cease to exist. But sure, do give that a try as at this point you don't have much to lose (you can always put the mod back in again).

The crash log Exception Info is saying that there is data in a RAM location that it cannot access or that the game cannot make any sense out of, Windows steps in at this point and says "You're drunk, it's time to go home," and crashes the program. Standard stuff really, but there is no useful information there other than the game has crashed, which you already would have known.

hey igazor i stumbled onto this looking for a solution https://forums.thesims.com/en_US/di...-to-desktop-fix my error log also says im running vista when i have windows 10, is there a limit to how much cc the game can handle because i have over 1000 mods at this point and my issue might not be just "the cc i use" but also " how much cc i use" which would make sense because the game stopped functioning for me after my folder19 and and folder20 was added to the mods folder.
(btw each folder aside from my "nrass" and "other" mods [folder1-folder2] etc each contains 50 files of varying file size)

im making this reply because i can only edit the same post so many times before it becomes old and people are unable to see it anymore.

PS: just curious but would it be a good idea to compress the cc folders? i await your reply

EA fixed the issues with DEP long ago with one of the patches. I have no experience with compressing CC folders, but using S3PE to merge your CC into bundles may provide some benefit . You are linking me to a thread on which I participated years ago, and I'm sorry to say this but the player was on an extremely underpowered laptop for the EPs they were trying to play and they were not listening to reason back then.

The RAM address error you are seeing in your crash log only means that the game has crashed, not that there is some kind of permissions issue. But I've already said that several times so I will step back and see if someone else can be of better assistance.

hey i downloaded sims 3 crash log and it said "Warning! updates available and apparently 6 patches for early eps and sp's are missing from my installation of sims 3 and apparently that is why my reinstallation on a new hard drive failed.

Edit: i ran the game again and now it crashed due to cc conflicts which was apparently a duplicate file the dashboard didnt pick up

Download and run the superpatch or get this http://modthesims.info/d/409829/the...downloader.html and run it, it will tell you which are missing and let you update them. There was once a time that each individual EP and SP had updates, they changed that but the launcher still misses them sometimes.

i used http://modthesims.info/d/409829/the...downloader.html to download all the patches i needed but 1(wrong game region downloaded and i downloaded a manual file instead)

now there are no conflicts(except folder1-18 which ive tested and dont actually share any files with other mods)

btw i wanted to convert all the .dbc files in DCCache to package files and move them to the mods/packages folder would this work? i have http://modthesims.info/d/364038/del...-sept-2009.html so all my sims3 packs i download are converted to .package files to save on filesize.
