I know that The Sims 3 is old news and a lot of people don't play it anymore but I have always wanted to make my own CC for the game but never learned how to assign bones to my meshes do to there being almost no proper tutorials, there are so many things I want to make and I know how to create a mesh in Blender 3D but when it comes to assigning bones to a brand new mesh I am at a loss, can somebody please link me to a tutorial that is extremely detailed and simple enough for a child to understand (because I'm special needs and find it hard to understand much of anything) or preferably could anybody try to explain as simply as you can and include pictures on how to manually assign bones to a custom mesh? I would be eternally grateful to anyone who is willing to help me.

Hello im sure there is somebody more fitted to answer the question than me.
But i think there is no reason to learn how to learn to assign bones manually..
For sims 3 just use the mesh tool kit by cmar export your mesh as WSO and use reference mesh GEOM click on replace all bone assignments and it does it automatic for you.
Same thing for morphs..
Then you are free to import your mesh on blender/milkshape and export it in any way you like to edit it later, in case of TSRW just export as TSWR OBJ.
At least i think that is the easy way out..
Of course there are other ways but i find this to be the fastest.

Thank you for answering me, but I'm afraid that this isn't enough for me to begin making my own CC. I still have so many unanswered questions like how do I assign individual verts to certain bone category and what if I have a mesh that is nothing like any other mesh out there, for example I was given permission to convert a shark mermaid tail from The Sims 4 to The Sims 3 by the creator Merman Simmer long ago and I don't know of any other mermaid tails for The Sims 3 that could be used as a reference, I also would like to know a lot of other things about bone assignment as well, long ago I tried to make a navel piercing once and it did move with the body but when I tried to make the sim thinner it looked like it was just floating in the air, there are so many things I still need to learn and I hope there is someone out there willing to answer all my questions with easy to follow and understand answers.

Im sorry as i said probably there is someone better at answering your questions.
But as far as my knowledge goes is very time consuming to manually assign bones at least it was with milkshape.
It would be way faster to trial and error with mesh tool kit at least in my opinion. I might be completely wrong and apologize in case im saying something invalid.
As for there is no similar mesh I think that may not be the case, when it for bone assignments at least..

I dont know if you can use it as a reference for bones.
But if I was trying to convert your project , I would just simply try use the male mermaid tale that comes from IP for a reference for mesh tool kit.

As for your piercing problem i would suggest the same thing again , find another piercing that work the way you want when it comes to bone assignment for sims 3 eg : http://modthesims.info/d/386653/nav...nd-females.html and use it as reference in mesh tool kit.
